If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's time for the Hodgepodge again.  Why not play along?

1. Give us three rhyming words that say something about your Thanksgiving holiday (or your most recent holiday gathering if you didn't celebrate Thanksgiving).
restful - hubby and I took a couple naps
peaceful - both girls had other plans, so it was just hubby and I
tasteful - we did not do the traditional Thanksgiving feast, we did a beef roast and noodles-Yummy

2. When did you last say, 'the more the merrier'? Did you mean it?
I have no idea when I last said this.  But if I said it, I'm sure I meant it

3. What's one piece of advice you'd give someone who is your same age?
Take care of yourself physically and live for Jesus.

4. You're ordering a veggie plate, what four veggies are on it?
Baked Potato, Turnip Greens, Green Beans, Tomatoes if their fresh from the garden

5. Shop til you drop! Did you? Have you ever? Will you between now and Christmas?
I have and will continue to do most of my shopping online this year.

6. What's your favorite chair in your house, and why is it a favorite?
The recliner...I have spent a lot of time in it this year during my illness.  I'm currently not comfortable sleeping in the bed, so for the past couple of months I'm even sleeping in it.

7. Share an early memory of faith, religion, or spirituality.
I was probably about 3 or 4 when mom and dad got saved.  From that point on I have always been in church.  I remember as a kid, I especially loved the music and would sing every word.  I still love the old hymns and music of the church.

Thankful Thursday

I'm linking up with Knit by God's Hand for Thankful Thursday. Thank you Rebecca for reminding me to be deliberately thankful. It is so easy to forget and just take life for granted.

Here are some things I am thankful for today.

1.  This may seem odd, but I'm thankful for numbness. When they did my surgery, they cut some nerves which has caused me to be pretty numb in that area. It turns out that I have burned pretty badly from the radiation. But the numbness keeps the pain from being too awful. So to me, the numbness is a real blessing from God.

2.  I'm so thankful for my husband. He has been with me every step of the way this past year. He has taken care of me and encouraged me when I've gotten down. He is so wonderful!

3.  I'm thankful for all who have prayed for me and for each word of encouragement I've received. God has truly blessed me with wonderful family and friends.

4.  I'm thankful for my girls and my little grandson. While we won't be with them today, I hope they have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thankful Thursday

It's "Thankful Thursday at Knit by God's Hand.  Click the button above to join in.  Here are some things I am thankful for this week.

1.  Good report from Doctor.  She doesn't think I'm going to blister from the radiation treatments as she thought I might.  I'm so thankful for this.  I was so afraid of burning really bad after what she had said in the beginning.  God is so good.

2.  I'm happy to be back at work...at least for 4 hours a day anyway.

3.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to be at home most evenings this week.  It's giving me time to do laundry, but also to get some extra rest I need right now.

So what are you thankful for this week?

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Time for the Hodgepodge and I thought I'd play along this week.

1. Let's all think happy thoughts...share one of yours here.
I may get to go to the ocean in March.  I'm looking forward to that possibility.

2. There's a Chinese proverb that says, "If you want happiness for an hour take a nap, if you want happiness for a day-go fishing...." What say you? If you want happiness for a day _____________.
Knowing I can spend the day with my hubbby doing whatever we want makes me happy especially if it's at the beach.

3. Where do you go to decompress from the world around you?
My home or if I'm really lucky, the beach.

4. What song never fails to make you happy?
Any beach song by the Beach Boys

5. Wednesday is National Fast Food Day. Should that be a thing? Apparently it is, so tell us what's the last 'fast food' you consumed? If you were putting together your own version of a 'happy meal' what would you include?
Why shouldn't it be a thing?  Everything else has a day.  lol  The last fast food I had was at breakfast and it was a McDonald's Breakfast Burrito.  My Happy Meal would be a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-a, Burger King fries, and a diet Coke.

6. In a few sentences tell us why you blog.
Because I enjoy the people I've met through blogging and because I love getting to know them better.  Plus I love having a record of our life.
7. List seven things you're feeling especially grateful for today.
My Husband
My Church
My Doctors and other caregivers over the past year.
My God
Our home
Our girls
My grandson
These are not necessarily in order.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Is anyone else watching Survivor this year?  I so enjoy this show.

Thanksgiving/Christmas

I just read Knit by God's Hand's post and she reminded me of the local station we have playing Christmas music. I was able to get it online so I can listen here at work. Now I'm getting in the mood to decorate. We may have to start this week. I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. It's going to be sad because Kelli can't come home. But it's going to be fun too with a new grandson. We'll just have to make the best of Kelli being gone and hopefully FaceTime with her.

I know Thanksgiving hasn't come yet and believe me I am very thankful this year, that I am still here and almost through with my treatments. Praising God for that. But I may be doing that thankfulness with Christmas decorations up. How about you? Do you decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving? If we do, I'll try to post some pictures and I'd love to see your pictures too.

In the meantime, here's another picture of Colton.

Have a blessed day!

Thankful Thursday

I've been gone for awhile, but thought I'd check in today. It's Thankful Thursday at Knit by God's Hand. I know it's late in the day, but I think I'll join in.

1.  I'm thankful to be over halfway through my radiation treatments. God has really been taking care of me. As far as I know, this is the last thing I have to do except for possibly taking a couple of pills daily for awhile.  They believe if there were any cancer cells left after the surgery, that the radiation should take care of it.

2.  I haven't shared here on my blog yet, but if you follow me on FB or Instagram, I'm sure you have seen. I'm a grandma now. And let me tell you I love it. I'm so thankful for my new little grandson. His name is Colton Bryce and he is adorable. Here are a few pictures.  You may want to get used to seeing lots of his pictures, as I'm quite enamored with him.

Just a few days old

Learning to smile.  I love this picture so much!!
 3.  I'm thankful that Kelli is visiting us this week from Florida.  I have enjoyed being with her so much.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures except for the one above with her holding Colton.

So, what are you thankful for this week?
