If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Tuesday 4 - Cowboys

 Cowboys

painting by Mark Maggori
It's time once again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.  Let's talk about cowboys this week. Link is here.

1.  Do you like western style chuck wagon cooking?  Stews, chilis, beef steaks, BBQ  etc.? Yes, I do.

2.  Do you make a good chili or do you know someone whose chili is the best ever? Beans, meat or both? My husband makes my favorite chili and it has both meat and beans.  In fact, I think he plans to make it Friday night for dinner.

3.  Who is your favorite cowboy movie star?  It's been a long time since I've watched a cowboy movie, but I have always like John Wayne.

4.  Do you have a favorite western TV show or movie? Gunsmoke, because I have always like Marshall Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty.  And I also used to love Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

Bits of This and That

Good Morning:

It's another Monday, the start of a brand new week and that makes me happy. We had another nice weekend.  On Friday, we took Lucy to the groomers (she was in dire need) and we knew it would be about 3 hours.  So we picked up some Chipotle for lunch and went to church.  Hubby recorded his Sunday morning sermon for YouTube and FB.  I did some things in my office which I enjoyed.  After we picked up Lucy and took her home, we took a drive to Dayton.  I was asked to come to Dayton's Children's Hospital to be with a friend who was there with her 6 month old baby.  She needed sleep, but wanted to hold her baby and they didn't want her to sleep holding him unless someone could be with her and make sure they were safe.  So hubby drove me up there so I would know the route I needed to take and it made it so much easier for me on Saturday when I had to go by myself.  After that we came home and had a quiet evening at home.

On Saturday, I headed to the hospital around noon and stayed with her until almost 5:00pm.  It was so good to catch up as we haven't seen much of each other in the past years.  This is the girl that was fostered in the same home as my girls.  She and her 2 sisters were adopted by these foster parents and we adopted our 2 girls and we always kept the girls in touch with each other when they were young and this girl and my oldest are the best of friends today (even though one is in Ohio with her family and the other is in Florida).  My daughter texted me on Thursday and said mom, you need to contact her because she needs some help and none of her friends are available.  So I did and hopefully I was a help to her.  She definitely got some pretty good sleep while I was there to watch over them.  The doctors say her 6 month old son has cancer.  They are waiting to hear more and to see what needs to be done.  If you, pray, I would love for you to add your prayers to all of ours for baby John.  I won't post his picture as she is very private about her children and family. But I know she would appreciate your prayers for John and her whole family.

When I got home, hubby had made us dinner and then we had another quiet evening at home.

On Sunday we had church and Sunday School and then Sunday evening we had our monthly Hymn Sing.  Of course, in the afternoon, we both had a nice nap and I read a little.  Below is the recording of the final sermon on the book of Ruth. I have loved this series and if you are interested, I've posted all 8 of them on the Bits of This and That posts or you can go directly to YouTube, if you'd prefer.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Share 4 Somethings - February

I'm linking up with Jennifer at Overflowing with Thankfulness for Share 4 Somethings.  The prompts are things we loved, read, learned and ate in February.

Loved:  I have loved the new crochet group I'm part of.  I'm enjoying crocheting again, but mostly I'm enjoying spending time with and getting to know these friends.  So much fun talking, laughing, and crocheting together.

Read:  I've read 5 books in February and currently I'm in the middle of a 6th book and hope to finish it before the end of the month. If you're curious about what I've read you can check my Good Reads link in the right sidebar. I'm in the middle of another one and still have 1 or 2 in the wings ready to read.

I've also been reading the 4 Gospels along with Annie F. Downs.  This month we're reading the Gospels in the ESV version.  I've never read this version much, but I'm really liking it.

Learned:  I learned that I didn't really realize how much we depend on our garage door opener.  It quit working right a couple weeks ago and only worked intermittently, so we never knew if we'd be able to get in the garage or not.  So Monday hubby decided to call a company we've used before and they sent a guy out that afternoon and we now have a new opener and that makes me very happy.

Ate:  We went out for our anniversary and that was definitely the best meal I've eaten in awhile.  We went to Texas Roadhouse and I had the Dallas Filet and it was the most tender steak and great flavor.  Also, had a salad and baked potato and their rolls are to die for with the cinnamon butter.  Yum!!

