If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. It's that time of year again...time for Lake Superior University to present a list of words (or phrases) they'd like to see banished (for over-use, mis-use, or genera uselessness) in 2018. You can read more about the decision making process and word meaning here, but this year's top vote getters are-

unpack, dish (as in dish out the latest rumor), pre-owned, onboarding/offboarding, nothingburger, let that sink in, let me ask you this, impactful, Cofefe, drill down, fake news, hot water heater (hot water doesn't need to be heated), and gig economy

Which of these words/phrases would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why? Is there a word not on the list you'd like to add?
Can’t say any of them particularly bother me. Nor can I think of a word I’d like to get rid of right now either.

2. What's something you need to get rid of in the new year?
Some weight, I hope.

3. Where do you feel stuck?
I don’t feel stuck.

4. January is National Soup Month. When did you last have a bowl of soup? Was it made from scratch or from a can? Your favorite canned soup? Your favorite soup to make from scratch on a cold winter's day?
Friday, I had potato soup for lunch and I made it. In, fact I made another pot tonight and will be having it for lunch the next 3 days. Love it and it’s my favorite to make on a cold night. My favorite canned soup is Progresso New England Clam Chowder.

5. Tell us one thing you're looking forward to in 2018.
Hoping to get my ETSY Shop more active.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
My grandson got a haircut. He looks like a little boy now instead of a baby.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Oh my goodness, doesn't that first real haircut take away the babiness (?), especially on a little one who has such a full head of hair. It's always a little sad when they go to that next phase, isn't it. He's such a cutie! Happy New Year to you, Cathy. God bless you in this year ahead.

  3. Oops. I clicked something that made my comment disappear. Let's try again. LOL Colton looks so grown up with his haircut but he's a cutie either way. I've notice Marcy looking like a kid now instead of a baby and I don't know whether to be happy or sad about it. :) Two people in my family love the Progresso New England Clam Chowder, too but one of them is not me since I don't 'do' clams. LOL I'm sitting here waiting for the sleet and snow to begin. I'm like a kid in a candy store!

  5. Oh, what a cute grandson, I bet he keeps you on your toes! Potato soup is my favorite too. I like it with bacon and a creamy texture...I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it.
    Happy New Year,

  6. That first haircut always makes them look so much older. It’s sweet though! He is a handsome boy : ). Happy New Year!

  7. Colton looks so different. What a handsome little man he is!
Progresso soups are pretty good for canned soups. I always have a supply of them on hand for my lunches during the work week.
    Happy New Year!

  8. Weight loss is something I need to work hard on this year. Wishing you success! Way to go on making soup. I've only tried making soup a few times. Oh my, he looks so grown up and of course adorable.
