If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Friday Fragments and SkyWatch Friday

Half-Past Kissin' Time

It's time for Friday Fragments and along with that I'm doing SkyWatch Friday.  Click on the button on the left to join in with Friday Fragments and click here to join in with SkyWatch Friday.

**  Tracy's uncle passed away and we went to the funeral Tuesday night.  You know funerals are a different kind of experience when the deceased lived to a ripe old age (90) and was prepared to meet our Lord.  His uncle's funeral was more of a celebration than a sad affair.  It is good to know where you are going when you die.

**  We got 3 hanging baskets of purple flowers and 1 patio bowl of green plants and flowers.  That is all I intend to have this year.  Hoping I can keep them alive.  I usually buy a lot more and then kill them by mid to late June.  Maybe I can work with this 4.  Time will tell.

**  Here are what our skies look like Thursday evening.  SkyWatch Friday

**And now, after seeing this on a friend's blog, I decided I wanted to do a short Summer Bucket List. I'm hoping like her, that by posting it here, it will actually help me to follow through on it.
     1.  I want to read several books.
     2.  I want to finish re-doing our bathroom.
     3.  I want to wash all the windows in our house.
     4.  I want to clean the garage and get rid of a bunch of stuff.
     5.  I hope to find at least 25 more Geocache's (that will make more than a 100 that we've found).
     6.  I hope to go on several picnics.
     7.  I hope to go stargazing at least once or twice this summer.  Hoping one will be at Caesar's Creek.  Wanting to try our new stargazing app.
     8.  We're hoping to buy a new van.
     9.  I want to make reservations and plan a November vacation.  Disney or Myrtle Beach...we'll find out.
   10.  I also want to start and complete the new Beth Moore Bible Study, Children of the Light.  I already have it and she is going to be doing it on her website starting next week.

So that's all for Friday Fragments and SkyWatch Friday.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What news story are you following right now?
I really don't watch the news, if I can avoid it.

2. What's the last thing you wanted but didn't get?
Can't think of a thing right now.  I pretty much have everything I want.

3. May 28th is National Hamburger Day...when did you last have a hamburger? Other than your own kitchen or BBQ grill, where is your favorite place to go for a hamburger? And for all you non-meat eaters out there...when you're invited to a cookout what is the one side dish you hope is on the menu?
Last night.  On the way back home after the visitation and funeral of hubby's 90 year old uncle, we stopped at a White Castle's and I had 3 of them for my supper.  If you've never had one, let me tell you, you are missing it.  Yummy!  We call them belly bombs because usually you pay after eating them.  haha

Picture from internet

4. How have your priorities changed over time?
God is gradually getting me to learn to take care of myself and quit worrying about what other people do.

5. What's a favorite memory with your grandparents?
I remember going on a cruise with my family and my grandma and her sister went with us too.  They were always so much fun.  I was in my early 20's and I remember they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne (now remember, I've never had anything alcohol to drink before or since).  I tried it and it tasted terrible to me, so my great aunt drank hers and mine too.  She loved it! She was always a hoot! I was blessed to have my mom's mom until I was in my late 20's.  She was my last surviving grandparent.  But I was in high school before I lost any of them and I think that's pretty special to have been able to have all 4 all through my younger years.

6. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being fantastic!), how good are you at multitasking? Share an example.

Enough said!

7. How would you summarize your highs and lows for the month of May?
My oldest graduated college and is now home with us for the summer, so I'd say that's a pretty good high.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Man, I wish I could relax like my dog does.  She just completely wipes out when she's tired and sleeps in some of the funniest positions.

Wiped out on the couch the other night with her head completely thrown back

I woke up in the middle of the night and found Lucy sleeping like this.

Another evening wiped out on the couch.

Friday Fragments

Half-Past Kissin' Time

Thought I'd do some fragments of our trip.

We went to Downtown Disney a couple of times.  We always enjoy this place.

I love shopping here.

This one of my favorite picture spots at Downtown Disney.

I want this painted on my bathroom wall or door.  Can you imagine someone telling you this every day.

We ate at one of our favorite seafood restaurants in Titusville, FL.  It's called Dixie Crossroads.

And we got this wonderful shrimp and corn fritters.  I also had some of the best ever clam chowder!  Can I just say DELICIOUS!!
We saw the ocean

We saw palm trees.

We saw this big wood stork.

We relaxed on a dock at Port Canaveral.  Those are large cruise ships in the background
We saw this beautiful bird while relaxing along the St. John's River

This bird was there too.

