Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Woke up this morning to a world covered with ice. Made it a little scary walking out to get in the van and then walking into work from the van. Driving was okay because the roads were pre-treated and the crews obviously have been working diligently over the night. Fortunately, it's warming up so the ice is melting nicely.

We got to Skype with Kelli last night. First time I've seen her face since she went back to school in January. She's got a new boyfriend and seems very happy right now, so that makes mama happy.

Talked to Kerri via FB messages last night and she's got a job interview today. Hoping all goes well for her. She said she's excited and scared both.

No pictures this week. I'm not sure why, but I just haven't had the camera out. I'm sure that will change next week as we'll be traveling and I can't wait to get some good pictures in the Smokey's.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

  1. I get the ice thing. We had that last night and then snow on top. I too walked very gingerly today.

Glad you were able to see your daughter. My son has a new girlfirend that he met at school too. Hasn't had a girlfriend in almost 3 years. Seems to be smiling a lot more.

  2. I'm glad your ice is melting ... it's so treacherous. Thankfully our ice was on top of the snow ... and we didn't get too much. I sure hope you plan to use your camera next week - I can't wait to see your pictures.

  3. Glad you made it safely to work. Our ice melted right before I had to leave. Thank goodness!

I'm already jealous of your Smokie Mountain trip even without pictures :)

  4. Nothing better than our children's happiness. Isn't it the best?

  5. I am glad you are okay ice is just awful. We have been pretty lucky so far this year we had ice once and it melted very quickly. We have barely had more than a dusting of snow which is supposed to happen again tonight.
I am looking forward to your photos next week I bet that will be a beautiful ride:)
I hope you like the new boyfriend. I am blessed with 3 good son-in-laws but my sons are not such good pickers..lol
    Have a blessed weekend!

  6. Yay for the interview! I love Skype! I would have such a hard time with living this far from family without that blessing.

I hardly ever remember to get out the camera ;-)
