If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Traveling Fun!

As soon as everyone is ready, we'll be heading up to Sandusky to take the girls to Cedar Point. Hubby says they're calling for a 60% chance of rain. Oh well, we'll just play it by ear and see what happens.

Yesterday, we went to Anderson, IN, where the headquarters for the Church of God is located. This week is the North American Convention of the Church of God. We had a good time. Last night's service was the commissioning of the new missionaries. It was pretty neat to see. I'm glad we had the opportunity to attend. It's been quite a few years since my hubby and I have gone and we've never taken the girls before.

Well I better go help get the car loaded. Have a great day everyone.

I'm Still Here!!

I haven't left the bloggy world, I've just been very busy the last few days. I had a wonderful week with all the family gone. I enjoyed my free time doing what I wanted, when I wanted and I enjoyed spending time at home alone with the dog. I blogged a little (I know very little) and moved furniture around and cleaned things out and I rested and I watched movies and I crocheted and I read. I went out to dinner with my younger sister and I went shopping and swimming and got my hair cut with my other sister. (notice I didn't say older. lol). I'll try to get a picture of the haircut sometime soon.

The girls got home on Friday and that evening I took them to see the new movie, "My Sister's Keeper" The language was a little stronger than I had hoped, but it was a really good movie. The only thing I will tell you is take a box of tissues. I bawled through 2/3 of the movie.

Hubby got home on Saturday and we've spent the last 2 days shuttling the kids back and forth for youth group activities. But at least we've been together doing it. Camps are over for the summer for the kids and they had a blast!

We are packing up right now and will be leaving town for the next 3 days. I'm planning to take the laptop (have I mentioned, I love my laptop) with me, so there may be a post or picture or two while I'm gone. If not, I'll try to catch up when I get home.

I hope everyone has a great week!!

SkyWatch Friday

Click on the SkyWatch Button above to join others from all over the world who love to share pictures of their skies. You can just click their links and look at all their pictures or you can play along and post your own and link at SkyWatch so everyone can look at the skies in your area.

The pictures I have posted here I took today. One is when my sister and I were heading out to shop this afternoon and the skies were so beautiful, so I stuck the camera out the window and took a few shots. Here's one of them.
These other 2 photos were taken in my sister's back yard after swimming early this evening. We had absolutely beautiful blue skies and big fluffy white clouds in our area today!

Your Opinion Please

I want to paint the rockers on my front porch and I'm trying to decide whether to paint them black or white or possibly just restain them. If you look at the picture below you can see the rockers as they are. The shutters on the house are black and the rails on the porch are white and the front door is a natural light oak color. Okay, which color do you think I should paint them . White or Black or just restain???

I'm off to go shopping with my sister. Then to lunch and who knows what else.

Sunday, June 14 - Another picture of the skydivers.

Monday, June 15 - Now this is my idea of home cooking! lol

Wednesday, June 17 - A beautiful pink rose.

Thursday, June 18 - Blackberries on KLS' blackberry bush. Can't wait til they ripe. This is about the 3rd year she's had this bush and usually she just gets a few berries. This year the bush is loaded!!

Friday, June 19 - Hubby's peppers! They're really tiny, but they're starting to grow.

Saturday, June 20 - I bought some light blue baby yarn today. I'm going to make an afghan for a friend (Jan, don't tell Jessie in case I mess it up) It's been several years since I've done much crocheting. Been itching to do it again and this is the perfect opportunity.

Peaceful Night

It's been a peaceful night in our home. KLS is home from camp and when I got home from work she was taking a nap. We decided to order in pizza for supper (yeah, no cooking) and it wasn't too long until she popped out to eat. We played on the computer and we watered the flowers and hubby's peppers. I cut hubby's hair and trimmed his beard. And we just sat and talked. KLS shared all kinds of stories with us about camp. It sounds like she had a truly awesome time. This is the kind of evening I love to have. Nothing special except just being home and being together. After a week of working and running around, there's no better kind of Friday night in my book. Hope yours was just as special.
Oh and we also took time to play with and love on our Lily too. :)

I Was Tagged!

