Something I Was Reminded of at Church Tonight

Do you know what command is given the most often in the Bible? Huh? Do ya? Actually, it is "Fear not" or "Don't be afraid." Did you know that this command is given 366 times in God's Word? I guess that must mean it's pretty important.

I like what my husband always tells us. There is nothing that will happen to me today that is going to take God by surprise. Do you think God ever looks down at us and says "Huh, I sure didn't expect that to happen!" I'm sorry I just can't see that happening.

You know, if we say we trust God, then really what is there to fear? There is nothing that happens to us that He doesn't know about and allow. He is in charge of it all. If we are facing something hard, will worrying help us in any way? I don't think so. In fact, I believe worry just makes things worse.

So why do we worry? Isn't God big enough to handle anything this life can throw at us. I think so. So my plan is to take God at His Word and "Fear not". How about you? What do you think?

Oh and by the way, the one time it is okay to fear is this "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;" Psalm 111:10a NIV

  3. I woke up at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep --- cuz of worrying. But not like you'd probably think.

No, I was worrying about something SILLY!!! Football portaits that I have to take of all the highschool football players this afternoon. My mind was racing and thinking and hoping I'd remember every shot I need to take.

I know... so silly. My worry did no good, only makes me sleepy today!
