If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Memory Lane

Wednesday's Walk Down Memory Lane

Come for a walk with me down Memory Lane!
And if you have a "Memory Lane" post, head on over to Scottsville to join in on the fun!

This is my Great Grandma and Grandpa on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. According to the writing on the back of the picture (written by my grandmother) someone got her a robe and had her put it on and then they had her hold these flowers. I got this picture off of FB on my cousin's page. I love FB because I'm finding out things about my family I never knew. I've talked about this lady before on my blog. She was a great woman of faith. When she prayed, God definitely listened. My dad tells us stories about her praying and people being healed all the time. I wish I could have met her.

  1. Oh wow, I bet you do wish you could've met her. I my my great grandmother, but don't remember it really. I was only about a year old....

I do know that she almost sat on me when I was a week old, and my mom grabbed her just in time, but left horrible bruises on her arms from where she SQUEEZED her so hard to keep her from sitting down the rest of the way.

I wear HER original wedding band to this day as my own. Kinda neat huh?

Thanks for bringing back memories of my own by sharing yours with me. Walks are fun, aren't they?

  2. That is so neat! Makes me think of my grandma! I love hearing old history! My grandparents wrote us books (a fill out type) about themselves to us grandkids a few years back. When I was little and I'd stay the night at my grandparents, I'd sleep on the couch and my Grandma would always be out praying in the living room early in the morning! I still call her when there is an important prayer issue!

  3. Wow, that picture looks old. Their 50th anniv., how wonderful.

My folks are on their 63rd anniv. I think.

I did not know my greats at all. It is nice that your cousin has shared these memories with your family.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Haven't had much time. My kids are both gone this week so I have my days and evenings completely to myself. My husband works swing shift.

    Trying to catch up.
    Take care,
    Nannette
