If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click above if you'd like to participate.

1. What's something we'd find you doing most afternoons?
Working and then coming home and walking the dog and helping fix dinner.

 2. Who do you take after? In what way(s)?
I really have no idea, but I suppose my mom in some ways.

 3. 'After every storm comes a rainbow' or 'the calm before the storm'...which phrase do you relate to more right now? Tell us why?
Maybe the calm before the storm.  Things have been pretty quiet and calm for us lately.

4.What are your plans for the day after tomorrow?
Friday I'll be working and then usually on Friday we order in supper and relax at home where I'll be doing some knitting and maybe reading too.

 5. Complete this sentence-"After all is said and done there is no need for me to worry or fear because God is in control and He holds me in his hands!."

 6. Insert your own random thought here.
Here's a quote I found somewhere, I don't remember where.  But I have it attached to the monitor in my office at work and read it most every day.

"Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change.  Prayer is a conversation you have with God about things He can change."

  1. I'm not the most religious person but I love that quote. For the most part, I think the world would be better off if people did a lot more things internally; spoke to the God of their choosing to steel themselves for the harsh realities of life. We may all be a bit happier too!

  2. Amen to #5. Now I am singing "Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future and life is worth the living just because He lives". I love the old hymns!
Your Friday night sounds perfect. Have a great week Cathy :)

  3. There are not many take out options here that make sense. By the time you pop into town for pick up you might as well eat there. And no delivery, so we do a lot of cooking. Which is mostly fine : ) We normally eat out some, but haven't in months in anticipation of the wedding. We may try it now though. Have a great day!

  5. That's a super quote, Cathy! I've been a worrier/fretter/what-iffer all my life, so this is something I need to commit to memory until it becomes a habit.

  7. I read today something Dr. Jeffress, pastor of FBC Dallas wrote, and I paraphrase, "We know that there will be dark days ahead for not just Christians, but for the whole population as policies are changed and freedoms threatened. But, for the believer, we will not go though these times alone. Yes, God is in control!

  9. Come on, Friday!! Your plans sound very restorative.
My family counselor always cautioned me to not say 'worried' because it showed a lack of faith. Love the quote you shared. Great reminder.

  10. Wonderful quote...I love that. We need to commit many things to the Lord these days and trust Him for the outcome. We need to go on with life and put our trust in Him. He will take care of us. Your Friday night sounds delightful! We used to always do pizza or something like that on Friday nights when I was still working (or we went out to eat). It was my evening off from the kitchen. We don't do supper out much anymore, but once in a while our kids come over and pick up pizzas and we do a pizza night. I love that when it happens!! Have a wonderful day!

  11. Cathy,

I love the quote you shared! Worry doesn't do us any good. Everything is in God's hands. Why can't we just fully rely on Him in times of crisis? Letting go is still a work-in-progress thing for me but I've made some marvelous steps in recognizing when I'm stressing unnecessarily before submitting my worries to the Lord. Thanks for sharing and when you get a chance I hope you'll stop by for a visit with me Curious as a Cathy!
