Wednesday Hodgepodge

1  Ever played the game Farkle? Are you a risk taker? In games only or also in life?
No, I’ve never played Farkle. Depends on what the risk is. Both in games and life.

2. What's your favorite thing about your yard or whatever outdoor space you may have?
My front porch with the Cracker Barrel rockers.

3. Tell us about the most interesting building you've seen or been in.
The House on the Rock in Wisconsin. They even have a carousel in the house. Very unique and interesting to see.

4. In this current season of social distancing, what's something you've come to realize you take for granted in more ordinary times? Do you think you'll make a conscious effort to appreciate whatever that 'it' is once normal life resumes?
My church family. I always appreciate them but probably not as much as I should. But now having not been with them since March I think I’ll appreciate them evening more.

5. Share a favorite song with a springtime flower in the lyrics somewhere.
Edelweiss. What could be better than a little Sound of Music?

  1. I almost picked Edelweiss too. It's a favorite of mine and we used to sing it as a lullaby to our girls when they were small. I haven't heard of the Wisconsin house, but that's a state I've never been to so maybe one of these days.

    1. Yep, I agree. My daughter painted them black for us a few years ago and I really love them that color.

  5. I love those Cracker Barrel rockers! How nice to have a couple. Our DIL has a spare room in their home dedicated to the Sound of Music. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

  6. Sound of Music is one of my all-time favorites, so I almost chose Eidelweiss! I've always wanted one of those CB rockers but don't know where I'd put it.

  7. Oh, I love that song. Sometimes I just break out and sing it, along with many others from The Sound of Music. My favorite movie I think, at least for musicals. I used to have a Cracker Barrel Rocker on our porch at our last house. Here we have open decks, with no roof, so I can't put that kind of rocker out there. So I gave it to my DIL. They have a screened porch. I need to go over there and sit on it sometime. LOL. Yes, we are also missing our church family so much. We are starting now to see some at our local restaurant a little at a time. Won't be having church indoors until probably mid June. That is really getting difficult to wait for! But we gotta do what we gotta do. God bless you! This was interesting.

  8. I hadn't even heard of that game! Your porch sounds like a lovely place to relax. The house on the rock is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen it. I like your song choice, I didn't even realize that was a flower.

  9. Church family. I miss mine too! Can't wait until we're able to meet together again. Our Sanctuary holds 1200 and when all of our voices are lifted up in praise to the Lord it's glorious! I can't even imagine how great it will be our first Sunday back together again!

  10. Edelweiss is a great one! I visited Austria when I was 20, and stayed for 5 weeks with an American family originally from my hometown in Indiana. At a street festival, one of their friends gave me a real Edelweiss, which I still have, pressed in my travel journal. I should have thought of that song myself!