Well that's my 4 Somethings for February.  You can link up here if you'd enjoy writing a Share Something post.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a good weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Link up here.

Things I am thankful for this week:

**Beautiful skies and sunsets

**Another anniversary - 34 years together with my husband. I feel God blessed me so much by giving me this man.  I think hubby would say the same about me.  Thank you God for letting us meet each other and love each other.  Again, what a blessing.

**Scripture - I am enjoying reading the 4 Gospels along with Annie F, Downs.  In January we read from the NIV version and this month we are reading from the ESV version.  I'm noticing things that I don't remember seeing before.  I just want to know more about Jesus and where better to learn than in the Gospels.

**Ruth Series of Unexpected Grace in our Sunday morning sermons at Church.  Ruth is such a short book, but it is stuffed full of good stuff.

**Reading - I have read about 11 books so far this year and I'm currently reading another good one and I have several in the wings waiting.

**Crocheting - I'm really liking crocheting again and I am so thankful for the ladies that started a group and invited me too.  First of all, I'm loving getting to know them.  I'm so thankful for new friends.

**Journaling/Coloring Bible - I am still enjoying this so much.  This is the one I'm currently working on.  I am so thankful for the grace of Jesus and I can't imagine surviving in this world without His grace.

**New Garage Door Opener - Our old opener was having problems.  It only worked intermittently.  Hubby called a company we have used once before.  The guy came out Monday and several options were give and hubby decided we'd be better to get a new one.  We've had this one for a long time and trying to fix it would have cost almost as much as just putting in a new one.  You don't realize how much you use something until it isn't working any more.  So thankful to have it working again and it's much quieter too.

**Revival - I'm so thankful for the revival at Asbury and the outpouring of the Spirit.  It's so encouraging and I hope lives will be changed for everyone there and then that they will testify and share to all they know and that the Spirit will change many more lives through them.

That is all for today and I hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond
Click above to link up.

1. What do you find is the most boring part of your life at the moment? Doctor's appointments...well especially the waiting part.

2. February 22nd is George Washington's birthday. You'll find his face on the US $1 bill. What's the last thing you bought for roughly $1.00? (.94 €/ .83 £)
Anything purchased at the Dollar Tree (however they are no long just a dollar)  and the same with McDonald's drinks being a dollar.  They just raised the price in our area this year.

3. Is it ever okay to tell a 'little white lie'? Explain. No, I don't think it is okay.  I really don't believe in God's economy that there are little and big sins.  All sins are wrong and sin causes separation between us and God.  However, if you're planning a surprise party or playing along with the Easter Bunny and Santa...I believe that's different.

4. What's the last thing you 'chopped'? Cherry pie, chocolate covered cherries, a bowl of cherries, cherry vanilla ice cream, maraschino cherries, a cherry lifesaver...your favorite cherry flavored something? Bing cherries are the only cherries that I really like and I do not like most cherry flavored foods, candies, etc. and I do not want a cherry on my sundaes.  Actually the only time I like a maraschino cherry is in the Waldorf (apple salad) my mom used to make.  Actually, I missed the chocolate covered cherries...I do like certain ones of those (Esther Price!)

5. Describe yourself with three words using your first, middle, and last initials.
Chatty
Likeable
Sociable

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Love this face!!!!  Stole this from my daughter’s FB page.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

Tuesday 4 - A Few of My Favorite Things

A Few of My Favorite Things

1. Do you have a favorite family recipe?  Would you share it?  Not really.  I loved most anything mom or dad made, but they didn't use recipes often.  It was just in their head. But I can do some of the things mom made because I watched her so often while doing them.

2. Do you have a favorite book? "Pretense" by Lori Wick. How about a movie? "War Room" maybe.   TV program? NCIS

3. What is your favorite snack? Chocolate Cake Favorite sandwich? Grilled Cheese

4. What is your favorite color for  a home exterior...a car...a room ? Home exterior - red brick; Car - grey; Room - soft white

These were harder than I thought they would be.  I have so many favorites, so I'll just say each of these are a favorite, at least at this time.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Bits of This and That

Hello on this beautiful Monday.  Blue skies and beautiful clouds and it's 55 degrees outside.  And to me, this is perfect weather.

