Thankful Thursday

Click here to link-up with Rebecca Jo.

Things I am thankful for:

** Homecoming Sunday at church --  We had a wonderful morning service and then lunch afterward.  Let me tell you we have some excellent cooks at our church and lunch was delicious.  Plus it is just so precious to spend time with these brothers and sisters in Christ.

**  I'm thankful for this friend, who does so much for our church and so many other people.  She decorated the tables with pumpkins and these chalkboard signs that she made.  And now she's planning to have a class in December and teach us how to make these signs.  I just love this friend and her husband.  They are just the best.

I think this is my favorite one.

**Sunday Afternoon Naps -- After church and dinner we went home and took an afternoon nap.  It was so wonderful and quiet in the house.  I think Sunday naps are my favorite.

**Monday Holidays -- I love getting a Monday off, which gives me a 3 day weekend.  Unfortunately, hubby had an early morning doctor's appointment, but even that turned out to be good.  First of all and most importantly, hubby got a good report.  Thank you God.  But while he was at his appointment, I took advantage of the walking path they have behind the facility.  It was a beautiful, cool morning and the geese were floating in the water and I just enjoyed a quiet walk.

**Homemade Chili -- Hubby made chili last night for the first time this season and it was delicious!!  The weather is just perfect for chili and I'm sure we'll be having lots this fall and winter.  In fact, I brought leftovers to work with me for lunch.  Yum!

**Bible Study - I'm so enjoying our women's Bible study right now.  We are doing Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore and Kay Arthur.  The at home lessons are really good and I feel like I'm learning so much and reinforcing things I already know.  I'm so thankful for the speakers and I'm very thankful for each one of the ladies that are doing the study with us.  I learn so much from them to as we discuss and share our stories with each other.

My husband challenged us in his sermon on Sunday to start a gratitude journal.  I've been thinking about this all week and finally got out one of my old notebooks that I had only used a few pages of and brought it to work yesterday.  I think I can start with these items and I know there will be many more things to add as I try to spend time each day thanking God for all He has done and is doing and will continue to do for me.  I feel like I am so blessed!

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you will consider doing your own Thankful Thursday post and link up with Rebecca Jo at Knit by God's Hand

How are those chalk boards made? Are they die cuts on them? They are so cute!

  3. A gratitude journal sounds like a wonderful thing to do. Those are peaceful pictures from your walk, a nice place to spend time while waiting for hubby, wonderful that he got a good report. The signs are so cute, your friend is very talented.

  4. Those chalkboards are so cool! I would love to learn how to make them. You are lucky your hubby cooks chili. I would be over the moon if my hubby would cook chili or anything else, for that matter! :)

    1. I'm definitely blessed with a good hubby. He actually cooks more than me and I am more than willing to do the clean-up if he cooks.

    1. I really enjoy our Bible Studies and I learn so much. Maybe you can find one in your area to attend or start one yourself.

  6. Oh, you've got to do the journal! I'm another journal keeper and there is nothing to change your mood, attitude, or outlook like purposely focusing on the good in life and writing it down.

  8. You’re a pastor’s wife, yet you don’t mention that in your profile. ☺️ Pastors’ wives are among some of my favorite people. This means, of course, that you have two full-time jobs I would imagine. Every pastor’s wife I know is as busy as a person can possibly be.

    1. I thought I did have it in my profile. I know I did at one time. I must have changed it. Yes, I do keep fairly busy, but not overly so. We're a pretty small church and everybody pitches in pretty well.

  10. What a lovely post...I enjoyed the geese on the pond with you! What a beautiful setting on a crisp, fall morning. And yes, the gratitude journal will be a blessing to you...and I hope you will share what you can with us. It inspires us to also look for things for which to be thankful..sometimes things we hadn't thought about before. I know you will enjoy doing that. You are already making me think about doing the same as I have gotten away from journaling lately...and I need to get back. That would be a great way to get started. Have a blessed day!!
