If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for some bright sunshine that is melting the snow.  The skies still look rather gray, but I can see the sunshine out my window.

God is so awesome!  I looked back a  shorth time later and now the skies are bright blue with big white clouds.  So pretty.  I just had to update the post.

Hope you all have a great day.

Friday Photos

This photo was taken for a photo prompt (black and white) on Instagram for a photo challenge I take part in.  The funny thing is that this is a color photo!

I really haven't taken too many photos this week, but below are some of the hats I have made this week.  Still deciding on which ones I want to add pompoms too.  Just gotta say, my sister and I are having so much fun with this knitting machine.  She borrows it on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  She has made some of the prettiest color combinations of hats.  I'll have to get pictures and show you sometime.

I especially love this color.

Finished this last night and I'm loving this yellow.  In, fact I'm halfway through the matching scarf.

Came home Thursday night and the sun was shining and I just had to get a picture of the blue skies.  The sun was so bright that I found out later that the other pictures (which were better photos) had a person standing in them and I didn't want to post them.

That's about all I have.  I hope you have had a good week and that you have a great weekend coming up.

I am thankful:

*  we got to have a face to face visit inside with my sister this weekend.  The assisted living place she lives has opened the doors for scheduled visits. It was good to see her.  Hoping all will stay well so it can continue.

*  hubby and I got to have dinner with his mom last night as this was her first anniversary without her husband.  They would have been married 65 years.  We had such a good time talking and just being together just as we always do.

*  our Lucy who just keeps me laughing and is so comforting, well, when she isn't aggravating me to death.  lol

I mean just look at that sweet little dirty face.

*  our daughter is getting things to come together with her wedding plans.  Two of her girls have had to back out for various reasons and she has gotten two of her other friends that are going to do it instead.  That makes me so happy that she has friends that love her enough to be willing to step up like that and help her out.  She's happy and that makes me happy.

*  that God loves me and I can rest in His hands,.  There is no place I would rather be.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click above if you'd like to participate.

1. What's something we'd find you doing most afternoons?
Working and then coming home and walking the dog and helping fix dinner.

 2. Who do you take after? In what way(s)?
I really have no idea, but I suppose my mom in some ways.

 3. 'After every storm comes a rainbow' or 'the calm before the storm'...which phrase do you relate to more right now? Tell us why?
Maybe the calm before the storm.  Things have been pretty quiet and calm for us lately.

4.What are your plans for the day after tomorrow?
Friday I'll be working and then usually on Friday we order in supper and relax at home where I'll be doing some knitting and maybe reading too.

 5. Complete this sentence-"After all is said and done there is no need for me to worry or fear because God is in control and He holds me in his hands!."

 6. Insert your own random thought here.
Here's a quote I found somewhere, I don't remember where.  But I have it attached to the monitor in my office at work and read it most every day.

"Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change.  Prayer is a conversation you have with God about things He can change."

Tuesday 4 - Work

Annie says:   "Hello and welcome to Tuesday 4 where we honor the memory of our friend Toni Taddeo by continuing her 4 questions each week meme!  It is wonderful that so many are joining in and I do hope more will come as well. Toni would love that."

Click here if you'd like to join us.

Let's talk about work!

1. What kind of work does not bother you at all?  I don't mind cleaning up the kitchen, if hubby does the cooking.  This works very well for us.

2. What kinds of work do bother you and why?  I detest sweeping and mopping floors only because it hurts my back so bad.

3. Is there a job you've had you loathed or  perhaps one you loved? Why was that?  Well, I've been employed at this job since I was 19, but I have held several  different positions.  There have been days I've loathed it in the past 45 years, but mostly it's not been too bad and I'm glad to have had the job.

4. Do you have a job or kind of work you wish you were doing? What would make it attractive to you?  I'm hoping to turn some of my crafting into a way to make some extra money when I retire.

Annie says:  "Thank you so much for joining in, I do appreciate your efforts to make this a success."

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

Friday Photos

Here are a few photographs from my phone taken this week.

Lucy wearing her new green plaid harness.

Saw these two hot air balloons flying early Sunday morning.  It must have been so cold up there.

Saturday was Police Appreciation Day.  On Monday morning these painted stones were found in the flower beds at the Police Department.

Saw another hawk in the neighborhood while out with Lucy

So how was your week?  Did you take any pictures?  Would love to see them if you did.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond
Click here if you'd like to link up

 1. When were you last a guest at an event or in someone's home? Tell us about it. Do you enjoy having guests in your own home? I can't even remember the last time I was a guest at an event, because COVID, you know.  However, I did spend 2 days with Kelli to go wedding dress shopping and that was a blast.  I'm not big on entertaining or going to events.  However, we have a big event coming in March (Kelli's wedding) and I plan to enjoy that.

