Just the Two of Us

Since yesterday was Columbus Day, I didn't have to work. My husband took the day off too. The girls still had school as they get a fall break this coming weekend. They are off Friday and Monday. Anyway, since it was just the 2 of us we decided to do something a little different than normal.

We took a drive up north to Young's Dairy Farm. This was so much fun. We walked around and looked at the animals and just enjoyed being together. We ate lunch at the "Golden Jersey Inn" which had homestyle cooking. He ate beef and noodles and I had chicken and dumplings. Man were they good. Definitely, good old-fashioned comfort food. We then walked back to the Dairy and had an ice cream. Really good.

After we left there we went to John Bryan State Park and looked around for awhile. We haven't been there for probably ten years. We made plans to go back soon when we have time and are better dressed to go hiking. I can't wait. We used to spend so much time walking there and making plans and dreaming of our future. It was so much fun to be back.

We had to come back early to pick the girls up from school, but it was such a nice few hours with just him and me talking and spending time being together.

  1. sounds beautiful! I love those one on one times with my husband when we have no one else to consider, even if it's just for a small amount of time. I'm glad y'all were able to get away.
