If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. When was the last time you relocated? Did you move yourself or leave it to the professionals? Are you happy staying put or is there a move in your future? Best thing about moving to a new city or town? Least favorite and/or hardest thing about moving house?
We last relocated 19 years ago when we built this house and moved in.
We hired movers. But they called us the morning of the move and cancelled on us because they claimed they were under contract with a big local steel mill and they had to go there. I asked them what about the contract they had with us but they still refused to come. So we moved ourselves because we have such wonderful families that stepped up and helped. I don't know what we would have done without them.
At this time we've decided to stay here.
We've always lived in this area so I can't really answer that question.
Least favorite and hardest is packing.

2. When were you last 'moved to tears'? Explain.
I'm not sure. Maybe at my brother's memorial service.
No explanation needed

3. Do you have rules about eating in the car...any forbidden foods? What's the last thing you consumed in your car? Your go-to car snack when traveling long distance?
No rules.
Last thing I ate was a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds.
Trail Mix is my travel snack.

4. Share a favorite song relating to cars and/or driving.
"On the Road Again". Hubby has always sung that as we are leaving on a trip.

5. What's your most frequently visited drive-thru...Starbucks? the bank? the pharmacy? some other window?
McDonalds. See #3.

6. "He who hesitates is lost"...would you agree? When it comes to making decisions do you generally act quickly or do you more often than not fall into the 'lost' category?
Not necessarily.
Depends on what's being decided.

7. When was the last time you got lost? Was it stressful or an unexpected happy adventure?
I'm not sure when the last time was but the worst time was 26 years ago in Golden, Colorado. We drove in circles forever trying to get out of that town.
Yes, it was a little stressful. I mean 26 years later and I still remember it.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am so ready for vacation. I'm thinking I may take Friday off and have a three weekend. Sort of a mini vacation.

  1. Oh goodness! I cannot believe your moving company cancelled on you! I think I would have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!!!

  2. When we bought our first home, the sellers moving company failed to show. He was a single guy and hubs and I and my family helped him move his belongings out. The house was so dirty, so a friend of my sister's cleaned while we moved. He was moving locally so not bad, but it was soooo hot!! Definitely a team effort. Hope you get that three day weekend!

  3. How awful of that moving company, but how fabulous of everyone to step in to help. You chose he same traveling song as I did. And I understand the memory from Golden, Colorado. We got lost in Vail about 15 years ago and the memory lingers for me to this day. My husband and I laugh about it because we trusted Mapquest and ended up going in circles.

  5. I am sure we got lost traveling back then too! With Google Maps and GPS we can now find our way pretty well these days. It's funny because here I am at home everyday yet I crave a vacation......

  6. I love mini-vacations just because I do it in smaller bursts: let myself go home early and enjoy my quiet house for a while before everyone gets home.

  7. Pre GPS days were a stressful time to travel in unknown areas. We all could relate some harrowing tales of going in circles, I'm sure. Even with a car GPS and iPhones, Hubby still likes to take along the large Atlas when we travel. He just seeing it all in context, I think. Enjoy your mini vaca.

  8. How awful to have the movers cancel on you, but it's good that family stepped in to help :)
I like your choice of 'traveling songs'. We've sung that one on some of our road trips, as well.
If you do decide to take that 'mini vacation', I hope you enjoy it :) I was at the beach again, yesterday, and it was heavenly...

  9. I thought about that song, my hubby and I always sing that one, but Jesus Take The Wheel came to my mind first. How awful that the movers canceled on you. Wow! Sounds like you could use a mini vacation actually I believe I could use one too! lol

  10. Goodness we've only moved once and used professionals. I don't know how we would have managed if they'd failed to show. After that experience I'd be staying put too!
