If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Christmas Cards

Sunday afternoon I attended a Stampin' Up Christmas Card Class. It was a lot of fun and now I have 26 (I still have to finish 4 of them) cards made for Christmas. These are the 5 cards we made. The last one is my favorite. Which one do you like best? Mind you I can ask, because I didn't design them, I just followed directions. Actually, the first one I didn't make at all. It was getting late so the hostess made one for me and then sent the stuff to make the other 5 home with me to complete.

Little Girl

This is for all you parents that worry about your little girl growing up. I just wanted to let you know that even when they are almost 17 (she will be on Wednesday) they still have the little girl in them. See the proof below.

Here she is as the shy little thumb sucking girl

&

Here is the Super Girl with her cape!

Actually she's dressed up to go to work. She works at a local fruit farm and dressed in costume today. They work really hard there this time of year, but they have a lot of fun too.

So Mom's and Dad's never fear, the little girl never truly goes away!!!

Bible Study Thoughts

Our lady's Bible Study is coming to the end. Just 1 more week. We are doing Beth Moore's "Believing God" It's been an awesome time. We have such a great diverse group of women who are so much fun to be with. We come from all walks of life, at least 5 or 6 different churches are represented and we range in ages from 16 to 80 something. We have a couple retired school bus drivers, we have a former teacher's aid, we have a lady who used to help her husband lay brick, we have a retired Healthcare Assistant, a nurse who is working on her Masters, my daughter who is a high school junior feeling the call to full-time ministry, me.

This group is so much fun. They bring so many different facets to our Bible Study. We have all experienced so many different things serving the Lord and we are all in various stages of our Christian Walk. It just makes it so interesting when we meet. If one of the younger ones are talking about a particular problem they are going through, you can usually count on one of the older ladies having had a similar problem at some point in their life. Sometimes they can offer assistance or ideas on how to cope or sometimes they just offer a hug and "I've been there and I understand." which is so encouraging. You know God is so good to allow us to have friends to help us through this life.

Where I was originally heading with this post was something Beth Moore said in the video. She talked about clapping for God when He does something awesome. She says after she's been at service and has seen God move that on the way home when she stops at a traffic light she'll just start clapping and praising God. Then she said if we aplaud God, He may be more likely to do an encore. I thought that was such was such a neat idea. So, I think I'll start thanking God more and praising Him for all he's done and clapping.

So thank You, God. I praise you for my Bible Study friends and my new blogging friends. You are so good to me.

Psalms 47:1
"O clap your hands , all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." KJV

That's My World Tuesday

There's a new photo meme to check out. Just click on the button above to find out more and see more of where people live. You're supposed to show pictures of where you live or vacation or whatever. Here's a picture of part of the main street in my town, which is in the south west of Ohio. We were standing out waiting for the High School Homecoming Parade and I took a couple shots. I'll get some more and better ones for the future hopefully.

More Monday Week 6 - 6 Princesses

Here's my pic for More Monday Week 6. Go here to find out the rules and see more.

Our family loves Disney and my oldest daughter loves the Princessess. These are hers and if you'll notice Ariel has center stage. She is her all time favorite. In fact, here's a picture of KLS with Ariel this summer at Disney World. Aren't they cute?

Volleyball Season Has Ended!

Well, for a few weeks there will be some rest for the weary. KJS's volleyball season is over now. They placed 3rd in the tournament and 1st place in the league. I'm very proud of them. Here's a picture of her. Isn't she the cutest volleyball player you've ever seen? I plan to enjoy the next couple of weeks and then it's on to basketball!!

Weight Journey Update

This week I lost 3.2lbs for a total of 6.4lbs lost. I'm not exactly sure how that happened, especially after the comfort food I had on Monday and Sunday we had a church dinner. But I don't think I'll complain. On to a new week and hopefully some better food choices and some physical activity (not sure I want to think of it as exercise).

