I just sponsored a child through Compassion today! I'm so excited! I can't wait to get my packet of information about him. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and have been putting it off. Actually, I had contacted another agency connected to our church denomination back in January and have been waiting to hear back from them. They contacted me about 3 weeks ago and asked if I was still interested and I said yes and still have not heard back. I've been hearing about Compassion for a long time now through Women of Faith and through different blogs here on the internet.
So today I finally did it. I will be sponsoring a little 10 year old boy from Ecuador named Dennis. He is so cute. I picked him because I wanted a boy since I already have 2 girls and I wanted an older child because everyone wants the little ones. He had been on the list for 6 months or longer. It said he likes art (and so does my oldest daughter) and then the topper - we share the same birthday! So there you have it. I'll let you know more as soon as I receive the information.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. We did sponsor for a long time, but stopped during the budget crunch of getting ready for the adoption. We're looking forward to doing it again.
