Wednesday Hodgepodge

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 463

From this Side of the Pond

1. What's something that makes you feel stressed?
Dealing with insurance and figuring out what I need to do next with Medicare. How do you cope? I put it off for a while and then I finally just dig in and get it done.

2. What's a food you eat that evokes a memory? Fruit Loops Cereal Explain. They always remind me of my dad's mom because it was at their home in Safety Harbor, FL that I ate Fruit Loops for the first time.

3. This week's Hodgepodge lands on National Visit Your Relatives Day. Will you celebrate by visiting a relative? No, I don't think so. (Actually Kelli and her husband are flying in today as she is in a wedding this weekend and we'll see them for a few minutes, but will really get to visit on Thursday and Sunday with them) However, some of my girl cousins and I had lunch together yesterday.   If so is travel involved? For them a flight from Florida, but not for us. Geographically, who is your nearest relative (not counting those living in your own house)? My sister only lives about a mile from our home.

4. What's your most frequently used emoji? 😂Do you make more phone calls, send more emails, or mainly text to communicate with friends and family? Mostly phone calls and some texts, rarely email.

5. Tell us the story behind a favorite piece of furniture. I have several favorites and all were made by my dad.  My Livingroom end tables, a wardrobe in our bedroom, etc.  Love them all.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

  1. We don't much eat cereal anymore but I'm thinking about trying to put Froot Loops into a stout or porter. Might be an interesting flavor combo!

  2. I know Safety Harbor! (*grin*) The only memory I have of eating Fruit Loops was me and my girlfriend stringing them to make necklaces. We ate so many, my stomach was not happy.

  4. I love cereal, but don't think I've ever had fruit loops in them. They sound delicious!

Your writing about the furniture your Dad made makes me feel melancholic. My Dad used to make a lot of my furniture too.

  9. haven't had any Fruit Loops in a long time. Now I want some. LOL. I rarely ever ate them because they are a sweet cereal, and we only got to have sweet cereals when we'd go camping and Mom would buy those packages of snack pack cereal boxes. Remember the kind you could open up the box and actually pour the milk in the little box and eat them right out of the box? That was really handy when we went camping. I always wanted the Frosted Flakes. My sister and I would fight over them. LOL. How wonderful that you have furniture that your dad made for you. That is really special indeed. And I love that you and your cousins get together for lunch occasionally. That is sweet. All my cousins live too far away...(Ohio, PA mostly). Oh, to get to see your daughter and hubby soon...that is really special. Have a wonderful rest of your week.
