Fun at K.I.

We went to Kings Island again last night after work. It was a beautiful day. Blue skies with big fluffy white clouds and about 78-80 degrees. Couldn't ask for better.

This is Delirium below. The girls didn't get to ride this because they were working on it. I don't know how anybody can ride it. It makes me very nervous just to watch it!! But they love it.

I just thought the sky and clouds were pretty here, so that's what this picture is. Hubby and I were waiting on the girls as they rode the Racer.

The girls rode the swings. I love these paintings on the top of the ride. It reminds of an old fashioned Carousel. In fact, they have a really nice carousel. I'll try to get a picture of that sometime in the future.
If you look close you can see them in the back on the left side of the picture. KLS has on red shorts and sunglasses and KJS is by her.
Here's another picture of them. It was hard to catch them because they were going by so fast.

Here's a picture of the top of the Eiffel Tower. It's is 1/3 the size of the original Eiffel Tower.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Memory Lane

Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

Come for a walk with me down Memory Lane!
And if you have a "Memory Lane" post, head on over to Scottsville to join in on the fun!

Here are my princesses or Drama Queens (as the crowns say) in June 2005. We are in a Claires in Gatlinburg, TN. My girls would rather shop than do about anything, so we spent lots of time here. I must say they are almost always up to pose for pictures.

And here they are in the same store, just wearing different crowns in December 2008. Man, they are just growing up too fast.

Memorial Day

Today has been a good day. We started out by sleeping in. I got up at 9:00am. I can't even tell you when the last time was that I slept that late. Next we went out and trimmed the bushes, pulled weeds, planted flowers and swept the porch, etc. Then we all got cleaned up and went to McDonald's for lunch.

Next we went to Kings Island Amusement Park. We got there around 2pm and had to have our pictures taken for our season's passes. We bought them about a month ago, but this is the first time we've been. Anyway the girls rode their new coaster called Diamondback. Below is a picture of them right after getting off the ride and also a picture of the first big hill. They said it was an awesome ride. Next they rode another one of their big coasters and while hubby and I waited it started to rain. My hubby doesn't ride coasters. The last time he was on a coaster it was at Kings Island when he was in his early 20's. He prayed to the Lord, "If you let me get off this ride alive, I'll never ride another coaster." He says when they were on the first hill, he was sure he could hear the angels singing, "Nearer My God to Thee." I always crack up when he tells this story. Anyway, he's always stuck with his promise!! So sometimes I ride with the girls and sometimes I just wait with him. Today I just stayed with him. We love to people watch and that is what we did while the girls rode. Anyway, it started raining so we left around 5pm and now we're home and relaxing for the evening. I think I'll go watch a movie soon.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone!!!

Project 365

I was out of town last week so I didn't get my Project 365 posted. So here are 2 weeks worth.

Saturday, May 23 - These are the yellow roses my brother got his wife for her birthday! Aren't they beautiful!!
Thursday, May 21 - KLS had this drawn on her arm like a tattoo. This was something several of the kids in the art show were doing. Although, I don't care for tattoos, I have to say this is some pretty good artwork.
Tuesday, May 19 - Chandelier inside the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
Monday, May 18 - Climbing the Sand Dunes at Lake Michigan
Sunday, May 17 - Lighthouse at St. Ignace

Saturday, May 16 - View from Fort Mackinac of one of the jet ferry's that take you back and forth from the island to the mainland.
Friday, May 15 - In the parking lot of our hotel in Mackinac City. Some of the kids in this vehicle were throwing out food for the gulls. I thought it was funny when they started landing on their vehicle.
Wednesday, May 13 - KJS modeling a shirt she was given that says she'll work for shoes. Whoever designed this shirt must know her!
Monday, May 11th - Hanging Basket of flowers given to me by a wonderful couple at church.
Sunday May 10th - This is my new summer purse. I wanted something bright. I think I succeeded. :)

Check out Sara for more Project 365 posts.

Bugs

KJS had to do a bug project for Science. I've had dead bugs in my freezer for the last 2 weeks waiting for her to do this project. Yuck!!! Anyway, she just completed it today and here it is. I think she did a good job on it.

Art Show

KLS had an Art Show at he school last night. Below are the 6 pieces of artwork of hers that the teacher chose to put in the show. The 7th piece is the one we all thought should be put in, but it was not. We've kinda wondered it if was because of who it is. If you want to see these pictures larger, you can double click on any of them.

This is called a Photo Continuation. The little boy with the book is the photo and then the rest is what she imagined the picture should contain.

This is called Selective Coloring - The assignment was to pick an object and draw it using contour lines only and then to pick a symbol that represents the original object and draw that overtop of the lines and then parts have to be colored in. This is obviously the apple and the snake from the Garden of Eden.

This is called Picture Weaving. Take 2 pictures with a similar theme and weave them together. This is Daredevil and Elektra the Super Heroes.

This is called Image Distortion. Obviously it's Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.

This is Scratch Board. It's originally a black board and you scratch off the black to engrave the image in the white underneath the black.

This is the one project KLS really hates, but I love this picture of her with her pastel portrait.

This is the one we all thought should have been in the show. Fingerprint Portrait. The whole painting is done entirely with fingerprints. KLS said she chose to do Jesus because she thought He deserved to be in the show somewhere. I mean Elvis was there and he's just the king, but Jesus is the King of Kings!!
