Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What makes you feel accomplished? Explain.
Right now we are currently going through closets and boxes and cleaning out stuff and I feel very accomplished when another box is empty and another closet is cleaned.  We also had some large bushes and trees removed yesterday that we have been needing to do for the last year or so.  Even though I didn't do the work, I feel accomplished because we finally got it done.  It looks so good too.  It makes me very happy.
2. If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? Tell us why.
Carol Burnett, because I love her and think she is so funny and it would be awesome to talk to her.
Beth Moore, because I admire her love for Jesus and how she wants to help others learn about Him.
Joan Lunden, because I just recently listened to her book and I would love to give her an opportunity to tell more people about her battle with breast cancer and because I would like to be able to compare our two stories and  share with others to encourage them in their battle.
3. Do you have a great burger recipe? What's in it? What do you like on a hamburger and where is your favorite spot to order one out?
No, I don't really have a special burger recipe.  I like my burgers very simple with American Cheese, mayo and tomatoes.

4. What's the biggest anxiety producing thing you do on a regular basis?
Probably doctor's visits.  I have to do them quite often and I do get a little anxious.  But I mostly try to just leave it all in Jesus hands.

5. This is the last Hodgepodge of May. Tell us about your summer plans.
My plans are just to enjoy the summer as much as I can.  I'll be working and won't be taking another week off until late August/early September.  I'm just so thankful to be alive and feeling so much better than last year at this time.  Hubby and I will probably do a lot of day trips on Saturdays and may make another run or two up to see our grandson.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
I need to get our camera pictures downloaded so I can show you some of the stuff we did last week on our Staycation.

I hope you all have a great day!!

  1. I think your choices for interviews are very good. Carol Burnett show was one of my favorites. I feel the same about being thankful for just being alive and healthy. Such a great blessing. We had to move out a bunch of Rose bushes and I felt that was a huge accomplishment.

  2. Carol Burnett would be fabulous! I love Beth Moore studies but her voice grates on my last nerve for some silly reason. She's just wonderful but I cannot listen to her. How's that baby doing? He's just the cutest thing! I didn't turn the tv off today after the news and a talk show came on. The man is TD Jakes and he's a minister. He was talking about happiness and one of the things on the list was to be grateful to be alive. He took us to church on that one. :)

  3. Ohhhhh . . . Carol Burnett! Good choice! What a lot of laughs that would be! She was an amazing comedienne!

  4. I thought of Beth Moore for an interview, but ended up going with the more mainstream, secular choices today. I love hearing her speak, it would be interesting to just talk to her and learn more about her life. I love Carol Burnett, too. Hubby and I often watch the infomercials selling DVDs of her old shows.

So glad you are feeling better this year!

  6. I agree that Carol Burnett would be an outstanding interview. I'm glad that I was able to bring a laugh or two. Being an Elder in the church I couldn't use the "A" word but I'm glad that you got it. Thank you for your visit to my blog page and for your kind words and prayers for SWMBO. Have a great weekend.

  7. The reference to the "A" word was meant for a different commentator to my blog page. It refers to my Random Thought where I refer to "...you bet your sweet donkey." I hope that clears up any confusion you may have.