Met my 2 sisters this morning and went to pick up some groceries and stuff and then my younger sister picked up lunch from Frisch's Big Boy before she went back home.  I then dropped my other sister off at home and I picked up a couple sandwiches at a local shop for hubby and I and I'm back at church working on this post.  This week seems to be starting out at a racer's pace.  lol

We've been having some trouble with our garage door opener for about a week and a half.  Last night we had to lower the door manually, so hubby called a company we've used before and they will be out this afternoon between 4:00-6:00 to check it out and see if it can be repaired or does it need to be replaced.  Either is fine with me as long as we can get it working soon.  We prefer entering the house through the garage because our Lucy is a runner and will take off if given half a chance.  Coming through the front door could be a problem.

Our Sunday was a really good day.  We had church and hubby preached Sermon #7 on Ruth and Unexpected Grace.  I'll post it below in case anyone has been following along.  After church we picked up some chicken for lunch and watched part 2 of a documentary on an earthquake at Mt. Everest in 2015, while we ate lunch. After that we both took a nice nap and then Lucy and I took a walk around the neighborhood.  It was so nice out but really windy.  After that we went to church for Bible Study and then home for the evening and relaxed and watched some TV and I did a little crocheting.

Not a great picture, but if you look closely
you can see Lucy laying a pile of blankets on
the recliner.

Saturday was our 34th Anniversary so we went out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse and I had an absolutely delicious Dallas Filet, baked potato and house salad.  About the best that I've had in quite awhile. I sure do love this man! Below is our wedding day and below that is a selfie at the restaurant.

On Thursday hubby and I took my sister and her husband to the hospital for a procedure he needed to have done.  The hospital is 30-40 minutes away.  We dropped then off and then we went for some lunch and then came back and sat in the parking lot waiting.  It took a 4-5 hours, but we didn't mind.  We had stuff to read and I took some crochet and we both love to people watch. On the way to lunch we passed the cemetery where my grandparents are buried.  It has been a long time since I've stopped there.  We did this day and here is a picture of their tombstone.   These are my dad's parents.

Sunday's Sermon

That's all for today.  Thanks for visiting.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Pantone's color of the year for 2023 is Viva Magenta. Etsy's color(s) of the year are indigo and honeycomb. Your thoughts? Would we find any of these three shades in your home or wardrobe? Is there a room in your house that needs painting this year? Will you do it yourself or hire out? I like all 3 colors and it may be possible to find them in my wardrobe.  I have some of the indigo blue in my house in small decorations.  I do have some painting that needs to be done and I'm not sure yet if I'll hire it out or do it myself.

2. Something you had to do recently that could be described 'as exciting as watching paint dry'?  Waiting in the car while hubby was seeing a doctor, but actually I don't really mind that.  I bring yarn work and something to read and also my phone and people watching all keep me pretty entertained.

3. Who would you most like to sit beside on a 10-hour flight? Tell us why? Have you ever taken a 10-hour flight?  My husband, however he won't fly.  So I'll pick either one of my girls because they are frequent flyers and I'm not and they are just fun to be with.  No, I have never been on a 10 hour flight and probably never will.

4. What's something you did growing up that would get you into trouble? Talked too much both in school and in church and I haven't changed much as I've grown older. lol

5. According to Google the top searches in 2022 were- Wordle, election results, Betty White, Queen Elizabeth, Bob Saget, Ukraine, Mega Millions, Powerball numbers, Anne Heche, and Jeffrey Dahmer. Hmmm...what does this say about us? How many of these words did you search last year? What would you guess was your most 'googled' word/phrase/question.  I've probably searched all but Mega Millions and Powerball numbers and Jeffrey Dahmer.  Probably my most googled would be "How do I do-------(Whatever it is I need to do)?

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Hope you have a great day.

Happy Valentine's Day - Tuesday 4

Valentine's Day

Hi and welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Happy Valentine's Day!

$24 billion dollars are spent on Valentines Day gifts!  145 million cards are sent out and the average spent on gifts is $197.50 per person.