Kelli and her roommate at Downtown Disney in Mickey ear's grad cap

We took a boat ride and learned about sponge diving in Tarpon Springs

This was such a beautiful day.
So there are some fragments of our trip.  We had an awesome time. Now it's on to a 3 day weekend.  Hope you all have a great one!

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Under what circumstances do you do your best thinking?
Wait! I'm supposed to be thinking?!?  lol  I need quiet and peace to do my best thinking.
In fact, sitting on this balcony and looking at this is a wonderful place to think.

2. Are you a risk taker? What's one big risk you've taken?
No, not really.

3. Some of the most common phobias according to the National Institute for Mental Health are-fear of spiders (arachnaphobia), snakes (ophidiophobia), heights (acrophobia), fear of spaces from which escape is difficult (agoraphobia), fear of thunder and lightening (astrophobia), fear of dogs (cynophobia), injections (trypanophobia), social situations, flying (pteromerhanophobia) and fear of germs and dirt (mysophobia). True phobias affect only about 10% of adults, but of those listed which would you rate as your greatest fear?
Arachnaphobia

4. Are you settled or do you feel the need to move somewhere new?
I'm happy where we are for now.  However, eventually, I would like to sell our house and buy a condo in our same area.  And then maybe when we retire spend some of the winter months near a beach somewhere.

5. What is something you find annoying when dining in a restaurant?
Screaming children and obnoxiously loud adults.

6. Daffodil yellow, sunset orange, spring green, or sky blue...your favorite color this time of year?
Sky blue for sure.
This is the color sky I love.

7. If you were going to take a holiday all by yourself, where would you go?
I cannot ever imagine me taking a vacation by myself, but maybe the ocean would be the place.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Here's a picture of Kelli with her daddy on graduation day.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Better late than never, right?

1. It's still May, right? When were you last in the middle of something that might be described as mayhem?
Maybe some of the traffic situations this past week while on our trip.

2. When did you last feel dismayed?
Monday but I won't be sharing why right now.

3. What's a food combination you like, but other people may find strange?
I really can't think of a thing, because after all, if I like it, I wouldn't think it was strange.  lol

4. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." Do you think that's true? Why or why not?
No, I don't really think it's true.  Because lets face it, it is way to late in my life to become an astronaut or a doctor.

5. US News and World Report listed the best historic destinations in the US as follows-Washington D.C, Philadelphia PA, Williamsburg VA, Charleston SC, Boston MA, Richmnd VA, Savannah, GA, Santa Fe NM, Yellowstone, San Antonio TX, San Francisco CA, New Orleans LA, and Charlottesville VA.

Of those listed how many have you seen in person? Which two sites on the list would you most like to see in person?
I've been to Washington D.C., Williamsburg, VA, Charleston, SC, New Orleans, LA.

I'd love to see Philadelphia, PA and Boston MA

6. May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. If you had to participate in a single fitness activity for the next half hour, which activity would you choose?
Walking.  In fact, my daughter and I have walked that last 2 nights.  Trying to get back into the routine of walking 4 or 5 times at week at least.

7. What did you like best about the city, town, or neighborhood where you grew up?
The people I knew.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Here's to hoping, I'll eventually get back to the routine of blogging again.

Friday Fragments number 300!!

Half-Past Kissin' Time
It's time to celebrate with Mrs4444's her Fraggin Fantastic Tercentennial Celebration.  That is 300 Friday Fragment posts.  Way to go Mrs4444's.  I've only been participating for a short time, but I love it and I know you will too.  So click the button above to see the rules of her give-a-way contest and then click home to go to her 300th post and you can join in there to play along.

Well, Kelli made it!  She graduated college on Saturday!  I'm so proud of her accomplishments.  Now, she is planning to take 6mos to a year off to work and make some money and then she plans to go after her Masters.  She's home with us for about 3 months or so and then plans to move back to FL with some girlfriends and so she can be closer to her boyfriend (plus that is where she'll go for her masters).  So excited for her.

So for the next 3 months or so, hubby and I will again be sharing the house with an adult.  I've moved back into our bathroom already.  See when it's just us, we use both bathrooms which makes things so much easier in the morning.  But it's worth the inconvenience to have her home with us for awhile.

We had a great trip to FL and I'll be posting some pics and maybe some videos next week about our trip.

This will be all the frags I have this week, cause I really need to get back to laundry, putting things away and making a grocery list.  We are out of everything!  haha

So, see you next week!
