If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Today is Day 20 of the 31 Day Writing Challenge with a prompt from Five Minute Friday. The prompt for today is "Temporary."

Do you know that this world is just our temporary home?  Do you know that someday Jesus is coming back to take His children home to heaven for eternity?  If we have repented and believed who He is, heaven will be our permanent home. Check out Romans 10: 9-10.

I can't even imagine what heaven will be like. If God made earth this beautiful (and He did) and it is only temporary, what in the world must heaven be like?  I mean it has been created for eternity. I know it has to be so much more than my mind can ever imagine. But it is fun to think about. The Bible mentions streets of gold and walls of jasper and gates of pearls. Can you imagine?

And Jesus will be there. We'll actually get to sit down and talk with him.  I'll get to see my mom and brother again too, and all my other friends and family.  It's gonna be so wonderful.

So while I love this world, I'm looking forward to the day I get to go to heaven.

  1. Good morning! The minute I heard what the word prompt was this morning that was the first place my head popped too....lol....."of like minds" right? This IS our temporary home. I love that song by Carrie Underwood. Are you familiar with it? Your soo right though, can you only imagine what heaven is like when there is such incredible beauty here? Can't wait to actually talk with Jesus and with my mom and grandmothers again. Soo wonderful. Enjoy your day!

  2. Oh gosh... the song "I can only imagine" comes to mind. I can't wrap my head around what our real 'home' is like :)

  3. I'm right there with you, Cathy!

  4. This is a topic I love! We are only aliens here, temporary residents. Hopefully, we should stand out because our goals should be different.
