Update

How about an update?  I'm doing well.  Good days and not so good days.  But overall, I'm well.

I've completed the 1st round which was the bad chemo (the red devil).  There were 4 of those, 1 every other week and it is done.  I will never have to do that again in my lifetime as I have had the maximum dosage allowed.

I have now started the 2nd round which is Taxol and I have to do that every week for 12 weeks.  I have completed the first 2.  I think the symptoms were a little milder and the Dr. says they should get less and less over the next few weeks and then around week 5 or 6 they may start making me more tired again, but still not be as bad as the others.  That's good news.

I did get to talk to the oncologist yesterday and he seems very pleased.  He said he can tell it's working and that the tumer is shrinking.  Yay!!  Good news!

So life is good and God has everything under control!

So how are you doing?  I've been reading a lot of your posts, but I'm not commenting a lot, just trying to keep up with you.  I'll get back to this blogging thing one of these days.

  7. So glad you decided to share an update with us. I have wondered how you were doing. Such a big enemy, cancer, but thank goodness our God is far bigger! I will continue to pray for healing, strength and comfort.

  8. Cathy,
I was so excited to see a comment from you today! I've been praying for you a lot and wondering how you are doing. (Somehow I'd missed this last post from you.)
I'm glad to hear you are getting your treatments behind you, and that they are working!
I can only imagine about those "red devil" treatments, but, hey, you made it through them :)
I hope you were able to have a nice Mother's Day. I also hope you will continue to improve, and, one of these days all of your health woes will be a distant memory. Take care! I'll continue to pray :)

  10. It IS good news, Cathy, but still, cancer is such an ordeal, isn't it! You're a brave woman, but your faith is in the right place - not yourself, not your doctors, but in God who controls the universe. Blessings. OH, and BTW about the Lemon Oreos, I don't dare buy another package. Mr. C. doesn't like sweets and I could end up eating the entire package. So they'll stay in the store.
