If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Pictures of My Week Volume 5

Here are some pictures from my week.
A hot air balloon flew over while I was out early with Lucy Saturday morning.
Meeting Oscar.  He's coming to visit today! Oh and so is his mommy!  lol

Taken from our back porch.  Such beautiful blue skies Sunday.

Lucy and I on a walk Tuesday evening.

We saw some ducks on our walk

We also saw the Statue of Liberty.

Poor little Lucy worn out after walking a mile with mommy.

Wednesday morning on a 2 mile walk.

The moon running in and out behind the clouds above the trees last night.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Thankful Thursday.

http://www.knitbygodshand.com/2015/06/thankful-thursday-little-different-today.html

Today I am thankful for:

*  I got my blood drawn for lab work this morning and they got it on the first stick and I shouldn't have to do this again until January.  Yay!

*  the good Bible Studies we've been having on Wednesday nights at Church.  My hubby is such a good teacher.  He brings it down to my level.

*  that hubby doesn't mind answering my questions at home either.

*  God's been waking me up in the morning to read his word and to get in a walk too.  I'm so glad to be walking again.  I don't know why I stopped, other than being lazy.

*  that hubby and I are starting to cook more at home and not eat out so much.  It's better for our budget and for our waists!

*  that the new season of Duck Dynasty has started again.  It always makes me laugh, but mostly it's so nice to hear them pray and not be afraid to mention the name of Jesus.

*  the beautiful day we had yesterday.  Not super hot, low humidity and beautiful blue skies.  Today is not as nice, but I'm still thankful for a new day.

So that's my list for this week.  What are you thankful for?

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Time for this week's Hodgepodge.  Hope you'll play along too.  Just click the Hodgepodge Button on the left.

1. June 23rd is National Pink Day. What's your favorite something pink?
I can't think of a favorite pink thing.  But I do like pink and in fact, I'm wearing pink right now.

2. What did you enjoy most about gym class when you were in school? How about the least?
I loved when we jumped on the trampoline.  I hated field hockey.

3. What memory is brought to mind by the smell of roses?
When I was a very little girl (3-8 yoa) mom and dad had beautiful red climbing roses on the fence that went around our back porch.  I've never forgotten those roses.

4. Do you prefer to read or write?
Read for sure.  I'm terrible at writing and often wonder why in the world I blog.  But I love meeting people and blogging is a great way to do that.

5. Sam Keen is quoted as saying, 'Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.' Would you agree? Is laziness ever respectable? How will you be lazy this summer?
Depends on what you mean by lazy.  I don't think it's wrong to rest.  I don't believe we need to, or even should be busy all the time.  But if by lazy, you mean not taking care of business and doing what needs to be done ever, then that's not right.

6. The Florida Keys, Disney World, or a resort somewhere on the Gulf Coast...which Florida destination would you choose (and why) if the trip were today?
If it were today, I'd say the Gulf Coast so I could visit my daughter.  I bet I surprised you with this answer!  If you've been here much before then you know I'm a major Disney addict.  However, right now would not be a good time for us to visit Disney as hubby has an injured knee.  He fell a couple weeks ago and really messed it up good.  It's getting better, but is definitely not ready for a Disney trip.

7. What question do you hate to answer?
How much do you weigh?  lol

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Pictures of My Week Volume 4

It's Friday and time to share some pictures from my week...

There are many pretty flowers in our subdivision I see as I'm taking my morning walks.

I love this grass with the pink flowers in front of it.

Pretty yellow flowers around a mail box
Another pretty purple flower
A real close-up of Lucy.  She has the most expressive eyes.
I loved these clouds as we were driving down the road.  No, I wasn't driving, I was the passenger. :)

Hubby and I tried a "new to us" restaurant last week.  Chuy's.  It was very good.

The sky while I was walking today.  Looks like it's going to be another cloudy, rainy day.
So, that's my week in pictures.  How was your week?

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday and it's time to be intentionally thankful.  If you have something to be thankful for, write a post and then go here to join in with Knit by God's Hand.  .

I'm thankful for the following things that are not in any particular order, except for just how my mind works.

*  Netflix - I've been enjoying watching some old shows with hubby and watching Gilmore Girls for me.  I also enjoying catching movies there from time to time.

*  Google - I love being able to search for anything I want to know and being able to find the answers most of the time.  Like for example...I couldn't remember the name of the show Gilmore Girls, so I did a search for "the old mother daughter show where the daughters name is Rory".  And it worked!!  Who knew?  lol

*  Patsy Clairmont's book "Catching Fireflies - I just got this book on my Kindle from our library.  I just started it, but already I can tell it's going to be good.  Have you ever thought about the fact that God's first recorded words are, "Let there be light."  And then about the fact that His son, Jesus, is the Light of the World.  I don't know about you, but that makes me happy and makes my mind go in all different directions thinking about it.  See that's why I love Christian authors like Patsy Clairmont.  They make me think and show me things I've never noticed before.

*  My camera phone -- I'm thankful to be able to take pictures at the drop of the hat because I almost always have my phone with me.

*  This verse...