1. As a kid did you exchange Valentines at school with the other children? Yes, we did.  We'd take a shoe box and decorate it and then everyone would walk around put the cards in everyones' "mailbox."

2. Do you have special traditions for the day or does it pass on without much hoopla?  We do no hoopla.  Our anniversary is the 18th and that's when we do whatever hoopla that may be done.

3 Today is the number one top day for flower and candy gifts.  The only other holidays that approach it are Christmas and Chanukah.  Do you ever receive candy , jewelry or flowers for the day?  No, not typically.  Which is your favorite? Candy.  I like the others too, but candy costs less and it's the thought that counts to me.  But again, we wish each other a Happy Valentines and just spend the day together.

4. Zoos and  Pet rescues will name cockroaches or unpleasant animals after your ex and issue you a certificate.  They will even write your ex's name in cat litter for you.   What do you think of this "tradition"?  Never heard of it and I wouldn't want to do that to anyone.

You can get the questions link up here to participate.  Thanks for visiting and Happy Valentine's Day to you!

Bits of This and That

Good morning and welcome to Bits of This and That.  I really don't have much to talk about for this weekend.  It was just a typical weekend (which is exactly what we like).  We went out to lunch and ran some errands on both Friday and Saturday.  Then came home for the evening and did a bit of housework and laundry. On Friday we went to lunch at the Mellow Mushroom and shared a delicious pizza.  One of the best I've eaten in a long time.  We had some beautiful blue skies and temperatures up in the 40's-50's.  We watched two new Hallmark movies called "Curious Caterer:  Dying for Chocolate" and Curious Caterer:  Grilling Season".   They were both fun to watch and hubby and I both liked them.  I also did some more crocheting which I am enjoying more and more.  On Sunday we had church and hubby preached the 6th Sermon from his series on the book of Ruth. I am so loving this series. I'll post the pre-recording below.

That's about all I have.  Nothing much to talk about but it was just the kind of weekend we love.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a good day.

Saturday 9 - My Funny Valentine

Saturday 9: My Funny Valentine (1953)

Link up here.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Frank sings that his lover is his favorite work of art. Tell us about a piece of artwork you can see from where you're sitting now. (Yes, that crayon drawing by your 5-year-old nephew counts.)  This is a drawing my sister did many years ago.  It's one of my favorites.

I have several other paintings of hers and I also have some of my daughter's paintings, but this was the closest to me when I first read this question.

2) He asks her to not change her hair. When will you next find yourself in the stylist's chair? Hopefully in the next week or two as I really need a trim.

3) Sinatra is often photographed in hats because he began losing his hair while in his 30s. He wore "a rug" for TV, concert and film appearances but really didn't like it, considering the toupee merely part of his work attire. What do you wear when you wish to appear professional? Dress pants and some type of nice top.

4) Sinatra is best known for his singing and won an Oscar for his acting. But not many people know he liked to paint until the widow sold his paintings at auction. Do you have a secret talent? Nothing secret.

5) As a kid, he was a paperboy in his hometown of Hoboken, NJ.  Tell us about one of your early jobs. My first job was in a gift shop at the amusement park, Kings Island.

This is the last Saturday  9 before Valentine's Day and so this morning we shall focus on the upcoming holiday.

6) The holiday is also known as The Feast of St. Valentine. Do you have a special meal planned for Tuesday? Nope.

7) The phrase "wear your heart on your sleeve" began in medieval times. On Valentine's Day, men would celebrate the holiday by displaying their lady love's name on their sleeves. If you were going to adopt this custom, whose name would you wear? Tracy, my husband.

8) Women buy and send more Valentines than men do. Who received the last greeting card you sent? It would have been all the ones I sent Christmas cards to.

9) Sweethearts, those candy hearts with sayings like "BE MINE" stamped on them, began as throat lozenges. Are you fan of these little candies? Not to eat.  But I think they are fun to read and give.  In fact, I was looking for them in the store yesterday as I was thinking of giving a small box to each person at church tomorrow.  Couldn't find them.  May have to look somewhere else today.

Well that's it for today.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a good day.

