Thankful Thursday

** This morning about 6:30 or so I got a message from my daughter that my grandson wanted to see his Gigi on video chat.  So what's a Gigi to do, but give him a call, of course.  Even at 6:30am this Gigi can't miss out on seeing that face when he actually wants to talk.  lol  I can't believe I didn't even take a picture because he was so cute.  His was wearing his Baby Yoda PJ's and had to show me it with the hood up and the sleep mask covering his eyes.  So cute.  I mean, you really can't start a day much better than that!
Mommy got him some ice cream the other day

Wearing a new outfit Gigi and Papaw bought him

** Some beautiful flowers at our church,my home and my work.  God creates such beautiful flowers.

Actually, I'm still at the nursery, but these are now hanging on my front porch

These next four are at church.

Lilac in front of where I work.  My office is the window to the left.

**  Quiet evenings at home to watch TV with hubby and spend time crocheting.  For some reason, right now I am very into crocheting instead of loom knitting.  I've been making this pony tail scrunchies.  I need to take some more pictures soon.  I'm planning to have them in the craft show in October.  Trying to make sure we have plenty of things of all different kinds for people to buy.

Here's one of the hair scrunchies I've made.

What are you thankful for today.  Big or small, it's good to thank God and share you stuff with others because it can be so encouraging to you and others.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Thankful Thursday

Things I am thankful for:

**  Beautiful weather - Today is blue skies, and at noon it is 75 degrees.

**  My cousin's husband is in heaven - I'm not happy that he had to go right now, but I'm so thankful he is no longer suffering and as my daughter said he's in heaven dancing with Jesus now.

**  My family - I know I probably say I'm thankful for them quite often.  But I am so blessed with great daughters, a sweet, funny grandson and most of all the best husband in the world.  I could not ask for anything any better than these folks.

**  I'm also thankful for all of you that visit, read and comment (or not) on my blog.

Hope you are having a great day and thanks for taking time to visit with me.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Realist, idealist, optimist, pessimist...which one are you? Elaborate. In reality, I'm probably a little of each.  However, I usually try to be optimistic about life.  So, I'm going with optimist.

2. What's something currently on your wish list? New chairs for our livingroom.

3. Three things on this week's shopping list? Dog treats, Gatorade Zero and Shrimp which is quite an eclectic list.

4. According to Trip Advisor here's a list of the top ten things to do in the US this summer- Chicago Architecture River Cruise, Skip the Line Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour, New York In A Day guided sightseeing tour, Charleston's Old South Historic Horse and Carriage tour, Grand Canyon helicopter tour, Full day iconic sights of LA, Beverly Hills, Beaches and more, D.C. at Dusk guided night tour, Beneath the Streets Underground History tour (Seattle), New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat tour, Gangsters and Ghosts tour in Chicago...read more about each excursion in the link here. Of the ten attractions listed which do you find most appealing? Have you already experienced anything on this list? I have never experience any of these but I think I would enjoy Chicago Architecture River Cruise.

5. Besides home and work where do you spend the most time? Church

6. Insert your own random thought here. I've posted this before, but it bears repeating.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Tuesday 4 - Interests and Hobbies

Interests and Hobbies

Welcome to Tuesday 4 kept up in honor of Toni Taddeo.  Let's talk today about your interests and hobbies.

1. What are your interests and hobbies? .. reading? writing? collecting?  I enjoy reading...mostly Christian fiction and sometimes biographies too.  I also enjoy playing piano (can't wait to spend more time doing this when I retire) and crocheting, loom-knitting and machine-knitting.  I used to collect Teapots, but not any more.  I still have several, but I don't actively search for them any more and I've given several away.

2 How much time a week/day/month do you devote to your interests?  Some weeks it's hours and some weeks, none at all.

3. Do you share your interests with anyone?  My sister loves to read the same kind of books as me and we will share sometimes (except mostly we read on Kindle and we haven't figured out the sharing part).  However, we are always telling each other about new authors we like.  My sister also plays piano and I gave some of the teapots to her.  So yeah, I guess we share some of the same interests.

