Tuesday 4 - Happy New Year

Happy New Year and welcome once again to Tuesday 4 where we remember and honor the memory of our friend Toni Taddeo who began Tuesday4..

The Times Square ball first dropped on December 31, 1907. It is 12 feet in diameter and covered with Swarovski crystals.

1.  Despite the weirdness of this past year, was it still a good year for you anyway or not?  Yes, it was a good year for us.  We all stayed healthy and those in our family that did get Covid are recovered and healthy also.  God has provided.

2. How will you spend New Years Eve?  After we get off work, we plan to pick up hubby's mom and go out for some Italian and then we'll drop her off and we'll spend a quiet evening at home.  We may or may not stay up to watch the New Year come in.

3. What do you do on New Year's Day? Is football part of the agenda? We'll probably go out for lunch and maybe I'll run into a craft store or 2 or 3.  Then we plan to have pork and kraut for dinner and no football!

4. It's a Scottish tradition to kiss at midnight.  Do you keep that tradition? Does everyone get a kiss if you do?  We do keep the tradition if we are still up and only hubby gets the kiss.

May your new year be a bright and blessed one, free of trials and tribulations. All the very best to you and your family.

  2. We've never done pork and sauerkraut on New Years, but several bloggers have mentioned it and now my mouth's watering. NO football for this family, either. At least, not the NFL.

    1. Hubby is more of a baseball fan. We've never done much football.

  3. Pork and sauerkraut are traditional in my area also. It depends on how tired I am if I stay up until midnight. Happy New Year!

  4. Pork and sauerkraut is new to me but sounds good! I want my hubby to make green chili chicken pozole. It is a chicken soup with green chili sauce and hominy. It is normally made with pork, but hubby can't eat pork. Glad you are all healthy. Happy New Year!

  7. Sounds like a lovely holiday for you and your hubby! I didn't think about it, but I could do some shopping since I'm not going to take down the decorations till Saturday. Thanks for the thought...though Tim would probably disagree. lol Enjoy your week!

  8. Glad the family stayed well, even those who had covid. So are you picking up food or are your restaurants open? Nothing is open in California. We usually try to stay up. Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family.

  9. Sounds lovely. We usually have some family over on New Years Day, and this year my sister and her hubby are coming to spend the night on New Year's Eve, so we will have a nice time. Not sure about staying up until midnight, however. We shall see. I love pork and sauerkraut, but the family is not as big a fan. We may have pulled pork and some black eyed peas, however, or ham. Haven't made up my mind yet. Maybe both. LOL. Happy New Year!