And that's my rather random list.  So what are you thankful for.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's Wednesday, so it must be Hodgepodge time.  Thanks Joyce for all the good questions you give us.  If you'd like to answer these questions, do so on your blog and then click on the button to the left and link up with Joyce.  You won't regret it.  It's a great way to make some new blogging friends.

1. June is National Great Outdoors Month. Have you spent any time appreciating the great outdoors this month? If so where, and if not do you have any plans to enjoy the great outdoors before the calendar turns?
No, I haven't spent much time outdoors this month, unless you count mowing the grass.  I have noticed some really beautiful skies though and have appreciated them by taking a few pictures.

2. What's a current hot button issue for you?
I really can't think of anything right now.

3. What's a food or treat that 'disappears like hotcakes' in your house
Mashed Potatoes...and unfortunately, I'm the one that makes them disappear.  That is why I seldom make them.  However, I did make them tonight (the first time in several months) and I did a fairly good job of making them disappear.  lol

4. How hot is too hot?
If your talking weather then anything above 80 degrees is too hot in my opinion.  I much prefer the 70's.  Unless, of course, I plan to go swimming.  Then it can be a lot hotter.  However, since I don't have a pool or live on the beach, I'd much rather it stay in the 70's.

5. Do you have an artistic outlook on life? What does that mean to you?
No I don't think I do.  I really don't have an artistic bone in my body.

6. What's one question you'd like to ask your father, or one you wish you could ask your father?
I suppose if there were something I really wanted to ask my dad, I already would have done it.

7. Something you learned from your father?
To love good southern gospel music and the old hymns.  While dad has forgotten so many things, he still knows all the words to the old hymns and to the older southern gospel songs.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
After all the warnings I've heard, I've finally decided I need to stop drinking Diet Coke or really any diet pop.  So, I haven't had one since last Thursday.  That's 5 days!  I'm pretty proud of myself.  I'm actually drinking more water and that is something I definitely need to do.

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday and time to be intentionally thankful.  Click here to join in.

In no particular order (which is how my mind works), I'm thankful for:

*our Taco Bell drive-thru is open again.  They are in the midst of remodeling, but at least they have opened the drive-thru.  Oh how I've missed Taco Bell.

*both daughters have gotten new jobs.  Kelli's started a few weeks ago and she absolutely loves it.  Kerri starts hers this next week.  Both have been in food service for a long time and now both are in other fields.  They are so happy and excited to be doing something new and I'm happy for them.

*for my job.  Even though sometimes I think I'd like to retire, I'm thankful to have a good job that provides well for us.

*for my hubby and my pastor.  They are one in the same.  He is the love of my life, but he is also my spiritual leader.  He is pretty special and has helped me grow spiritually in so many ways.  I'm so glad God gave him to me.

That's my list for this week.  What are you thankful for?

Pictures of My Week Volume 2

It's Friday and time to see some of the pictures from my iPhone and or iPad that I have taken this week.  I have to be honest.  A couple of these pictures I didn't take.  My sister took them and I stole them from her.  However, I did save them on my iPhone, so they still fit the bill of pictures from my iPhone or iPad.

Lucy all curled up and ready for sleep.  She did not like me taking her picture.

Karen brought mom and dad's dog, Stewart to visit on their birthday.  That's one of the worst things with them living in the senior center. They can't have their dog.  Stewart is the first dog my dad has ever shown any affection for and they are very good buds.

As I said yesterday, Wednesday was mom and dad's 65 wedding anniversary.  It was also both of their birthdays.  I think my dad must have searched around for a girl who shared his birthday and then married her on their birthdays so he would never forget their anniversary or her birthday!!  Smart man! haha

Mom and Dad

Here they are in their dining area.  Aren't they just the cutest things in the world.

Beautiful skies and yes I am standing in the middle of the road to take this picture.  :)
I've been wanting a watch and I finally picked this one.  I love it.  I mean it's got bling and Tinkerbell and says Disney.  What's not to like?!

So that's some of my week in pictures.

Thankful Thursday.

It's once again time for Thankful Thursday with Rebecca Jo at Knit by God's Hand, where we are intentional about remember to be thankful. Here's today's list (in no particular order).

*  Thankful for my parents and getting to celebrate their Dad and his 87th birthday, Mom and her 82nd birthday and their 65th anniversary with them yesterday.  Yes, all 3 things really are on the same day.  God you have so richly blessed me with great parents.

*  I'm thankful for gravy and biscuits from McDonald's every once in a while.  Hubby took me to work and then picked up some breakfast and brought it to me today.  He's such a good guy.

*  I'm thankful to have our mowers back.  The yard is starting to look a little better now.

*  I'm thankful that I'm feeling better.  I've had a head and chest cold for almost a week now.  Today, I actually almost feel human.

*  I'm thankful for the privilege of serving God and knowing that He cares about me and the things I worry about.

*  I'm thankful to know, there really is no reason to worry, because it's all in His hands and He is quite capable of taking care of it.  And nothing, absolutely nothing takes Him by surprise and nothing touches His children without going through His hands first!  I take great comfort in this thought.

So, what are you thankful for?  Why not make a list on your blog and then go to here to link up with Thankful Thursday.