2. What has you 'tied up in knots' currently or recently? I really don't think anything does right now.  I'm trying to "fear not" as my word this year is FEARLESS.  Are you any good at tying actual knots? Not particularly.  Although, I actually tie quite a few knots in my yarn work, so I guess I'm okay at just normal knots.  lol

3. What's something you've been wanting to do and have decided 2021 will be the year you 'take the plunge'? Re-open my Etsy Shop and change the name of it.  I'm currently working on building up some inventory.

4. Something in your home that's old? Me?  Actually I have a buffet that's old.  Something new? Some pictures with quotes I like. Something borrowed? Can't think of anything right now.  Something blue? 2 wing back chairs.

5. Share a favorite quote, a verse of scripture, and/or a bit of wisdom for couples getting married in this challenging and seemingly unpredictable season we're currently/still experiencing.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Tuesday 4 - Dreams

1.   My dream house is?  If I were dreaming big I would love a house on the beach where I could sit out on a balcony or deck and watch the ocean whenever I wanted.  However, in reality I would love to have a small condominium here in my area where someone else took care of the outside and we would take care of the inside and then have a month or two every year to spend at the beach in a condo or hotel room as long as it's right on the beach.

2.   My dream car is? a van...I love having room to take people with us wherever we go, and/or lots of room to take stuff with us when we travel.

3.   My dream vacation is?  See above...obviously beach time and to have both girls and their families with us for part of the time.

4.   My dream life is?  Retired and living the above dreams.

My Weekend

 We had another quiet weekend.

Friday evening hubby and I ordered in a pizza after work and had a quiet evening at home.

On Saturday I worked on packing up some more Christmas.  I'm also sorting out and getting rid of items we haven't used in several years.  This is so hard for me to do because I love all of them, but we just have no need to have all that stuff.  We also packed up a bag of hubby's old sports jackets that he hasn't used in years.  I can just imaging the house is sighing in relief that we're actually getting rid of some stuff.  lol

Later on Saturday we grabbed some lunch at Red Robin and then I made a trip to Hobby Lobby as they had their yarn on sale.  I got 8 skeins to make hats with.  I'm hoping to get some stock built up and to re-open my Etsy Shop real soon.

Sunday was kind of a dreary, cold day but the sunset and sunrise were absolutely beautiful.  God is such a master artist.
Sunrise in our subdivision.

Sunset across the street from our church.

I also started a book called, The Radium Girls.  I heard about it on Stacy's blog.  It's pretty interesting as it's a true story. I had never heard anything about this before.  It's so horrid what happened to these girls.   Hope to finish that sometime this week.

So how was your week?  Are your Christmas decorations still up, down, or in the process?  Read any good books lately?  Do you have an Etsy shop?

I was thinking about this post this morning and this song came to mind and I think it sums up my feelings today pretty well.  Many years ago I sang this song in a quartet with my brother and two cousins.  I was true then and still is today.  God has so richly blessed me all my life.  I'm also putting a video of it being sung by Jeff and Sherry Easter from a Gaither video.

The Easter Brothers – Thank You Lord, For Your Blessings On Me Lyrics

Verse I
As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I'm rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Chorus
There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Verse II
Now I know I'm not wealthy, and these clothes , they're not new
I don't have much money, but Lord I have you
And to me that's all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Chorus
There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

What are you thankful for today?

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What advice would you give yourself as we begin this new year? Relax and leave the worries to God.

2. If you could throw a themed party for yourself what would the theme be? I'm not much for parties especially if it's about me.  But if I have to choose, I'd probably say Disney themed and I'd prefer it be about my grandson!!

3. Tell us where you were and something about what life was like when you were 20- 21. At the age of 20-21 I still lived with my parents and was working where I still work for another 9-10 months.  Here is a picture of me at work around that time.

4. What's on the menu at your house this week? Salisbury Steaks one night and maybe some chili.

5. What should you do more of this year? Less of? More crafting and less TV watching.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Tuesday 4

Wondering..,

Welcome back to Tuesday 4 where we remember the wonderful memes of our friend Toni Taddeo by continuing them on in her memory.  I am glad you've stopped by to join in.

To begin 2021 I thought I would re-post the final Tuesday 4 from Toni, posted on Monday Dec. 9, 2019! Enjoy playing along friends. --Message from Annie

A Repeat ~ Just Wondering

1.   When was the last time you tried something new?:
My new knitting machine that I got on Christmas Eve Day and I'm really enjoying it and so is my sister.

2.   Who in your family do you compare yourself to?:
I'm not really sure I compare myself to anyone in my family, but people tell                                               me I look like my mom.  Sometimes I see it and sometimes I don't.  Here's
a picture of us together from a long time ago.

3.   What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?:
Do not always put things off until the last minute...although I haven't totally
got this one mastered yet.  lol

4.   What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?:
I'm not sure there is anything new I can do that I couldn't do before.  But
hopefully before this day is over I learn at least one new thing.  I always feel
good when I learn something new.
