If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. I've read several posts and status updates recently describing end of year school field trips. Do you remember taking school field trips as a kid? Where did you go and do you recall a favorite? For any parents responding today, have you ever chaperoned a school field trip, and if so where?
As a child I remember going to the Cincinnati Zoo and also Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  I loved them both and still do to this day.  I also remember going to both of those same places with my girls as a chaperone.

2. What's something you're tired of seeing online?
Commercial ads for things I have looked up when considering to buy something.

3. June is the month for roses. Which of the following expressions would you say has most recently applied to your life-'everything's coming up roses', 'there's no rose without a thorn', 'came out smelling like a rose', or 'wearing rose-colored glasses'?
Usually, I'd say wearing rose-colored glasses.  Because I always look for that silver lining and if I find something, then I just hang onto that as hard as I can.  But currently I'd have to say there's no rose without a thorn.  Life for my family is pretty difficult right now and at the moment I'm having trouble finding a silver lining.

4. When grilling outdoors do you prefer gas or charcoal? Who does the grilling at your house? What's the last thing you ate that was cooked on a grill?
I prefer gas and hubby does most of the grilling, but I will from time to time.  The last thing I had on the grill was a hamburger tonight and it was delicious.

5. Are you afraid of the dark?
Depends where the dark is.  In the safety of my home, no.  Out in the dark night somewhere I'm unfamiliar with, yes.

6. Share a favorite song with a number in it's title.
 How about this one.

7. "Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."(C.G. Jung). Do you agree? Why or why not?
I agree because usually what really irritates you in others is something you probably do yourself to some extent.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I've just started Beth Moore's new study, "Children of the Day".  That's the summer Bible study on her website.  Click here if you'd like to join in with her.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear that your family is going through a rough patch right now. {{{hug}}}

I just love Beth Moore's studies. I did an online study ... a video study offered by Lifeway ... gosh, that must have been 11 years ago now ... I loved it! And I've always wanted to do another. I think I just might join in this study. Thanks for the heads up and the link.

  4. In reply to your comment on my post: How interesting that you are from the same town as the lead singer of Diamond Rio! It's a small world, isn't it?
I hope that 'rough patch' you're going through soon smooths out. Hang in there!

  5. What I've been seeing more of lately, is once I've searched for something, that something comes up in ads on places I frequent. I find that annoying. Just because I happened to search for it, doesn't mean I want to see it for days on end as ads everywhere I go.

  6. I'm sorry you are having trouble seeing the silver lining right now. When I get that way, only one thing gets me through: to know that Jesus is interceding for me. Because honestly, people will sometimes pray, but often forget despite meaning well. Or they'll pray a little, but fail to keep at it in intercession. I know that, according to scripture, "He ever lives to make intercession" for me. Hold onto that today. When you're asleep, when you don't know what else to pray, when you doubt that others are praying for you and your family, remember that Jesus is praying for you. He lives (and LOVES) to do that.

  7. I saw Beth Moore's tweet about the bible study and wanted to check it out. Maybe I should still do that.

  9. Aww, Cathy. I admire you for continuing to blog. It seems the times there's something going on with my family, I just don't have my heart into blogging. Hang in there!

  10. I almost joined in that Bible Study - but doing the She Reads Truth one too & didn't want to get confused. You'll have to tell me how you like it at the end.

  12. I'd love to know how the study goes. We are thinking of that one for the fall. I'm sorry things are so difficult at the moment. Sometimes life is extra hard. I will add your family to my prayers. xo
