Friday Fragments / Bits of This and That

Mommy's Idea

Just thought I'd share some Bits and Pieces of things this week. Though I'd join in with the Friday Fragments at Half-Past Kissin' Time.

Isn't this the coolest sign.  Kelli drew and colored this for a friend's baby.  I love this.

My car hit 50,000 miles this week.  I thought that was cool and just had to take a picture.

I love my little pink iPod Shuffle.   Don't you just love little gadgets?

Here are the 4 flowers I bought and re-potted for my bread rack that's in front of the house.  Can't wait until they grow some and the other 2 start blooming.  I might buy a couple more plants for this rack.  Haven't decided yet.
We got the mulching finished tonight.  Thank goodness for Kelli and Kerri.  We would never have gotten it finished without them.  Kerri mowed the grass and Kelli did most of the mulch spreading.  Tracy and I cut open the bags of mulch and dumped them out for her.  Kelli and I trimmed the bushes and Tracy did the weed eating.

This is pretty much how I felt when we were finished!

Here's the front of the house with the black mulch down.  Love it when the grass is freshly mowed. Now I need the hanging baskets for the front porch, the American flag put out and the hummingbird feeder.
We're starting to see a lot of these again!  I love hot air balloons.

Kelli took this picture.  This wind chime hangs on our front porch.  I love the way the sun is shining through.

Kerri completed her classes yesterday!  She's now a Junior in High School!  Way to go Kerri

Well that's about all I have for now.  Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend!

  2. Beautiful picture of your house ... I love the porch. It's the one thing I really miss with this house. It's amazing how much better our homes look when the landscaping is all freshened and the yard mowed. It's a lot of work, but worth it, I think.

We used to see a lot of hot air balloons here, but we haven't seen any in the last year or two. Wonder why not.

That rack with the potted flowers is so pretty ... I never would of thought of doing something like that.

  3. I love to see a Hot Air Balloon too. Your yard and house look great. We have had so much rain this week-every single day. My plants that like the shade have grown so much already. My plants that crave sun are begging for it. Hoping we see some this weekend!

    Happy Memorial Day!

  4. First time here - on my FF rounds. Nice house. I wonder if there is a "support(?)" group for people that enjoy watching the odometer flip to rounded numbers. 60,000 will even be more fun.

  5. 1) We have a daughter Keri.

    2) You can be thankful I did not help you pot nor even TOUCH those plants on your bread rack, unless you like dry dead brown plants.

    3) As happy as I am to see that your odometer turned over 50,000 miles, I'm twice as happy to see that I am NOT THE ONLY ONE with dust on the dash.

    4) They launch hot air balloons across the street from us most years, and since we MISSED it last year, I'm really hoping they continue the tradition this August.

    1. Oh my...you cracked me up on the dust. I noticed that after I took the picture and then dusted it off and took another picture. When I posted, I guess I picked the wrong one because I had forgotten all about it by then. Too funny!

  7. Hi Cathy!
Your lawn looks wonderful! We've had a very humid week and some rain now and then ~ so most of our yard, flowers and garden look green!

Is Kelli finished with college for the year? You must be so happy to have her home.

My son is visiting from Austin and I'm just loving the family time!

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, with blessings always,
    Maria

  8. Beautiful House photos! Your grass looks great! So nice and green! After 3 weeks in the shop, we just got our mower back so Hubby had to cut it and it took twice as much work!
