The medical case brings Dr. Allenhouse a frustration and helplessness he hasn’t felt since his wife’s disappearance. Vada’s sisters are giddy at the bevy of possible suitors. And Vada’s life is awakened amid the super-charged atmosphere of romantic opportunity.

My Thoughts:  This is a fun book to read in that you get to meet some pretty interesting characters and I do mean "characters".  It's fun reading about the girls' different reactions to the boys and to the situations they are put in.  I really liked the character of Vada, although sometimes she didn't make the wisest decisions.  But then I guess we're all like that in our life, aren't we.  Sometimes we do well and other times not so much.  This book is an interesting look into the lives of an Ohio family at the turn of the century.  I very much recommend this book for reading.
