Bits of This and That

Good Morning:

How are things in your neck of the woods?  It's good here with blue skies and sunshine, although, it is still pretty cold.  It's only 29 degrees here right now, however, it's supposed to reach 49.  I'm looking forward to that.  And I believe it's supposed to get warmer as the week goes.  It's been a cold and windy weekend too, but we still enjoyed it.

I finished book #3 in a series I'm reading by Alana Terry and immediately went to Libby and checked out book #4.  I also, bought another book by Jean L. Kuhnke and that's the one I'm currently reading and will hopefully finish it today or tomorrow.

Over the weekend, we ate out a couple of times and I went to 2 different Hobby Lobby's for a total of 3 visits and I also went to Joann's once.  I bought yarn to make 3 different baby blankets.  They both had some nice sales and with Hobby Lobby they are closing out of some of their yarn and it was such a good price, I couldn't resist.  No pictures, but I'll try to show the finished projects at some point.

We've also been watching a live feed of 2 eagles (Bette and Baker) in our county who are sitting on their 2 eggs.  I check in every so often.  I believe one is hatching today sometime.  It started late last night,  If you are interested, you can google Little Miami Conservancy.  The below pictures are from the live feed that I had playing on our TV.

On Sunday we went to Sunday School and Church and then went home for a nap and back to church for the evening Bible Study.  I'll post the pre-recorded Sunday Sermon in case any of you are following along on the series.

Well, there's our weekend in a nutshell.  I hope you had a good one too.

  1. Hi Cathy, I remember how excited I was to see eagles when we were in Alaska. They are big! I go to Hobby Lobby about once a week. Our Joann's is small but they do have lots of material. Yes, share what you are making. I have a great day!

  2. Blue skies and sunshine sound nice. Nice that you are doing some reading. I just can't get myself to read. Have fun making the baby blankets. How exciting watching that live feed. Our eagles need to be protected.

    1. I believe you are right. We've driven out trying to find the nest, but had no luck until today. They panned around with the camera and between that and google maps we figured out where it is. We took a drive out and found it. Of course, we pretty far away, but it was still fun to see and we could see the white head of mom or dad peeking up over the top of the nest. So cool!!!

  3. I'm not the slightest bit crafty, but love Hobby Lobby all the same! Thanks for the info on Bette and Baker's nursery. I'm going to check it out!

  4. Sounds like you had quite a busy and productive weekend. All that yarn, etc. should turn out to be something(s) wonderful! Can't wait to see what you create. You are very talented! It was about 39 here this morning and very cool and windy all day...yesterday too. Amazing for us here in Florida. Oh, I'd love to see the baby eagles hatch! I may have to check that out. I've been enjoying our little baby Sand Hill Cranes toddling around our yard yesterday and today. They are so adorable! Spring is a wonderful time. God's creation is amazingly beautiful.

  5. I love the eagle cam! When we were driving to Tennessee last week my daughter and I spotted an eagle in a nearly bare tree just beside the highway. Amazing! We see a lot of hawks, osprey, and herons on the lake but there are a few eagles too. When our house was under construction one landed on our dock roof. We've never seen that happen again. Hope you have a nice week!

  6. Love that you're watching the eagles! They weren't quite exciting enough to keep the folks I work with interested so we've been watching live feed of a mama bear and her two cubs. They're living under someone's porch!

  7. It is so easy to get lost in Hobby Lobby and come out with a cart full of things I just have to have. That's why I do my best to not go inside!! LOL Also glad that our Joann's Fabric is 10 miles away, up in our northern part of town or I would have to hold myself back from there too. Glad you found some good yarn sales!! Do keep us posted!! xo

  8. I never realized what beautiful birds eagles are. Thank you for sharing.

Three trips to Hobby Lobby in a weekend and Joann's for the cherry on top!! Glad you found some good deals on yarn. I am getting ready to start a craft project (painting) with my sister and need to find the supplies for the project. A trip to Hobby Lobby might be in my future!!
