Wednesday Hodgepodge

Yay!  It's Wednesday and time for the Hodgepodge.  I hope you will choose to play along this week.  There are so many nice people to meet and get to know.  Click the button and you can meet the first one, Joyce at From This Side of the Pond.

1. Thursday marks the first day of spring...to celebrate would you rather plant a garden or go for a walk in the woods? Would either of those activities be possible on Thursday where you live?
I would really rather walk in the woods.  While I love fresh veggies from the garden, gardening is something I really have never enjoyed.  Not even planting flowers. But a walk in the woods or a park  is a good thing.  Especially if I can throw in a little geocaching along the way.

2. When did someone last spring something on you? (or when did you last spring something on someone?)
I can't think of anything right now.

3. We often think of spring as a time for new beginnings. What's something you'd like to start doing this spring?
I would like to get serious about walking again.  I used to walk 6-10 miles a week and I've really slacked off.  I feel so much better when I'm walking.  I know it would be very good for me and I think it would be good for the puppy too.

4. Where do you like to sit in a movie theatre? When did you last sit there, and what were you watching?
I'll sit anywhere as long as I can sit by hubby.  The last time was in South Carolina and we went to see "Ender's Game."  If he's not there then I prefer to sit about midway up and towards the center of the screen.  But I'm really not that picky.  I'll really sit anywhere that I don't have someone blocking my view.  The last movie I saw was "Saving Mr. Banks" and it just came out in the stores today along with Frozen.  I plan to buy both of them soon.

5. When you meet someone for the very first time, what do you want them to think about you?
That I'm friendly and that I'm someone they'd like to get to know.

6. March is frozen food month (yes, really!). Besides ice cream (gotta make you think a little) what's your most often purchased frozen food item?
Frozen lunches for work.  They may be Weight Watchers, Marie Callender's, etc.  Just something to grab on the way out the door when I have no other lunch plans.

7. What's something you avoid?
Hateful people or people who are always negative.  I prefer to be around positive people.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
It was a pretty drive into work Tuesday.  Here are a couple of pictures.  No, I wasn't driving, hubby was.

This is across the street from the entrance of our subdivision.  Lots of times there are horses running in this field.

This little cemetery is only about a mile from our subdivision.  It's a pretty little place.

The sky was really pretty, but my pics don't really do it justice.
Hope you all have a great day!  Remember to visit Joyce when you leave here.

  1. I tried geocaching once and I soon discovered that I just don't have the patience for it. I wanted to find the "prize", immediately, and move on to the next one. I'm looking so forward to the weather warming back up and being able to go to the park to walk/run. I absolutely love being outdoors when the weather is nice. Love those pretty views you took pictures of, Cathy! I could look at that all day long!

  2. I love the barn photo! There is something about a barn sitting in a field that makes me feel nostalgic. I don't know why that is, but it's true. I look forward to seeing Frozen too. We didn't see it in the theater. Enjoy your day!

  5. Nice pictures. I noticed, this past weekend, how pretty everything is getting. Many trees are already covered in blossoms here.
I need to get back to walking some, too. I may dust off the treadmill until the weather cooperates more...

  6. I used to buy those frozen lunches from WW too, but since I have gone gluten free I have stopped. I missed them. Soo many of them were so good. Love the pictures...especially the barn. Have a good day!

  9. Your drive to work would be my worst nightmare! And the thought of driving back in the darkness...I shudder to think about it. Aspers and trees typically don't go well together, it's sensory overload at the worst level...noises and movements from every single direction...ugh! We tend to be extremely sensitive and all our senses running at once is just too much.

But on the positive side of being an Asper, I've met tons of so-called positive people with extremely negative "auras" (for lack of a better word) and vice versa. Ever been around an extremely nice person that, for some reason, you just didn't take to? Guaranteed there is a negative energy shooting out and, no matter how adept at faking it they are, they can't hide their true nature if someone is sensitive to it. I tend to avoid those people probably more so than anyone else...a bad attitude could be caused from external factors like a headache, a bad homelife, job, etc, but if their core is good, I've been known to overlook a lot of bad behavior. But I wish I had a dime for everytime I've been told, "oh, I understand why you didn't like so and so" when that sweet, positive, upbeat, helpful person turns out to be the devil incarnate!

Point of that long stupid rant is sensitivity to things is bad in the woods, but good when it comes to judging people!

Oh, and I love your walk comment...but, of course, mine would have to be done on a treadmill inside the safety of my house!

  10. I can't take good pictures of fabric nor of sunsets/sunrises. :-( I love your photo of the barn ... the way the sun is shining on it but not on anything in the foreground really makes it pop!

  11. Me too, I need to get very serious about walking. Lot's of people said this today! I bought Frozen on Tuesday but didn't realize Saving Mr. Banks was out too. My daughter is negative and having her here now for 4 years I find myself down often. It is a lovely drive and I would love to walk around that cemetery.