My bloggy friend Lindsay-Ann at The Cross-Stitch House recently tagged me to post the 10th picture in the 1st folder on my computer. I have to be honest, the 10th picture in the 1st file was hubby and he doesn't much like his picture posted (even though he has okayed the one in the sidebar). So I switched things around and put the 10th picture from the 2nd file. Here it is.

This is KLS in 2004 at the old Disney Welcome Center in Ocala, Florida that has since been closed. She would have been 12 years old here! Naturally, we were on our way to Disney World!!

Have fun girls and thanks Lindsay-Ann for the tag!
I strongly suggest everyone to read the above blogs when you have time, they are totally awesome. Also, anyone else who wants to play along, consider yourself tagged by me.

SkyWatch Friday

Below are some pictures I took of the sky Wednesday evening. I was standing in the Church parking lot when I took the first one.
This 2nd one I took from my van. I stopped for a red light and thought the sky was so pretty, so I grabbed my camera (which I almost always have in my purse) and rolled down the window and stuck the camera out and snapped a shot before the light changed. I thought it turned out pretty good. Maybe I should take more pictures without trying so hard. lol
This flag is at a car lot in town. Every time we drive by I talk about how beautiful it is. It's absolutely humongous. This time we pulled into the lot next door and I jumped out and grabbed a couple of pics.
I bet people think I'm crazy when they see me in my van. If you read the previous post along with this one, you'll see I'm probably either singing or taking a picture as I'm going down the road. :) Click on the SkyWatch button above to join in or to view other pictures of beautiful skies from all over the world!

Songs I Love To Sing

This is a medley of choruses I love to sing on my way to work!

"This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice, I will rejoice
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made."

"I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
He has made me glad, He has made me glad.
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
He has made me glad, He has made me glad.
I will rejoice for He has made me glad."

"Ahh, Lord God, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power.
Ahh, Lord God, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy outstretched arm.
And nothing is too difficult for thee, nothing is to difficult for thee.
Great and mighty God, great in counsel and mighty in deed.
Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing.
Nothing is too difficult for thee."

No matter what, after singing all three of these, I feel better and I'm more ready for the work day than when I got in the car. As the old time preachers say, "If that don't light your fire, then your wood's all wet." So if you ever see me in the car and notice my lips moving, there's a good chance this is what I'm singing. Why don't you join me and we'll both have a better day after praising the Lord.

Books to Read

I was given 2 books to read tonight. I walked into church and 2 ladies had books for me. Everyone knows how much I love to read. One is "Finding Favor with the King" by Tommy Tenney and the other is "The Relationship Principles of Jesus" by Tom Holladay. They said they are great books that they couldn't put down. I can't wait to read them. Thanks Jan and Ida!

Have any of you read either one and if so, what did you think of them?

Skydivers!

On the way to church Sunday night we saw these skydivers and pulled over and took some pictures. These aren't the best pictures, but it was so cool watching them. As you can see some of them are jumping double. The plane landed and was getting ready to load up and take another group up. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Project 365

It's that time again. If you'd like to join in and/or see other photos from Project 365, click on the button above and visit Sara.
Sunday, June 7 - A little girl at church drew this last week and gave it to me. It's hanging on my fridge.

Monday, June 8 - KJS and I sitting on Outback awaiting our dinner. I have a pic of hubby too, but he doesn't much like his posted.

Tuesday, June 9 - My Lily finishing up a micro shake. She cracks me up when she sticks her long nose clear up to her eye in a cup. But she loves her ice cream and will do whatever it takes to get every last drop.

Wednesday, June 10 - Hubby rolled down the window of the van and took this picture on the drive home from seeing KLS at youth camp.

Thursday, June 11 - We saw this on the drive to Columbus. This picture was actually taken through the windshield of the car.

I forgot to take a picture Friday, so I posted a 2nd picture from Thursday. This was driving home from the Columbus trip. I rolled down the window and grabbed this shot.

Saturday, June 13 - Ahhh everyone is home and all the girls are relaxing watching a movie.
