1. Five years ago this month hubs and I relocated from New Jersey to the Palmetto State. What were you doing five years ago this month? The same thing I am now, working, going to church, and spending time with my husband.
2. What was the last 9-5 job you worked? Tell us about it. I’m still working in the same place that I started at when I was 19. I’ve changed positions over the years but I’m still there. In mid September it will be 44 years.
3. Plead the fifth, high five, take five, it's five o'clock somewhere, or the big 5-0...which number five phrase relates to your life in some way currently? Tell us how. Take five. I suppose as I’m getting older I need to take a short rest when doing physical tasks more than I used to. But usually just a few minutes and I’m ready to go on.
4. During this season of spending so much time at home, what distractions get in the way of being your most productive? Or have you been extra productive since this whole thing started? Since I still work every day, things really haven’t changed all that much for me.
5. Give us a list here of your top five anything. Five things I enjoy doing...reading, watching TV with hubby, taking long drives with hubby, playing the piano when no one is around, going on vacation to the ocean(of course, with the hubby!).
6. Insert your own random thought here. Planning to go to Florida next month for 3 days so I can be there when my oldest goes wedding dress shopping. I’m so excited.

WOW 44 YRS? WOW. (sorry, I am truly flabbergasted, smiles.)
ReplyDeleteHave a fun and safe trip, smiles.
I know. Rather rare these days.
DeleteWow Cathy, I don't think I've ever known someone who has worked in one place for 44 years! That's amazing!! So glad you are going to be able to come to Florida to go wedding dress shopping with your daughter, enjoy that special time. Have a blessed day :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a good job for me.
DeleteFellow Palmetto State resident. Enjoy your time in Florida.

Thank you. I hope to.
DeleteI didn't know your daughter was getting married. Congratulations! Enjoy your time in Florida and especially the dress shopping.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteForty four years in one location must be close to a record. How your heart must grieve seeing the changes in perception of police during these years. I am looking forward to a grandson's wedding in October in Indiana, and I'm dress shopping for that. I was able to go with the future granddaughter when she shopped for her dress. What a joy that was.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun and I'm hoping to enjoy the shopping with my daughter too.
DeleteOh that is something fun to look forward to. Enjoy the wedding dress shopping and congratulations on the future wedding.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWe are only 45 minutes from Riverview but if you only have three days, I won't ask for a meet-up. Time with family is too precious. Just keep Lakeland and Your Friend From Florida in mind when you are down this way!! Hodgepodge is always fun!
ReplyDeleteI sure will Terri! Thank you.
DeleteWow, you have been at your job for a long time, that is great! How exciting to go wedding dress shopping with your daughter. I hope travel is easy for you then.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm hoping so too.
DeleteHey! Thanks for stopping by, today. Congratulations on making it 44 years in the same place! That's quite an accomplishment! If my memory serves me, you're a dispatcher now?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and I both made it through our very difficult years, in 2015 and 2016. Praise the Lord!
I know you're looking forward to that Florida trip. I would be, too!
Kathy (Reflections)
I'm so thankful we did too! We are definitely blessed.
DeleteThat's a very long run on your job. I like your list of 5 anythings. How exciting picking out the wedding dress. Take care, stay well and God Bless.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to it.
DeleteCongrats on the wedding, enjoy the trip
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteA wedding's being planned...how exciting! And 44 years at the same company, you sure don't hear of that happening very much these days. Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stacy.
DeleteNothing better than going to the beach! Have fun with your daughter!
ReplyDeleteI agree and we plan to have 3 weeks at the beach in November.
DeleteI thought I was at my job a long time at 20 years. Wow! 44 years at your job. Have fun in Florida, but be safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will certainly try.
DeleteWow, you've been at the same job for 44 years? That's very impressive! I think Take 5 is my choice as well. I've been back to work for a few months now so I've really allowed myself time to chill when I'm home.
ReplyDeleteI never did have any time off during this pandemic, but I've relaxed more during my days off and the evenings too.
