If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Memory Lane

Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

Come for a walk with me down Memory Lane!
And if you have a "Memory Lane" post, head on over to Scottsville to join in on the fun!

This is another one of the photos in the old files at work. Obviously it was from my birthday, probably back in the mid to late 80's would be my guess. This was an old polaroid someone scanned. Look at that hair! And to think I did that on purpose. I paid for perms to make it do that. lol

Newport on the Levee and Newport Aquarium

Kelli was gone again this weekend. She attended a Student Leadership Institute Training that she has participated in for the past 3 years. She has earned a college scholarship and this year she went as an intern and helped the first year students. She had a blast!

So while she was having a good time, Tracy, Kerri and I decided to go down to Newport on the Levee and the Newport Aquarium. This is just across the Ohio River in Kentucky. I love being down on the Ohio River and watching the boats and stuff.

First we went into the Newport Aquarium. It has been several years since we were there. It's a really nice Aquarium and we saw some pretty strange and wonderful creatures. Here are just a few.
Like these jelly fish
And here's a Little Nemo guy
Some anemomes (sp?)
A Lobster

Then we went out on the Levee and watched the river and all the activities going on.
They had Octoberfest on the Levee going on and we were watching some guy with 2 little girls doing the chicken dance. They were so cute and having so much fun.

There's Cincinnati on the far side of the river.
One of the many riverboats.

And here's what Kerri was doing most of the time. Texting! Are you kidding me?!? With all the cool stuff to see, she stuck her nose in her phone. But that was a good time to her, so I say..."Whatever" :-)
I finally got her to actually pose for a picture. I really didn't even have to nag too much.
These guys were fun. They were playing some sort of drum and the sax. They were pretty good and then they had homemade instruments that the kids could join in with. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them.
Then as we were leaving, we decided to stop and have an ice cream from Coldstone. Man! was this good. I'm not sure I've ever had one before. Wow! Good Stuff!

I love Satudays like this. Hope you all had a great weekend too.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Click the TSMSS button to check out Amy's site and to hear some more songs and to add your own.

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

I especially love the last verse. I love His mercy and that He pardons my sins. Thank you Jesus!

These two pictures are from one of my most favorite places in the world. Disney World's Magic Kingdom! I think the skies are always bluer in the Magic Kingdom!
This picture is taken from Main Street USA looking at the main entrance or the train station.

Of course, this is from the other end of Main Street USA looking at Cinderella's Castle and the statue of Walt and Mickey!

Pay it Forward Contest

My friend Erica over at Scottsville was the winner in a little game of "Paying It Forward", so in turn, she had to play the game herself. I left a comment on that post of Erica's and then I was chosen to be 1 of her 2 winners by her cute and oh so sweet and smart son Cameron! I mean after all he picked me, right? Doesn't matter that it was by random selection, he still must be all of those things I said. lol Thanks Cameron!! And by the way if you've never visited Erica, you really need to do so. She's a lotta fun and takes the greatest pictures ever.

Well, I received my gift yesterday in the mail. Would you like to see what I won? First of all, Erica you did a terrific job of picking a gift. I totally love it and it is perfect for my house. Here it is.
Aren't these the cutest pictures you've ever seen. I've already figured out where I'm going to hang them. She also gave me chocolate Hugs and a really sweet note. Thanks Erica. It was so much fun getting this in the mail when I came home from work yesterday.

Now, I get to Pay It Forward and send a prize to two winners. I've never had a give-a-way on here before and I'm really looking forward to Paying it Forward. Here are the rules:

In order to win, you need to be willing to...
Give me your mailing address so I can send a small gift your way.
Write your own Pay It Forward post after you receive your gift telling about it, and in that post link back to my blog.
Come up with gifts to send out to YOUR 2 winners.

*If that sounds like rules you can follow, then please leave me a comment letting me know you'd like to be entered! Anyone may leave a comment. You do not have to have a blog.
*If you're listed above as a Follower, you may leave a 2nd comment thus doubling your odds.
*If you want to mention this give-away on your blog, you may even leave a 3rd comment. ---But I will be checking to see if you really did. You've been warned! lol

This contest will close on Wednesday night, September 30. Winners will be chosen randomly... probably by my girls or hubby. And Lord willing, I'll post the Winners next Thursday, October 1st.

Nothing Much

I got nothing much to say right now. Life's pretty good, but nothing much blog worthy today or this past weekend. We went to a Sweet 16 Party for the daughter of a guy I work with. The girls had a good time and the food was excellent.

We had really good services at church yesterday. Got take-out from a Chinese restaurant for lunch and came home and took a nap. That was good! Not blog-worthy, but I sure enjoyed it.

The Beth Moore "Living Beyond Yourself" Bible study is awesome. This week is on peace. We've done love, joy and now peace. It's pretty cool when you start realizing that the fruit of the spirit comes from him, not us. Takes a little of the pressure off. We just have to serve Him and be obedient and He gives us the love for others (even those who are hard to love). He brings the joy (in knowing we have salvation through His son. How can we not have joy when our names are in the Lamb's Book of Life?!) And peace comes from God too. He gives us peace even in times of trouble.

God is so good! And by the way, I'm kinda glad life is a little quiet right now. I need times like that sometimes. How about you?

SkyWatch Friday

Click the button above to see other skies all over the world and/or to add a photo of your own.
Here are some pictures of a rather cloudy sky while we were at Cedar Point in northern Ohio back in July. I was standing under one of the rollercoasters that passed over a walkway. Rather a unique experience and a fun place to take pictures.

E-Mail from a Good Friend That I Want to Share!

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot..My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors...
Fill your plate with bright colors...greens, yellows, reds, etc.
I went right home and ate an entire bowl of :

And sure enough, I felt better immediately.
I never knew eating right could be so easy.

Fruit of the Spirit

Our Ladies Bible Study is doing Beth Moore's "Living Beyond Yourself" which is on the Fruit of the Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galations 5:22-23 NIV

My prayer is that God will fill every inch of me with His Spirit and that the Fruit will be evident in my life. "If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him." Luke 11:13 NIV I think this verse tells us God is more than willing to fill us.

Thank you God.

Happy Birthday, First Date and Anniversaries

This has been an eventful week around here.First and foremost, today my baby girl turns 15! Yep you heard me right. Kerri's 15. Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? We took her and a friend to an area mall yesterday and they had a blast shopping. Then her friend spent the night. They're getting ready for church now, which is what I really should be doing. lol

Last Monday, Kelli had her first official date. This is the boy I told you about a couple weeks ago, that came to Kelli's daddy after church and asked if he could date his daughter. Isn't he a cutie and he's really nice too and he's a christian wanting to go into the ministry like Kelli. Anyway, they had a really good time and she gave me permission to post this picture and tell you about her date. They went and saw the new Harry Potter movie and out to dinner at Red Robin and then to a park. Sounds like a good time to me!

Also, this month marks Tracy's 13 year as pastor of our church. I think that is so cool. We've been there for 13 years, in one small church. We love those people and they seem to love us. God is so good!

Also, sometime this next week marks my 33rd year working for our local police department.
And yes folks, I was only 5 years old when I started working there! Yeah right!!! hahaha

And lastly, today is my first blogoversary!
I can't believe I've been doing this for a full year. When I started, I didn't know if it was something I'd ever be able to do or follow through with. But I have grown to really love it. Have a great day everyone!!!