Onward and Downward!! haha

Just the Two of Us

Since yesterday was Columbus Day, I didn't have to work. My husband took the day off too. The girls still had school as they get a fall break this coming weekend. They are off Friday and Monday. Anyway, since it was just the 2 of us we decided to do something a little different than normal.

We took a drive up north to Young's Dairy Farm. This was so much fun. We walked around and looked at the animals and just enjoyed being together. We ate lunch at the "Golden Jersey Inn" which had homestyle cooking. He ate beef and noodles and I had chicken and dumplings. Man were they good. Definitely, good old-fashioned comfort food. We then walked back to the Dairy and had an ice cream. Really good.

After we left there we went to John Bryan State Park and looked around for awhile. We haven't been there for probably ten years. We made plans to go back soon when we have time and are better dressed to go hiking. I can't wait. We used to spend so much time walking there and making plans and dreaming of our future. It was so much fun to be back.

We had to come back early to pick the girls up from school, but it was such a nice few hours with just him and me talking and spending time being together.

Slaying Giants

My husband preached about David and Goliath today. It was very good. I thought I'd share just a small part of it. He talked about fear and how the Israelites were afraid to fight Goliath because he was so big. But David came and didn't focus on the fact that Goliath was big. Instead, he focused on how big his God is. In 1 Samuel 17:45 it says: "Then David said to the Philistine, 'You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." and verse 47 says "Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD's and He will give you into our hands." So If you want to minimize your giants, you need to magnify God. My husband gave each one of us a smooth stone (like David used to slay Goliath) and told us each time we look at it to remember this thought. Focus on giants - you stumble; Focus on God-your giants tumble.

I don't know about you, but I intend to focus on my God; not on the giants in my life.

I've Been Tagged

I was tagged by "As the World Flops". Let's see what I can come up with.

1. I'm a middle child. I have an older and younger brother and an older and younger sister. I'm not real into the birth order thing, but I know a lot of people are. I'm not sure what the middle child is supposed to be like, but whenever I tell anyone that I'm a middle child they say, Ohhh (kinda like that explains a lot. lol)

2. I've worked at the same place for 32 years. (Is it time to retire yet?)

3. I love southern gospel music. Especially the all male quartets. My grandfather sang bass in a quartet. My mom sang alto and dad sang lead in a quartet. I used to sing lead in a quartet. It must be in my blood.

4. I love dogs. My current dog's name is Lily.

5. Disney World is one of my all time favorite places to be.

6. Looking at a starry sky or the ocean makes me think of God and how awesome He is and how wonderful His creation is.

7. I have the best husband and daughters in the world. I'm really sorry for the rest of you, but they are mine!

Ok. Now I'm supposed to tag 7 other people. Let's see.....

Traci of Gallagher's World

KLS of The Incomplete Workings of KLS

Karen of Daily Painting by Karen

Cathy of The Voice of Truth

I'm only tagging 4. I know it's supposed to be 7, but I guess I'm breaking the rules this time.

Well, it's Friday and the end of another week of work. It's been a good week, but a busy week. I've been having fun learning this blog stuff. It seems like each day, I'm learning a little bit more. Thanks Cathy for all your help.

Our ladies Bible Study just finished week 6 of the Beth Moore Study, "Believing God". What an awesome study. I feel like I'm learning so much. I'm learning to really believe God and what He says instead of just believing in Him. There are 5 main concepts of Believing that she is teaching. The one I love probably the most is "I am who He says I am." I need to hear that and remember that. I have a tendency to believe what Satan says instead of what God says. You know Satan always puts us down and tells us we aren't worth anything. But God says we are because He loves us and made us, so that makes us valuable to Him. The reason I'm worth something is because of God and not me. He says I and loved, blessed, redeemed, forgiven, adopted, accepted and chosen. Wow!! All because of Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 says: "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." NLT

That is so astounding to me, that He loved me while I was still a sinner and died for me so I can now be called His own. I don't know about you, but that makes all the difference in how I can view myself. There's a song that says "When He sees me He sees the Blood of the Lamb, He sees me as worthy and not as I am. He views me in garments as white as the snow. For the Lamb of God is worthy and He washed me this I know."

