Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click the button above to visit Joyce and join in with the Hodgepodge.

1. When the children of today grow up, what do you think they'll say about this period in time? What do you most hope they remember?
I think they'll say I can't believe I really wore those clothes (such as pants halfway down, etc).  I hope they remember that when their kids do something equally as silly and have a little patience with them.

2. National Teacher's Day is celebrated in the US of A on the first Tuesday in May, this year May 7th...share how a particular teacher positively impacted you.
That's too many years ago, I don't remember.

3. What's a dish your mama made, that if set in front of you today would whisk you right back to childhood?
Chicken and dumplings...Yum!

4. Mother May I was a game we played when I was growing up...no pieces, parts, or plugs required. What games from childhood do you remember loving that were also pieces, parts, and plug-free?
Red Rover, Red Rover and tag

5. Besides your own mother, tell us about a woman who influenced you as a child?
My Aunt Diane.  She had a beautiful voice and played the piano at church.  It made me want to be just like her

6. Mamma Mia! What's the best play or musical you've ever seen?
The Sound of Music

7. What are three smells that make you feel nostalgic?
Fruit Loops Cereal...because the first time I ate them was at my grandparents house in Florida.
The smell of the cows behind our house remind me of the years we lived on a farm growing up.
I can't think of another one right now.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I think some of these questions were hard this week.  But thanks Joyce for doing them every week for us.

  1. Tag is going to be a popular answer I think. Yes, I agree, some of them were hard.

  2. I haven't had Fruit Loops in eons, but just reading the word put the scent of them into my head. We used to make necklaces with them and then eat them off the string. Have a good day!

  3. Nice to see another Red Rover fan! It always hurt whenever the other team would break apart your hands. OUCH!

  4. I didn't think about Red Rover or Tag! April's right, it did hurt when the team broke through.

  5. I forgot about Red Rover!

And funny about the 3 smells - I had a hard time coming up with the third one!

  6. Smelling cows in the morning - you must have been raised on a farm. Chicken and dumplings sound good - and I am glad you had your aunt. sandie

  8. I didn't think anyone would even know what Red Rover is and so many had it for their answer!
I've never had chicken and dumplings but it sounds delish.

  9. Yes the clothes thing drove us nuts. The lower pants had just become popular when our son was in school and we went along with it because we wanted him to fit in. Our daughter too had green hair in HS. Also felt they could be doing worse things. Red Rover....that's a good one! Fruit Loops were my all time favorite cereal.

  10. You are right, some of the questions were hard for me too this week :) I would LOVE to see the sound of music in live theater! I watch the movie at least once a year!