Friday Photos

Here are a couple of photos of the sky that I've taken in the last 2 weeks.  I love sunrises and sunsets and beautiful clouds.  Here are a few random shots I've taken with my phone when out walking with the dog.  I'm also linking up with SkyWatch Friday.

And last but not least is the dog, Lucy.  I know I already posted this picture,
but it's because of her mostly that I get out to take the other photos.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day!

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for all Christ has done for me.  He is always good, all the time.  He is always faithful, even if I'm not.

I've been talking with my sister a lot this week and we struggle with some of the same things in our faith.  It is so helpful to be able to talk with someone who truly understands.  The older we get, the more I appreciate her.

We had our second crochet get-to-gather yesterday.  So much fun.  I'm enjoying the crochet, but I'm really enjoying getting to know these ladies.  They are so sweet and they love the Lord and we have just been having so much fun.  I needed some friends closer to my age.  I guess we all can use more friends.

Today started out rather gray and rainy, but then the rain stopped and the skies turned blue with big white clouds and it warmed up and is beautiful!

I'm thankful for spaghetti too.  That's what I'm fixing right now in the middle of this post, for our dinner.  Hope you all have had a good day.  You can link up here if you'd like to.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click above to link up.

1. Something you've done recently that might be considered a labor of love? I'm currently making a pair of boot toppers for a friend upon her request.

2. What's one thing you love about being the age you are now? Well, I'm really happy about being alive at the age I am right now.  lol

Yesterday was my baby brother's birthday and he is now
60!!!  For goodness sake, he's 60 and he's the baby!  I just cannot get over that. We're so old!

3. What do you value more: careful planning or the freedom to be spontaneous? Elaborate. I like having a general idea of what we're doing, but I like the freedom to change my mind and go a different way and do a different thing.  We do that quite often.

4. A home cooked meal or a fancy restaurant? I prefer not cooking so a restaurant, but not fancy. pink or red? Red watch the sunrise or watch the sunset? both please wine and cheese or champagne and chocolate? I'll take the cheese and chocolate...you can have the wine and champagne

5. What's your definition of romance? Are you a 'romantic'? No, I'm really not a romantic.  But just being with my husband doing anything together is what makes me happiest.

6. Insert your own random thought here. I love this little girl. p She brings lots of comfort and love, but also plenty of aggravation.  lol  Here she's trying to make me feel guilty for leaving her for the day. And it worked.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Tuesday 4 - The Internet Age

 The Internet Age

From Annie - Welcome weather weary friends to another episode of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we challenge you to answer 4 questions on different subjects each week. Link Here,

Maybe we could talk about the internet this week?

It's all I could come up with as my mind is on hiatus right now.

1. When did the  home internet age enter your life? How much impact has it had?  I think we got our first at home computer with dial-up internet access around 1994 or so.  I had been working with computers for a short time already at work.  Hubby was the one that did all the reading and learning about how to get on to get internet (Remember AOL and dial-up internet access?)  I think it's had a lot of impact on our lives, hopefully mostly for the good.

2. How powerful an influence is your phone?  For instance, do you feel guilty not answering when you are busy? Do you text back immediately? Does the phone own you? Do you friends feel they should be able to monopolize your time by demanding to know where you were when you didn't answer?  Is it intrusive or welcome? I usually try to answer or if I'm busy, I will shoot them a text and tell them I'll call back a little later.  I mostly only get calls from my girls and my sister.  Most anyone else just sends a text.

3. What places do you frequent on the net and by phone or PC etc.?  (pc.. personal computer , laptop, etc.) My blog, FB, Instagram, Amazon and YouTube.

4.   Wikipedia is editable and biased  because anyone can edit the articles. Algorithms also determine what you can and cannot find on the interest.     So, how much stock do you place in it's information? I know to take most things with a grain of salt.

That's it for today.  These were fun questions Annie...Looking forward to see what others answered.

Bits of This and That

Good Morning

Not much news from the weekend.  It was a good weekend, but nothing exciting and that's just fine with me.  We went to lunch with hubby's mom on Friday.  On Saturday we went out for lunch and I ran into the grocery to pick up a few things. On Sunday we had 2 good services and in between hubby and I took a really good nap,  So see, it was not exciting, but it was good.

