If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Five Minute Friday - Present

Five Minute Friday is where you write about the prompt for five minutes and then stop. Today's prompt is Present. Click the button above to join in.

Our present is not what I would like it to be. My father is failing and if something doesn't change, he won't be here long. He's got dementia and although his labs all come back good, he is not thriving. I don't know if he's given up or if his mind can even think that way any more. We get very little communication from him and he barely eats. But if it's time, I'm okay with that because I trust God to know best.

My husband is having some really bad back issues presently. I'm sitting in the waiting room as he is seeing the doctor. He's been seeing the chiropractor and we believe he is helping, but he believes there is a lot of inflammation. So we are hoping the doctor will give him something for that. Poor man had to do a funeral yesterday sitting in a chair because he can't stand that long. Even in a chair he did an awesome job in this wife's opinion.

So that's our present. Not much fun. But I know God is here and will help us each step of the way.

  1. I'm glad you joined the FMF today Cathy. It is so hard to see parents changing before our very eyes. And I hope your hubs back issues can be resolved without surgery. Take care.

  4. Things will get better, but you know that!
    Hopefully the doctor had some insight to your husband's back trouble and he'll get some relief soon.
    It's so hard seeing our parents age and see them change. {hugs!}

  5. Cathy, you are going through a difficult time and I'm sorry for that. Your husband's back...do you know if his diet is adding to the inflammation? Google it and check it out. Seriously, I had to give us a lot of food years ago to keep a sciatica problem at bay. IT WORKED!

  7. Sometimes we get presents we'd like to give back, don't we? I'm sorry you can't give both of these back! A quiet prayer from this corner of the world that God will reveal himself through the trials in your life.

  9. I am sorry for the difficulties your father is facing. Aging is not easy and it is hard to watch our loved ones go through it. I am glad your husband is getting some relief from the chiropractor and hopes he gets more relief quickly. I am a faithful chiropractic patient :) I prayed for you and these situations this morning.
