Tuesday 4 - Bug Out

 Bug Out!

High winds, tree splitting winds and buckets of rain since yesterday and more on the way. The wind has been howling here for 2 days straight. Ian is on the coastline and not playing nice. We can play nicely though with Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 questions. Are you ready? Since the east coast is experiencing hurricanes and tropical storms let us explore the topic. Okay? Let's Go...
 1. Expert survivalists and weather experts say it is wise to have a bug out bag handy in case of evacuation, hurricane, earthquake or any emergency. You can see online how to create one. Do you have an emergency kit or bug out bag? No.

 2. Do you have plans with your family on where to meet and what to do in case of emergency? No.  But then again, hubby and I are almost always together.

 3. Do you keep your phone well charged and your gas tank topped off ? Mostly. Is your flashlight kept fresh with batteries?Yes, because I use it almost every night when taking the dog out after dark, Do you have a list of what to go where to go? No

 4. How about a little stash of emergency goods and foods to last a week or two?  They say it pays to do this.. do you? No, but we usually always have plenty of canned foods that could be used.

  1. Yep, I'm the same way about #'s 2 and 3. Unfortunately, I've grown lax about the other two -- must remedy that before next month, as November (and April) are most prone for tornados. Knowing that, wouldn't I feel stupid, getting caught unprepared?

    1. Totally get it. We have to worry about tornados here too.

  2. It's pretty much the same for us. Ohio and Pennsylvania just don't seem to have the weather emergencies like other states do. I do feel like maybe we should have a bag ready just in case as it seems like tornadoes happen more often than they used to.

  3. If you haven't got things prepared I'm assuming you live in a relatively safe place. Good for you.

  4. This does make us think about it, and that's a good thing. We had the drill last week with Ian coming our way. Thankfully he stopped short of us and went on up the coast, but not before wreaking havoc on so many people's lives in our state. It is wise to be prepared, but not to obsess about it. Just get ready and go when you have to go. We are thankful for God's protection.

  5. It seems a lot of answers were similar just depending on where someone lives.