All I can say is Thank You Lord.

Disney Vacation

This past August we took an awesome vacation and went to one of my most favorite places. Walt Disney World!!! Our family is definitely Disney Fanatics. I'm not sure who loves it more; the girls or my husband and me. lol We had an absolutely great time. We spent 10 days in the parks and enjoyed every minute of it. It was hot as all get out, but it was still so much fun.

I've got a trip report going on the DISboards if anyone is interested in reading about our trip. Click Disney Vacation to go there. There are tons of pictures. I hope you will visit.

Weight Journey Update

I went to Weight Watchers tonight and only lost 0.8 lbs. I know that's not much, but I haven't done too well dieting this week. So at least it was a loss and not a gain. I've lost a total of 3.2lbs. in 2 weeks. So, I'm still heading in the right direction anyway. Oh well, I'll try to do better this week.

Here's a before picture of me that I promised to post. Now on to Week 3!

Queen Esther

I just finished watching the movie "One Night with the King" with my daughter. I love this movie so much. It's about Queen Esther in the Bible. Esther is one of my favorite books in the Bible, along with Ruth. I just admire both of these women so much. They have such courage and faith.

Esther seems to be popping up in my life a lot right now. I'm currently reading the book "Hadassah" by Tommy Tenney, which the movie is based on. Then my husband talked about Esther in his sermon on Sunday morning, which was about having courage and not fear. Also, our Women's Bible Study Group has been talking about doing Beth Moore's newest Bible Study next spring which is on Esther.

I think maybe there are some things I can learn from her to help in my life.

Scrapbooking Project

I've done a lot of scrapbooking in the past, but it's been months since I've touched it. I've decided to get back to it some. Last Saturday I made a trip to Archiver's and got some paper and bought 3 6"x6" scrapbooks that were only $1.99 each. They hold 20 pages. My plans are to make a book for each set of grandparents and 1 for me of nothing but pictures of my girls taken in the last couple of months. I figure it'll be fun for me to make and the grandparents will enjoy having the pictures. Here's a picture of the stuff I bought.

Homecoming Continued

We went to the parade. Of course when the Junior Powder Puff Team came by KLS was on the opposite side so I couldn't get her picture. But it was fun to watch the parade anyway. Finally we made it through all the traffic to the game. Took awhile to get there, but the game hadn't started yet. The girls looked cute out there playing. Unfortunately, the Seniors won 28-14. But at least it wasn't a total wipe out. KLS did pretty good! Just wish she could have played a little more, but then probably every parent was saying the same thing about their kid. It was a fun night and I'm glad we went. By the way Cathy, if you read this, I saw your son there tonight and tried to get his picture. I haven't downloaded them yet, so I don't know if I got a very good one of him or not.

I just checked and I got one of him that wasn't too bad. I'll e-mail you a copy.

Here's a pic of KLS

Homecoming

We're getting ready to head out the door in a couple of minutes. Our daughter is playing in the Powder Puff Homecoming game tonight. First she'll be in the Homecoming Parade and the game is after. It's the Junior Girls against the Senior Girls. KLS is a Junior. She looks so cute in her outfit for the game. I'll try to get some pictures and maybe I can post some later. She says the Seniors always win. She claims it's rigged somehow. Well we'll see.

I'm Learning

Ok. I'm starting to learn how to do things. Cathy has been helping me. She showed me this morning how to change my background. I kinda like this one for now. I'll keep playing and learning as I go.

I'm on lunch break right now, but I guess it's time to get back to work. So until next time. Have a great day!

More Monday Week 3 - 3 bottomless milkshakes

More Monday

It's Wednesday

It's been a good day today already. I finished a book I was reading and I started it's sequel. (it's a series about Homecoming Heroes) I also took KJS out for breakfast and quizzed her for her History test. Seems she knows her stuff and hopefully she'll get a good grade. We had fun at breakfast and then I took her to school and I came to work. Hope the rest of the day goes this well.
