If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. How will you celebrate Easter this year?
Mostly at home, except hubby and I will go to church for him to record his sermon for podcast and the plan is he's going to do a live feed sermon on FB for our church people.  That's if he can get everything figured out the way he wants.

2. Is it easier for you to receive grace offered or extend grace to another? Explain.
I think it's easier to extend grace to another.  I think it's hard for me to receive grace because I usually don't think I deserve it.  That being said, I think it's just as important to receive it as to extend it to another.  I'm working on this in myself.

3. Do you say grace before meals? If so do you have a standard dinnertime grace or is it more 'off the cuff' ? Do you say grace when dining out? Do you have a favorite grace? Any special memory associated with 'saying grace'?
Most of the time I do say grace before meals and it's mostly off the cuff.  Yes, we do say prayer when dining out. No, not really, but if eating out or even getting food from a drive through, I do like to pray a blessing on the ones who prepared and served us the food.  I'm thankful as a child we were taught to pray, not only at the table, but also before bed and anytime else is great too!

4. What are some challenges you think the next generation will face? (Generation Alpha-born between 2011 and 2025)
I really have no idea.  I think each generation has things they deal with that the generation before them didn't.  But I don't know what's next.

5. Share a favorite quote or lyric featuring the word faith.
I know you said, faith, but I'm using faithfulness.    Probably one of my all time favorite hymns is "Great Is Thy Faithfulness."  I just love the truth in the words, plus it is one of my most favorite to play on the piano, so they hear it quite often during offertory at our church.  I believe His faithfulness to us is so important even more so than our faith.  I think my faith grows when I see His faithfulness to me in so many ways in my life.

Here are the words.

Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
And all I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer
And to guide
Strength for today
and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord every morning new mercies I see
And all I have needed Thy hands hath
provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
So faithful too me

  2. Good ole Billy Graham.
I'm singing that hymn now. Hymns just make me think of all my younger days in church & I wish they were sung more often.

    1. Hymns are about all we sing at our church. I still love them, but sometimes wish we could do some of the newer stuff once in awhile.

  3. I can't believe Easter will be the fourth Sunday we've not been able to worship together -- thank goodness for Facebook live streaming! I was raised to pray, "Come Lord Jesus, be our guest; and let this food to us be blessed." -- that which we still say on occasions when my son and family comes for supper. Most of the time Tom and I eat at the kitchen bar ... different meals, differing times of day.

  4. Great Billy Graham quote! I love Great Is Thy Faithfulness. We sing it at church a lot---we sing only hymns, with an occasional "In Christ Alone" or "Ten Thousand Reasons" thrown in.

I, too, have a problem receiving grace. Most people I know do as well.

    Blessings to you!

  5. I'm hoping everything works out right for your husband's sermon. I know how much people are depending on that kind of connection these days. Me, included!
Billy Graham was a smart man.
Have a blessed and happy Easter!

  7. I also like Great is the Faithfulness. I grew up in a Methodist Church and I love the old hymns. Our church mostly sings contemporary worship songs which I also enjoy.

  8. I'm sure there are many challenges for pastors during this difficult season of being apart. Happy Easter to you! That is one of my favorite hymns too.