4.Tell us why you enjoy your hobby, pastimes or interests.  No real reason, other than I just do.  My mom was an avid reader and I guess she taught us and mom loved collecting antiques of certain kinds and I then several of my teapots she found and gave to me when she found out I liked them.  Mom made us take piano and now I'm so glad she did.  It is just so fun to play when no one is around.  That's why I can't wait until I retire, as hubby will still be working and I'll have time in the house without anyone there to just play and sing to my heart's content.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will join in.  There is a link near the top of this post.

Friday Photos

I've already posted most of my pictures from this week.  But here are a couple of pretty skies I've taken pictures of.

Saw this peacock on the way to church.  It's not the greatest picture, but a car was coming.  I love peacocks and they have a bunch at this farm and I'm always watching for them when we go by.  Actually hubby is the one who saw this one.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great weekend!

 Things I am thankful for:

**Mammogram -- good results.  Interesting story.  The lady that did my mammogram told me she is 75 years old and has been doing this for 56 years.  She was amazing!  I thought being 63 and working 45 years was good.  lol  She told me I was too young to retire.  Then rewarded myself with a drink from Starbucks after being a good girl and getting my mammogram again.  lol

**Time to Crochet and Knit in the evenings.

Latest Pony Tail Scrunchy

**Visit with my hubby's mom on Mother's Day.

**Great chicken salad at the Walmart Deli.  I've seen it before but never bought it.  I picked some up Monday night and it is absolutely delicious.  I've been eating it for lunch on low carb bread and man I've enjoyed it.  I'll be buying this again for sure.

**Loving this beautiful Lilac Bush outside my window at work.  Unfortunately I can't see it from my desk, but I see it every morning when I come in.  Finally stopped this morning and took a picture.

Thanks for visiting.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. It's like my mama always said, "______________________________________________." I really can't think of anything in particular, except, "lower your voice"  I was always at high volume and I think I still am a lot of the time.  lol

2. May 11th is National Eat What You Want Day. What will you be having by way of celebration? I didn't know it and we just had a typical kind of day.  However, I did have a really good chicken salad sandwich for lunch.

3. Describe your idea of a perfect spring day. Temperature in the 60's-70's range with bright blue skies and big fluffy white clouds.

4. Success, fulfillment, growth, achievement...pick one and tell us how it relates to your life in some way, either currently or in days gone by. Growth...I feel like I'm growing in my understanding of the Bible and God's nature.  I know I have a long way to go, but it seems I understand more today that I ever have.

5. I saw this going around on various social media sites and thought it would be fun to answer here. The last thing you bought on Amazon is your weapon in battle. How will you wield it? (if you're not an Amazon shopper, then the last thing you bought online anywhere) The last thing I bought was a knitting machine and I'll just keep knitting until I can smother them with what I made.  lol

6. Insert your own random thought here. In relation to #4 I'm really enjoying the Bible study we are doing on Joseph called "Finding God Faithful" by Kelli Minter.  Very good. If you're looking for a study, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for visiting.

Tuesday 4 - Summertime

Welcome! We remember Toni Taddeo with her Tuesday 4...

Let's discuss summer this week...

1. What emotions and feelings does summer conjure up for you?  Fun.  Even though I work, I still think of fun.

2. What's summer weather like in your neck of the woods?  Hot and muggy but not as muggy as being down south.  Air Conditioning is definitely my friend!

3. Got some special summer meals you and your family enjoy?  The traditional hotdogs and hamburgers are a favorite and then anything on the grill.  But my favorite is green beans, tomatoes and corn on the cob.

4. What do you enjoy doing in summer? Sports, trips.. do you go on vacation? I love taking day trips with my husband.  Picking up some lunch and driving to a lake, the river, Amish Country or wherever.

Thanks for visiting.
