If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Thankful Thursday

Click the button above to link-up with Rebecca at Knit by God's Hand

With all that's going on in this world, it's so important to remember to be thankful.  No matter if good or bad is happening, God is still worthy of our praise.  He still has us in his hands and will never leave us.

**I'm so thankful that spring seems to be coming in now.  The skies were blue yesterday and it was warm enough to walk the dog without a coat.  So blessed.

**I've been enjoying the birds singing.  It seems like they are singing more this year, or maybe I'm just noticing it more when I'm out.  I love that the birds keep singing and looking for food and doing what birds do and letting God take care of them.  I think that's what I need to do and am trying to do.  Be sensible but just trust that God is in control and is not in the least bit surprised by all that's going on.  I'm so glad I know the One that knows it all and controls it all!  So thankful I can call Him Father!

**I'm thankful for good health for my hubby and me and also all of our extended family.  God is so good!!

So what are you thankful for this week?

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Howdy Hodgepodgers. It's kind of fun to be back, isn't it?  Last time we met was September, 2018. Tell me something big-important-happy-or sad that's happened in your life since that date. Just one thing. We don't know how long this current isolation situation is going to last and we might need to dole out our news bit by bit.
Since September 2018, I guess the one big thing is my grandson is now living in Texas!  Thankfully they've been home several times and we've been there once.  So thankful for Video Chat ability.

2. Might as well get this out of the way early on...COVID-19. On a scale of 1-5 how serious are you about keeping your distance? Explain. fyi-I didn't create the scale but have seen it several places online. Also fyi-we won't only have virus related questions each week, but for this first one it feels right.
1-Not at all, living normally
2-Cautious but still going out
3-Going out as needed, mostly home or working from home, still seeing friends/family
4-Extremely limited, only going out when unavoidable, minimal contact with people
5-Full lockdown, no one in or out
I'd say I'm in the #2 but only because we're both still working and we go out to a drive-thru or to a grocery when needed.  Taking lots of precautions at work to not get to close to people and sanitizing everything every day.

3. Raise your hand if you think you might run out of steam in the cooking department before it's all said and done? What's something delcious you've cooked or eaten in your own kitchen in the past week?
We made sweet and sour meat balls over rice and it was delicious.

4. What's a television show or movie you've seen recently (it could be an oldie) that you really liked?
We're binging several different shows right now NCIS being my favorite.  We decided to go back to the very beginning and watch the whole series again.  Favorite movies at the theater this year that I've seen are Little Women, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (I know that's not the correct name) and Call of the Wild.  All are excellent!

5. Share something funny you've seen or heard this week.
I posted yesterday one of the funniest videos I've seen this week.  Go here.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Joyce, thank you so much for reviving the Wednesday Hodgepodge.  It is always so fun and I've missed it.

Thank you for visiting everyone.  Have a great day and stay safe!

A Mother's Desparate Prayer

This is one of the best things I've heard during all this time of problems.

It's very funny, but if you are one of the ones homeschooling right now, it's really a very good prayer in many ways.  God is the only help.

Hope you enjoyed this.

Friday Photos

I really don't have much in the line of pictures, but I want to make a post anyway.  I'm trying to be a little more active on my blog, so here's the one picture I have that I actually took myself (that I haven't already posted here) this week.

I got hubby's blanket back out last night and started working on it again.  I'm hoping to get it finished in the next week or so.  It's now about 4 feet long by 6-7 feet wide.  I'm planning to make it about 6 feet long,   I love the colors, but with the rows being so long, it's a little cumbersome to work on, plus it makes me rather hot, so I have to make sure the fan is blowing while I'm working on it.  lol  Hubby gets a lot colder than I do (probably because my fan blows on him too), so it should be just right for him.

Hope you all have a really great weekend!!

This week I'm thankful for many things, but this is what I am most thankful for today.   If you can't tell, I'm kinda missing this little fellow.  Definitely have to find some time to video-chat with this guy this weekend.

Sleeping Beauty!

Look at those sweet eyes!

With all the trouble with Covid-19 this little one's only worry is about his Spiderman Ice Cream melting, which is exactly how it should be.
So what are you thankful for today?

Thanks for visiting!

The Simple Woman Daybook

______________________________

For Today - Wednesday March 18, 2020

Looking out my window
It's a rather gray day but at least it's not too cold

I am thinking
That I probably need to get back to work as lunch break is about over

I am thankful
That hubby and I and all our family are healthy and don't have the Covid 19 Virus

One of my favorite things
He's not a thing, but he's one of my favorites.

