Random Dozen

1. Ever had any run-ins with the "library police?"
No run-ins, but I have had to pay my fair share of late book fees.

2. Do you have a special organizational plan and place for wrapping paper, gift bags, etc., or do you just purchase whatever you need as you give gifts?
I mostly purchase as I need, except I try to buy Christmas wrap after Christmas when it's on sale for the next year.  I buy my cards then too.  Except mostly I forget I have the cards and buy them again and then I find the ones I bought the previous year.  I have some put away that I bought a couple years ago and still haven't used them.

3. Have you ever been in (first-hand witness) a natural disaster?
We had a big tornado come through this area in 1974.  We were out on the farm a few miles away and we didn't have any problems, but a lot of our town was torn up.

4. What's your favorite Barry Manilow song?
Mandy or Copacabana.

5. What's the best costume you've ever worn?
I've never been much for costumes, but probably the best was when I dressed up as a really old woman.  Looked pretty realistic and that was before I was an old woman.  lol

6. Which do you use more often, the dictionary or the thesaurus?
Thesaurus

7. What's your favorite breakfast food?
Sausage, eggs and biscuits

8. Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial?
No...well at least I haven't called and order it that way, but I have bought stuff that was in an infomercial, but I bought it in the store.  The one I use the most would be the Flo-bee hair cutting system.  Use that on hubby's hair all the time.

9. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Yes, hasn't everyone?

10. Do you believe in love at first sight?
No, I don't think so.

11. How man pairs of jeans do you own?
2 or 3 that fit.  I don't know how many I have that don't fit though.

12. If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be? (Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on "Ace of Cakes.")
I don't know...maybe a piano or a Disney Character or Cinderella's Castle.

  1. Ha-I love #5!

I love sausage and biscuits and especially the gravy...I'm supposed to watch my salt these days so I very rarely have that treat. It's not as easy to get up here in NJ anyway but when we visit family in the south I must have biscuits and gravy.

  3. Loved #5 - wouldn't take much of a costume for me these days!

I thought about incorporating music into my cake. (As a theme, not as the cake playing music. Although that would indeed be creative! LOL)

  7. Hi Cathy-

I've enjoyed reading your responses to Random Dozen. It's a terrific meme. I've always liked a good meme and now I have started my own. We just started a new meme called "Wednesday Wickedness" and will post on Tuesday afternoons. You are welcome to do it on Tuesdays, if you do only one meme a day! We are up and posted now. Each week we pick a famous person and find 10 quotes. Then each question is based on the quotes! This week is George Clooney. Check us out at http://jjatww.blogspot.com.

    Thanks!

  9. I enjoyed your answers - I eat Jimmy Dean Delight turkey sausage & egg croissants almost every morning. I know, it's not the same - but I can delude myself, can't I?

I'm from NC, so I wasn't here in 1974, but I live in Xenia now - & I have to say, it was pretty darn scary to have those high winds on the anniversary the other week!

  10. Hi, Cathy~

Great answers! I used to bring books back late all the time. Once, the librarian said, "Do you ever bring them back on time?" I very sweetly told her, "If I did.....who would pay your salary?" I was sooooooo glad she laughed at that ! lol

    Blessings~
