If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

* Weather:  Got in the van last evening to head to the grocery and saw this...are you kidding me?!?

But then a little later in the evening I got on FB and saw this.

Puts things back into perspective a little bit.  Think I'll quit complaining about the weather and just start appreciating the good things in my life and be thankful and pray for the ones that fight to keep our country free.

*Bunheads:  Still watching and enjoying this new show.  It's not too often that I get in on the beginning of a show.  Hope it stays good.

*Cooking:  Hubby had supper ready when I got home last night (spaghetti) and it was very good.  It's so nice to come home after work and supper is ready and waiting.  I love my man!!  After dinner and clean-up, we went to the grocery and then I came home and made a pasta salad (which I am enjoying for lunch today)  Nothing like a cold pasta salad in the summer.

*Exercise:  I finally got my rear in gear and started walking again this week.  I've walked 4 nights so far and hoping I can make myself keep it up.  Gotta lose some more weight and also get myself in shape to walk the miles and miles at Disney at the end of the summer.

That's all I've got for now.  Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. During the school year, my husband makes dinner almost every night. It IS nice! I'm not much of a cook, but I'm giving it a go this summer. We are eating more of a variety.

It is hot here, too. I live near Chicago, and we are in drought conditions. However, today it rained. I sat with my book and just listened. It was such a good sound...I am convinced my flowers know the difference between rain showers and hose showers!

  4. Whenever I am tempted to complain about anything, I just think of our servicemen and women and thank God for my blessings. My problems don't seem near as big, just an inconvenience.

  5. I remember a FEW times in our married life when hubs had supper ready when I walked in the door - - - it was so nice.

I've been chuckling to myself lately about the complaints or comments on blogs about how HOT it is (even here in Central Hot-Consin it is HOT) because in just a few months, there will be complaints about how cold and how much snow there is.

    Hmmmmm - - - don't think we're ever satisfied.

  6. Excellent perspective on the heat, but it's still really hot!

I don't remember the last time I came home and supper was waiting... I was a SAHM before I was a single mom, so it was my 'job' to have supper ready... wait, my mom does it when she comes...it IS really nice!

  7. Excellent reminder that while it IS really hot here, it could be much worse. A little perspective is a good thing. I think we set new record highs for the last 4 days. Our temperatures are still going to be 100+ over the next 7 days. With no real chance for rain.
