My Weekend

This is my weekend in a nutshell. Chinese carry-in on Friday and lots of knitting. Saturday, morning knitting (finished a hat & started a scarf trying a new stitch for me). Lunch with hubby and errands. Visited parents, then home to laundry, more knitting and watching some TV. Sunday, picked Kerri up for church, good service, lunch with Kerri and Charlie met us too. Then home for a nap and church with a great sermon (on video) by Anne Graham Lotz. What a wise woman. She talked about right where I feel I am in my life right now. And this was a sermon from June 2014. God knows I needed it now because it wouldn't have meant near as much if I'd heard it back when she preached it. Then home for the evening, just relaxing.

So there you have it. That was my weekend in the quick version. Here are a couple of items that are now in my Etsy shop.

Oh and we are now starting verse #3 of the SSMT on Beth Moore's blog.  My verse is:  You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. Psalm 139:3 NLT

How was your weekend?  Are you participating in the SSMT?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Thankful Thursday and SSMT Verse 2

Joining in for the second time for Thankful Thursday.

I'm thankful for beautiful sunrises, even when it is terribly cold outside.  This was taken in our back yard.

I'm thankful for the opportunity to listen to audiobooks from the Library while working.

I'm thankful for adorable pictures of my girls when they were little.  This is one of my favorites and hangs in my office at work.

I'm thankful for beautiful sunsets.  This was taken in our backyard.

Sky pictures almost always make me thing of God.  Here's another sunset picture taken while driving down the road in our van.  Thus the reflections you see.  But I just think the sky was so pretty.
I'm thankful for a good report from the doctor.  Blood pressure is great and cholesterol has come down considerably.  Awesome!!

Another thing I'm thankful for is the opportunity to participate in the SSMT Scripture Memory Challenge.  It's time for verse #2 now.

Psalm 139:2  "You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away."

SSMT

This year I've really felt God drawing me to do the Beth Moore Siesta Scripture Memory Team thing. I really didn't want to do this because I've started a couple times and never followed through. I think in the past it was more me wanting to do the "in" thing. And besides scripture memory is hard. I know...whine, whine. lol

But for some reason I feel God is calling me to participate in scripture memorization. It just seemed that I couldn't get away from it. And then when I was thinking about what to memorize, the 139th Psalm came to mind. Guess what! It has 24 verses. The exact number the SSMT memorizes each year. So yeah, I just have to do it. The first verse is "O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me." Isn't that cool!! He knows me and yet He still loves me. That just amazes me.

Here's to hoping I'll remember this truth along with the other 23 verses. And even more than the memorization that these verses will reveal more of the character of God to me. And that through this effort I'll draw even closer to my Heavenly Father.

If you would like to participate, you can go to The LPM Blog.

2011 Siesta Scripture Memory Team #12

"He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber." Psalm 121:3 KJV
My plans are to memorize this whole chapter.
Isn't it wonderful to know that we can rest and sleep because He never does?

Siesta Scripture Memory Verse #7

It's April 1st and time for Siesta Memory verse #7. Again, I've picked a familiar verse from Isaiah. I've knida fallen behind on the memorization, but I refuse to give up. I'm going to get these learned yet or at the very least have them so ingrained in my mind that I'll have the gist of them all.

Here's my verse for this time:
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3

Siesta Scripture Memory Verse #6

It's March 15th and time form Siesta Memory verse #6.  Again, I've picked a verse from Isaiah.  This is a familiar one to us all, but I need an easier one this time, cause I still haven't gotten the last one memorized.  But I refuse to give up.  I'm going to get these learned yet or at the very least have them so ingrained in my mind that I'll have the gist of them all.
Here's my verse for this time:
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

So why don't you go here and join in with the rest of us and start memorizing the Word of God.

Siesta Scripture Memory #5

Well it's March 1st and time for a new memory verse. This time I chose Isaiah 8:13 "Do not fear anything except the LORD Almighty. He alone is the Holy One. If you fear him, you need fear nothing else."  Another great verse from Isaiah.  I am so loving Isaiah at this point in my life.
I really appreciate Beth Moore encouraging all of us in the pursuit of knowing and understanding the scriptures and encouraging us to memorize scripture. You know it's not too late to start memorizing with us. It's on the 1st and 15th of each month and by the end of the year we'll have learned 24 verses.  So go here  if you want to join in.

Siesta Scripture Memory #4

Well it's February 15th and time for a new memory verse. This time I chose Isaiah 1:18  “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool."  Another great first from Isaiah.  Who knew that Isaiah was so rich.  I love it.

If you start today, you'll memorize 21 and that's very awesome too! So go here  if you want to join in.

Siesta Scripture Memory #3

Well it's February 1st and time for a new memory verse. This time I chose Isaiah 46:4 “I will be your God throughout your lifetime–until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”   Recently I've discovered how much I love Isaiah.  I never knew there was this much great stuff in it.  So far all my Siesta Scripture Memory Verses have come from Isaiah.  Who knows all 24 may come from there.  God has so many wonderful promises in the Bible and I love discovering them.  I love this verse telling me God's going to take care of me even when I'm old (which I'm pretty close to) and that He'll carry me where I need to go and save me, all because He made me.  I guess if He made me, he can surely take care of me!

If you start today, you'll memorize 22 and that's very awesome too!  So go here, if you want to join in.

Siesta Scripture Memory

Beth Moore at her blog is hosting the Siesta Scripture Memory Team again for 2011. On the 1st and 15th of each month they make a post and anyone who wants to participate can leave a comment with the verse you plan to memorize. By the end of the year we should all have 24 verses memorized. I think that's pretty cool and I think it's something I can handle doing. I don't know about you, but I've never memorized 24 verses in a year before. But I'm on #2 starting today.

My verses are:

1 - “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:13 NLT

2 -
“Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” Isaiah 46:10 NLT

As you can see, I've also put them in my sidebar so I'll see them every time I come to my blog.  So if you want to participate, go here for Beth's directions and go here to post your scripture for week 2.  I think it's going to be pretty neat to have this much more scripture hidden in my heart.
