If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. April is National Jazz Appreciation Month. Are you a fan? If so what's a favorite you'd recommend to someone new to jazz listening?
I certainly don't hate it, but I wouldn't consider myself a big fan.  I do like a small dose of it from time to time though.

2. Mandolin, ukulele, harp, accordion or banjo...which would you be most interested in learning to play? Or do you already play one of the instruments listed?
I've wanted to play the ukulele for the last several years.  One of these days (maybe when I retire), I'll actually try to learn.

3. Do you judge a book by it's cover? Elaborate. You may answer in either/both the literal or figurative sense of the word.
Literally, yes I do sometimes.  If the cover does not appeal to me, I probably won't read it.  I try very hard not to judge people by their cover.  Unfortunately, I don't always succeed, if I'm honest about it.

4. According to a recent study the ten most nutritious foods are-almonds, cherimoya (supposed to taste like a cross between a pineapple/banana), ocean perch, flatfish (such as flounder and halibut), chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, swiss chard, pork fat (shocking! but I don't think they mean bacon), beet greens, and red snapper. Are any of these foods a regular part of your diet? Any you've never ever tasted? Which would you be most inclined to add to your diet?
I wouldn't say any of them are a regular part of my diet, however, I do eat almonds quite often.  I've never had cherimoya, ocean perch, beet greens or red snapper.  I would be most inclined to add ocean perch I think.

5. Besides a major holiday what is the most recent thing you've celebrated with your people? Tell us how.
Can't think of any celebrations recently except holidays recently.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Hubby ordered me a Mac Desktop Computer.  I should get it today (Wednesday).  Looking forward to learning how to use it.  I have an iPhone and an iPad, but have never used a Mac Computer.  This should be fun!  lol  But, honestly, I think it will be good for me to learn something new and stretch my brain some.

  1. Nice to meet you Cathy. A pastors wife? What church? I'm always watching blogger for more women of faith. I'll be adding you to the list of those I like to follow. Have fun with your new computer.

  2. Enjoy your new computer. I used a MAC many years ago on a new job. Are you going to be doing a lot of graphics? I've heard they are great for that.

  3. We're in the midst of wedding planning already because this is the daughter who wants everything set and perfect right now so this should be fun. LOL I just do not find Apple products user friendly and I think it's because it's too sensible/organized. When I'm too organized or things are too straight-forward, I get confused. LOL Have a great day!

  4. Yay for a new computer! I've been using Macbooks (laptops) since 2006 (yes, I remember the year) and have absolutely loved them!!!

  5. The ukulele would be fun! I hope you get a chance to do that. A book will grab me by the cover but sometimes the description doesn't thrill me. As far as people go I think in today's world we sadly have red flags up that make us judge differently than we did years ago. Good luck with your new computer.

  7. Hope by now you have mastered the computer! I love mac's. I think, like you, a lot of people judge a book by its cover.

  8. I think I'd be intimidated by a Mac computer. That might be silly of me. We have a PC. My phone is android. My students have Chromebooks. I never use iPads if I can help it, even though they'd probably be really useful in the classroom! Maybe I should stretch my brain a little too and sign up to use the iPad cart at my school.
