Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click the button above if you'd like to play along.

1.  Have you ever spent time on a farm? Tell us a little bit about it. Have you ever grown your own pumpkin? Been on a hayride? Driven a tractor? Milked a cow?
Yes.  My parents bought a small farm when I was a freshman in high school and I lived there until I was around 25 or 26 when my sister and I moved to an apartment. I personally never grew pumpkins, but we may have had them in the garden. We did have a garden every year and I helped. Yes, I’ve been on a hayride and I’ve also helped bale hay. Yes, I’ve driven a tractor a couple of times. Dad let me mow the back field with the tractor. That was fun and a bit scary too.    No, I’ve never milked a cow although we had a milk cow for a year.  Loved the fresh milk. I did sometimes feed the cows, pigs and other animals. But actually my dad did most of it.

2. What's something younger you would like about you now?
I think my younger self would like to know that I am very happy and very content with my life at this age.

3. What are three things you'd like to do more often? Three things you'd like to do less often?
More often...Read, See my grandson, go to the beach. Less often...go to the doctors, pay bills, worry

4. What's on your nachos?
Beef, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, retried beans and cheese

5. What's the most random thing in your purse or wallet? Does it need to stay there?
My husband’s reading glasses. Yes, so he can read the menus in restaurants or anything else he may need to when we are out.  It keeps him from having to carry them.  Since I usually have my purse it just makes it easier.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.
A friend made ham salad sandwiches for our Bible Study group last night and she packed extra for me to take home because she knows I love them so much.  Makes for an excellent lunch as I'm doing the Hodgepodge.  Thanks Jan!!!

  1. I agree with many of your answers on the do more often/less often questions!
How sweet of you to carry hubby's reading glasses! Ed's are always falling out of his shirt pocket when he bends over.
What a sweet friend you have, to make extra sandwiches for you! Praise the Lord for people like that :)

    Have a great day!

  2. I've never gotten to drive a big tractor, but working in the garden? Ohhhh yeah. My dad had a huge one every year of my life and during garden season it was understood that evenings went...supper, garden work, then play. It still amazes me that I actually kind of miss that time of the whole family working together.

  4. Ah, friends. They really are the best, aren't they? Had your parents wanted a farm for a while? I did at one point but I know I'm too old now. And too lazy. Or I just know that a farm is way more work than I'm willing to do. :)

  5. I don't think I've ever had a ham salad sandwich. Is that like deviled ham? I used to love that but haven't had it in decades. Enjoy your week!

  7. So you lived on a farm, that is really cool! You definitely had the farm experience. I am happy you are content with your life. I said read too! I have so many Christian books that I get for free on my kindle app and I have some paperbacks too yet I never take time to read. Reading is such a pleasure yet I waste my time on the computer and watching movies on TV. Your nachos sound yummy. When Mark forgets his glasses he get to wear my pretty colored ones to read the menus :)

  8. You are a good wife to carry your husband's glasses for him. I carry my own because my beloved SWMBO often misplaces things. I say "Amen" to your do more often/less often answer. Your Nacho recipe sounds yummy.
Thank you for visiting my blog page and for your kind comments re:SWMBO. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf too. God bless you!
