Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Share one way you think the world has changed for the better since you were a kid?
The medical advancements that have been made are pretty great.  Just think of how a hip or knee replacement works now.

2. How 'bout one way it's changed for the worse?
The right to pray and read the Bible in our schools and military and our freedom to speak Jesus name any time and any place being taken away  is destroying our country.

3. Starlight, starfish, starling, Starbucks...your favorite 'star'?
The stars in the sky.  Any time I look at a starlit sky, all I can think about is how awesome our God is.

4. Name a song that's overplayed, but you love it anyway.
I don't know, I don't listen to live radio very often.  But one song I have heard a lot is "I Can Only Imagine" and I totally love that song.

5. When did you last have home made ice cream? Your latest favorite flavor?
I can't even remember the last time I had it but my favorite flavor is just plain old vanilla.

6. What do you think is the best way to inspire or motivate people?
I think example (you doing what you want to inspire them to do).

7. When was the last time you were without power?
Just this past week when we got home from work our power was out.  Of course, the garage door wouldn't work, but fortunately hubby had his front door key (I don't even have one any more. lol).  We came in and just relaxed for a while.  It came on after an hour or so and then we went on with our evening.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Does anybody else like "Castle" on TV.  We've been watching some of the older shows this summer and I've found I really like it.  Why is it I always find out I like a show after it's been on for 2 or 3 seasons. Anyway, hopefully I'll catch up on it.

  1. I love that song too. Friends of mine just saw them perform at the Delaware State Fair and said they were so good. We like Castle...we've seen it sort of hit and miss. We are behind on series too. Now that you can get a whole series in a set and watch from start to finish we've been watching some older shows too. Enjoy your day!

  2. I enjoy "Castle"! I love the 2 stars - and how the writers have them interact. The past season has been different since they finally are "officially" dating.

  3. I love your blog look! So pretty. Totally agree about medical advancements--great answer. I also love that Mercy Me song. Hmmm, never watched Castle but it sounds like I'm missing something good.

  4. I didn't think of medical advances, but they HAVE come a long way in 50 years! Good answer :)

I've watched "Castle" on a hit and miss basis, but haven't seen any of this season's shows.

  5. I've never watched Castle, but just from the previews, it looks good. I may have to check out older seasons.

    Yep - medical advances - that's a good one!

I can only imagine has been around a while... they played that at 2 of my friends funerals & they've been gone for awhile now... & the song is STILL popular.

  6. I absolutely love Castle! I watched it when I could, but then the boys got me the entire seasons 1-4 for Mother's Day, and we caught up with it this summer. Great show!

  8. Amen to your #2, the only time i was allowed to pray was after 9/11, i had wish we'd done that everyday!

  9. Yes the medical field has come a long way....good answer. Another great answer for #2, it is very sad that God is being removed from those things. Did you know that the car races are the one sports event on TV that still prays to God before the race begins. I haven't watch Castle. My list of shows is very long but I have heard it is very good.

  10. We were so dependant on our electric garage door opener that we never carried house keys! It is so sad that we got away from prayer. I think the world is getting scarier everyday!
