If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday night and I'm very late for Thankful Thursday, but I wanted to do it anyway.  This week I am so thankful for the time we have spent with our daughter and grandson the last couple of days.  We celebrated both of their birthdays (which are coming up the 13th and 16th of September)  Kerri just got a job so we could only be together in the evenings, but it was so wonderful having 3 evenings in a row with them.  Thought I'd show a few pictures.

I am so thankful for our family.  This week would have been perfect if Kelli could have been with us.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures from my week.  Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Thankful Thursday

Things I am thankful for this week:

 - Grace:  I am so thank for God's amazing grace.  I can't believe he would save someone like me, but He did.  I hope I never become complacent about this.

 - Travel:  Hubby and I get to travel next week to see Kerri and Colton.  I can't wait!

 - Birthdays:  Hubby's birthday is tomorrow.  Kerri and Colton's are in September.  So we will be celebrating all 3 next week.  Yay!

 - Health:  Went to the doctor last week for a regular check-up and all is good and he even took me off 2 of my meds.  That is always a good thing in my book.

 - Sunrises and Sunsets and Skies in General:  I love the sky and I love taking pictures of the sky.  See my post yesterday and tomorrow.  I'm sure there will be sky shots in both.

So what are you thankful for this week?  Click here if you want to join in with Rebecca Jo for Thankful Thursday.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's Wednesday, so that must mean it's time for the Hodgepodge.  Join in by clicking the button above.  After, of course, you have read and commented on my post.  lol

1. Did you watch the solar eclipse? Your thoughts? Sun Chips, Moon Pies, Starburst candies, a Blue Moon beer, a Sunkist orange, or a Milky Way candy bar...what's your favorite eclipse related snack on this list?
I went outside but didn't look at the sun. I thought it was going to get darker than it did, but we were not in the path. Moon pies.

2. What are you 'over the moon' about these days? What's something you enjoy doing every 'once in a blue moon'?
I am over the moon about my grandson. Every once in a blue moon I like to watch the Harry Potter series again. Don't know what made me think of that.

3. Tell us about something in the realm of science that interests you. How do you feed that interest?
Most anything to do with space travel and also airplanes.

4. What are a few things you remember about going back to school as a child?
I was always very scared the first day, but loved it after that..

5. I've seen several versions of this around the net so let's make one of our own...share with us five words that touch your soul and briefly tell us why.
Grace Love Joy Forgiveness Peace...These are the results of a relationship with God and I hope I am growing in each of these areas.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.
The sky sure was beautiful Tuesday night when the dog and I took our walk.

Friday Foto Friends

I'm joining in with Friday Foto Friends.  You can click here if you'd like to join.  Share pictures from your week or whenever and then link up at Deb's site Breathing in Grace.  Here are my pictures for this week.

We had quite the downpour on Thursday.  It stopped around 8:30pm or so.  Lucy and I decided to take the opportunity to get out and put in a short walk.  I'm so glad we did.  She had so much running through the grass, splashing in the water.  Of course, she had to have a bath when we got back.  Also the sky was beautiful.  Here are some pictures from that walk.

Pretty sky and very wet neighborhood

A little bit of pink

Love those pink clouds here.

And more pink
Hope you enjoyed our walk as much as we did.  Have a blessed weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Things I am thankful for this week:

- Dinner at Frisch's with a good friend Tuesday night. I very seldom go out without my hubby, but it was very nice to be out with a girlfriend. We talked non-stop. So fun.

- We had such a good time of Bible study tonight. I feel like I learned a lot. Now to put it into action. We were discussing praise and worship..

- Time spent crocheting. Working on a dishcloth right now. Hoping to finish one yet tonight.

Finished it except for tying and working in the ends.

- A friend is participating in a craft show this weekend. Thankful she is taking some items I've made. Hoping she sells a lot.

- Time with hubby at the Cincinnati Airport watching planes on Saturday. I love doing this.

