Smoky Mountain National Park Trip In Photos

Here is a photo journey of our trip to the Smoky Mountain National Park last week.  We saw some beautiful sights, ate some great food, did a little geocaching and took lots of pictures.  We relaxed and rested and did some shopping too.  Hope you enjoy our pictures.

Mount LeConte

Overlooking Gatlinburg

Another overlook of Gatlinburg

Usually we don't take our picture, but I wanted to be able to prove that we both were really there.

We visited the place where Bush's Baked Beans are made.  There was a museum and this little cafe.  We had a nice lunch there and the museum was very interesting.  Unfortunately we couldn't actually go in the factory.

But here's a picture of the factory

Here is the Bush family home

This is an old mill we found on a little side road not far from the town where the Bush Factory was.  We actually stopped here looking for a geocache and we found it!!

We took a drive around Cades Cove and there were deer everywhere it seemed.

More Deer

There were 2 or 3 out in this woods

This is a Primitive Baptist Church in Cades Cove
The inside of the church

Another picture from outside.  I thought the sky was so pretty that day.

Now we're at a Missionary Baptist Church

I loved this shot with the sun shining down.

Here you can see the whole front of the church.  Notice the cemetery to the right.

Here's the inside.
Looking out the window of the church into the cemetery

The mountains and skies were so beautiful that day.  We took probably almost 3 hours just to do the Cades Cove Circle.

Another deer

These deer were close to the little village in Cades Cove.  Someone told me usually there is a buck that's with them, but he wasn't on this day.

The daffodils were blooming
Here's a short 1 minute video of a rushing stream.

I hope you enjoyed the photos of my trip.  We had a great time.  Although, it was a little strange without either of the girls with us.

  2. I am convinced that the Smoky Mountains are one of the prettiest places on earth. We met and got married in Knoxville, TN. and would go there all the time. Your pics. make me want to go back soon!

  3. My goodness... look at all those deer!!! They're so used to people looking at them around there, arent they?
    LOVE that place!
I had no idea Bush's beans had a factory around there to tour.
Its always fun to get a couple-picture isnt it... I hardly ever have pictures of ME since I'm behind the camera.

  7. I couldn't help but notice that in the first 3 pictures, it went from completely natural to more and more populated.... The beauty of the mountains gets more and more diluted... Just goes to show how unconcerned we are with preserving the natural beauty of the world...
