If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's Hodgepodge time.  Click the button above to join in. Thank you Joyce for the fun questions again this week.

1. Do your actions match your words? Elaborate.
I think so. At least I hope so. I think that's called integrity.

2. Sick as a dog, go to the dogs, dog days of summer, dog tired, it's a dog's life, every dog has it's day, can't teach an old dog new tricks...now doggone it which saying could most recently be applied to your life?
Right this moment...dog tired. It's Tuesday night at 9:00pm and I just finished my walk. So ready for bed, but it will be awhile yet.

3. Your favorite book featuring a dog in the storyline? What makes it a favorite?
A Dog Named Christmas. It's such a wonderful story and a movie too.

4. What's something you hope to one day have the confidence to do?
Retire.  I think it may take some courage to leave something I've done for over 2/3 of my life. Maybe next year.

5. August 16th is National Tell a Joke Day. So tell us a joke.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Got to see this little man today. Did not expect that, but oh so fun!

Mommy sent this picture of him on his way to see us

  1. Glad you got to see Colton. That head of hair!! So you're not looking forward to retirement? Or just that it will be so different? I hope you'll enjoy it whenever you decide to retire. I suspect you will not have a lack of things to do. Have a wonderful rest of your week, Cathy.

  2. So glad you got to see Colton! Those are the best surprises, aren't they? My mother didn't retire until she was 72 and then only because she had to. I have a friend who taught my youngest daughter in first grade and now they are colleagues teaching first grade together. My friend will be 72 this year and it is finally her last year of teaching. Some people just love what they do or, in my mother's case are workaholics who love what they do. :) I'm surrounded by those folks. When you do finally retire, I hope you love it! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  3. Oh, he's soooo cute and what a mop of curls! Love it! It took great courage for me to retire, but when I did finally, I was so glad. I love the new routine I have for my life, but I do miss my fellow workers.

  4. Love his curls!
When you do retire make sure to have plans for things to do. Hobbies, volunteering, travel. Whatever you want to do, because without some sort of plan you will be floundering with all the time on your hands.

  5. Retiring is a scary thought, but it's oh-so-worth-it in the end!!!
So glad you got to see your "little man". He's really growing :)

  8. I remember that story : ) Your grandson is looking like such a big boy now. They change so fast, don't they? Hope you're having a great day!

  9. Your grandson is such a cutie....those CURLS! Our Colton is just beginning to get hair you can actually brush a little bit. I think the poor kid is going to get his dad's hair rather my daughter's thick hair.

Loved your joke. Isn't that the truth!? LOL

  10. I never had a major career outside of the house, just part time at Hallmark when the kids got older. I think it would be very hard to leave your job. Hope you can do it. I know my husband is ready and he will love being home. Like the joke you shared. So glad you got to spend time with your grandson.

  11. The little minion joke is cute. If that is all it takes, I must be up to Ph.D. level by now.

  12. I loved your Minion quote in #5. If that's true, I'm a genius too. Your grandson is darling. Gigi, you are indeed blessed. Have a great week.

    The Minion quote is great.

Regarding #4, I'm not very good with change, either. I hope that when you retire, you'll have a wonderful time with it!

    Have a blessed weekend. :)
