Weekend Wrap-Up

Again, it has been a nice, quiet, pleasant weekend for us. And that is just the kind I like. After working and running all week, it's just nice to be quiet on the weekend.

Friday night, Kerri came and mowed our yard. They had already eaten so they didn't want supper and they didn't stay very long either. Hubby and I visited Uncle Bob (you know Bob Evan's) restaurant for supper. I had their country fried steak. I haven't eaten that in forever and it was soooo good. Then we came home and watched one of my all time favorite movies, "Apollo 13." No matter how many times I see this movie, I am always glad that they made it home safely. :)

Saturday we grabbed some lunch out and had to run around looking for gifts for the men at church for Father's Day next Sunday. Took a little while, but we finally found something. Next year, we really need to do this a little earlier. By this time, things are picked over a lot and it gets difficult to find an inexpensive, nice little gift to let them know the church appreciates them. Then we relaxed at home for a while and then visited with my parents and family.

Sunday was church and out to lunch at our local Mexican restaurant and home for a nap. After all, hubby's sermon was on the 4th Commandment to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. So we worshiped and rested.

Also, throughout the weekend I've been reading. I just got the Kensington Chronicles Series by Lori Wick on my Kindle and I'm reading book one, The Hawk and the Jewel. I read this years ago when she first wrote it and loved this series then. My sister and I would keep a watch out for her books as she wrote them. I remember finishing one and then having to wait for the next. As soon as we found out it was finished, one of us would run out and buy it and then we'd both read it. Well, now I'm re-reading this series. If you're looking for a good christian novel, this would be it. Or actually, any of her novels are awesome. I'm hoping to eventually have them all on my Kindle because these are books that every few years I could see myself re-reading. Lori Wick is definitely my all-time favorite Christian Fiction writer.

And that's it for my weekend. Now I need to finish getting ready and head out to work. Hope you all have a great day and a great week.

I'm always on the lookout for good fiction, especially Christian fiction. I'll go check out her books on amazon.com.

  5. One of the ladies in my Bible study group loves reading Lori Wick. I will have to see if our library has any books by her.