Could you Amazon package be on this plane?
- Walks in the evenings with my puppy. I've increased my step goal by a 1000 steps a day. So far I've reached that goal, except today. I was planning  to walk after church, but it's pouring the rain.  The skies have been so pretty and the evenings have been fairly cool. It's so nice meeting up with neighbors out walking and looking at all the beautiful flowers.

This is my street.  I live down on the left way down the street

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's Hodgepodge time.  Click the button above to join in. Thank you Joyce for the fun questions again this week.

1. Do your actions match your words? Elaborate.
I think so. At least I hope so. I think that's called integrity.

2. Sick as a dog, go to the dogs, dog days of summer, dog tired, it's a dog's life, every dog has it's day, can't teach an old dog new tricks...now doggone it which saying could most recently be applied to your life?
Right this moment...dog tired. It's Tuesday night at 9:00pm and I just finished my walk. So ready for bed, but it will be awhile yet.

3. Your favorite book featuring a dog in the storyline? What makes it a favorite?
A Dog Named Christmas. It's such a wonderful story and a movie too.

4. What's something you hope to one day have the confidence to do?
Retire.  I think it may take some courage to leave something I've done for over 2/3 of my life. Maybe next year.

5. August 16th is National Tell a Joke Day. So tell us a joke.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Got to see this little man today. Did not expect that, but oh so fun!

Mommy sent this picture of him on his way to see us

Five Minute Friday and Friday Foto Friends

Five Minute Friday is where we are given a prompt and you write for five minutes on your blog and then go here to link up.  Why not join us this week?

Today's prompt is:  place

The place I love to be the most is the beach. I don't necessarily need to be on the beach, although I do love to walk up and down the beach collecting shells. But as long as I have a balcony overlooking the beach I am content. It just brings me peace and makes me think of God. It is just so massive and beautiful and continuous. I feel almost the same when looking at the night sky. Just thinking how big it is and how small I am, yet God loves me anyway. So that is the place I love to be and hope to be visiting this fall sometime.

I'm also joining in with Friday Foto Friends.  You can click here if you'd like to join.  Since I wrote about the beach above, I thought I'd show a few of my pictures from previous trips.

Five Minute Friday: Try

Five Minute Friday is where we are given a prompt and you write for five minutes on your blog and then go here to link up.  Why not join us this week?

FMF Prompt:  Try

Well today I turn 60.  How in the world did that happen?  I'm trying not to be upset by getting old. I'm trying to be thankful that I am still here in this world.  The first 60 years have been pretty wonderful. I've had hard times and hard things to go through just like everyone else. But I have been really blessed too.  Recently, I'm trying to be more intentional about being grateful for all life's little blessings and the big ones too.  I'm so thankful for my husband and my girls and my grandson. I'm thankful for my job and my church family. I'm thankful for my family and friends. And I'm trying to be thankful for being 60.

What are you trying to do?

Cathy

Thankful Thursday

Joining in a little late today for Thankful Thursday.  But I guess it's never too late to be thankful.  Click here if you want to join in too or even just read everyone else's post.  It's always so encouraging when we are thankful.

This week I am thankful for the time hubby and I had together on Saturday.   We went to lunch and then drove over to a small Amish area in Adam's County, OH.  We only saw a few Amish people and didn't take pictures of them.  But we did see some other stuff we enjoyed and took pictures of.  It was just a fun time of being together and driving around and looking at the country.  Here are a couple of pictures we took.

A Parochial school in the area.  See the place where they tie the horses in front of the school and too the left was a baseball field and the see-saws and swings are to the right behind the tree.

These teeter totters or see-saws sure brought back a lot of memories and the swings too.

You can't see them very well, but that baby was soooo cute.  They were running along beside us as we drove by.

More cows and beautiful hills behind them.

Loved this wagon of flowers

See the horse peeking out from behind the tree. I think he was enjoying the shade and we were disturbing him.
I feel so blessed to have days like this to share with my husband.