I am creating
a crocheted blanket for my hubby and our puppy

I am wearing
a blue shirt with hearts and navy pants

I am listening to
my Disney music channel on Pandora

I am hoping
this virus scare is over soon, although we are doing fine

I am learning
about Joseph and how God is always faithful in the Bible study we are doing

In my kitchen
hubby is going to make Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut for supper tonight

In my garden
I don't have a garden, but I am enjoying some cut flowers in a vase in my house

Tuesday 4 - Odds "N" Ends

1.   Ever been to a Drive In Theater? Would you like to see Drive In Theaters make a come back?

I have been to a drive-in, but not in years and yes, I think it would be fun to go again.

2.  Should towns provide community entertainment like bands in the park, fireworks on the 4th, community picnics or is the cost just too much?

Our town does most of the above and we also have a lot of festivals too.  People seem to love it!  But honestly, we no longer partake in most of them, except we typically do go see the fireworks and sometimes I go to the Christmas Carriage Parade.

3.  What would you change about your town if you had the power?
I love our town, but I would like to see them keep up with the road repairs a little better.

4. My  little high school offered 3 courses of education:  Business, University track and General education where you could also major in shop , carpentry, home economics and metal working, etc.
Would you like to see schools bring back business courses, shop classes and home economics?

Yes, I think that could be a really good thing.

Thanks for visiting!

Tuesday 4 - The Sky Above Us

Click here to link up with Annie

1. Some people have a pet planet or a planet they think is cool. What about you?
Not really, maybe Jupiter because it's so bright in the night sky right now.

2. Whether you believe in astrology or not, you do have a "sign". What is yours and do you fit the description in any way?
I do not believe in it, but I'm a Leo and I really don't know the description of it so I can't answer to that.

3. Do you stay up late to watch meteorite showers or crane your head to see the clouds in the daytime?
If I know about it and the sky is clear I would definitely stay up for it.  I love the clouds and the night sky and it's a wonder I don't trip over my dog when we're out for a walk because I'm always looking up (day and night).

4. Do you think money is wasted on the space program that might be better used on earth?
No, I do not think it has been wasted.  We have so many neat things that we use daily that were invented for use in the space program.

Thanks for visiting

My Weekend

Hubby and I had a nice weekend.  Friday night we just stayed home together and just enjoyed some TV show binging and a little house cleaning.

Saturday I started my day reading (finished the book I was reading) and then got cleaned up and we went to lunch and Walmart.  Came straight home, unloaded and I headed to my sisters so we could go visit our other sister.  Had a good visit and then went home and made homemade pizzas again and watched a disaster movie that I don't remember watching before.  We kinda like disaster movies.  lol

Oh and also the dog and I took a short walk and I couldn't resist doing a video or two.  The birds were singing like crazy.

Also, when out with hubby earlier, we ran into this guy.  His shirt says Dancing for Smiles (he succeeded, I definitely smiled) and the back says The Dancing Trucker.  He was just having so much fun!

Great services at church and our local Mexican Restaurant for lunch and an almost mile walk with the dog as the weather was just so beautiful!

Hope you had a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting.

Thankful Thursday

Click the button above to link up with Rebecca at Knit by God's Hand for Thankful Thursday.

I'm so thankful to have completed the second night of my sleep study.  The first night revealed I have severe sleep apnea and this second night was with a c-pap machine so they could decide how much air pressure is needed to keep me from stopping breathing.  It'll be 7-10 days before I hear from the doctor and see what his recommendations are.  I really wasn't bothered by the mask much at all, so when it's for real at home, we'll see how that goes.  lol  I'm thankful to have found out about my problem and am hoping this will make a big difference in how I feel in the future.

I'm very thankful for all my blogging friends through the almost 12 years I've been blogging.  I was reading Rebecca's post and she was talking about a particular blogging friend.  I have so enjoyed everyone that I've blogged with over these years and some of you don't just feel like blogging friends, you feel like real life friends.  And you know what?  As far as I'm concerned you are just friends.  I've learned so much from so many of you and I've laughed at your posts and prayed for you in hard times.  I just really love this blogging world.  So yeah, Rebecca, I stole this thought from you, but it is such a good one and I want everyone to know how much I appreciate your comments and thoughts and prayers over the years.

So, what are you thankful for?