I'll post below Sermon #5 from the series on Ruth.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Saturday 9 - Beautiful

Saturday 9: Beautiful (2005)

Unfamiliar with this week's
tune? Hear it here.

Link up here.

1) In this song, Moby sings about a self-involved couple who believes others are fascinated by their glamorous lives. Tell us about the most interesting couple you know. If you take the time to learn people, almost everyone is interesting in some way or another.

2) This song was inspired by the proliferation of reality shows, where celebrities share their lives on camera. Does the idea of becoming rich and famous in exchange for letting a film crew into your home appeal to you? No, not at all.

3) "Beautiful" appears in the soundtrack of the movie The Devil Wears Prada, starring Meryl Streep. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance, which is no surprise because she has more Oscar nominations than any other actor or actress. Do you have a favorite Meryl Streep movie? The first one I ever saw, Kramer vs Kramer.

4) Moby has openly discussed how Christ has influenced his life and art. Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual? If yes, how do your beliefs impact your daily life? I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ and He impacts everything in my life.

5) His real name is Richard Melville Hall. His parents began calling him "Moby" almost immediately because they felt "Richard Melville Hall" sounded too big for a baby. When did you most recently hold a baby?  It would probably be my great-nephew and it's been about a year.

6) He began shaving his head when he was in his 30s. It was at the request of a girlfriend, who said she liked bald men. Would you change your appearance to please your lover?  If he asked I probably would.  But that is a safe answer, because he would never ask me to change my looks.

7) Moby's house was once owned by Marlon Brando and was later rented to The Beatles. What do you know about the previous residents of your home? There were no previous residents.

8) In 2005, when "Beautiful" was released, actress Ruth Warrick died. She began her career in radio, made her film debut in Citizen Kane, and she was best known as matriarch Phoebe Tyler on All My Children, a role she played for 35 years. What's the longest you stayed at the same job? 45 years

9) Random question: Without looking, do you know how much money is in your checking account right now? Approximately.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Thankful Thursday

 Good Morning:

I'm linking up with Jennifer and Rebecca this morning to give thanks to God for whatever pops into my mind.  He is so worthy of our praise and I never want to fail to give Him thanks.

**Yesterday, I attended a new Crochet Group that is just starting up.  My sister invited me.  Right now there are just 4 of us who met at one of the lady's home.  She is just beginning to learn to crochet and wanted to do it with others that could help her along the way.  The 3 others (including my sister) all go to the same church.  I was pleased they let me tag along too.  I have met the lady who is hosting once before and really like her.  The other lady I've acquainted with, but don't know her super well.  I'm looking forward to getting to know them all well as I could use some friends.  Since leaving work, I don't have lots of opportunities to be around others in a social setting.  We just sat in her family room (on the most comfy sofas) and crocheted and talked.  This also gives me the incentive to crochet more.  Below is the picture of what I'm starting with and that new pattern I'm learning.  I've already picked out the yarn from my stash for the next project I do. lol  Thank you God for letting me meet with these ladies.

**Also yesterday, the new Bible Study we'll be doing starting next month came in the mail.  It's the second one we've done that was written by Jennifer Rothschild and it's on the book of Amos.  I don't know a lot about Amos and I'm looking forward to finding out more.

**Sunday afternoon I got to meet with some former co-workers for a late lunch.  It was so fun to see these people and catch up with all the goings on in each other's lives.  Some had kids that recently got married and of course, you know we were all showing off our grandkids.  lol

**I'm thankful for the Word of God and the 4 Gospels are what I am focusing on this year.  If you are interested, you can look back at a couple of previous posts where I talk about how this is working.  I'm also thankful for the sermon series my husband is doing on the book of Ruth.  I have always loved this book and I feel like I'm learning so many new things.  If this is something you might be interested in, you can check out my Bits of This and That posts where I have attached the YouTube Videos for these sermons.

**I'm also thankful for the beautiful blue skies this morning.  I just stepped outside the front door the church to snap a picture or two.

Sometimes I feel as though I post the same things over and over, but these are the things that pop into my mind and I'm thankful for them over and over.  I'm also thankful for my family, church family, and all the friends I've met here through blogging.

It's time for me to get to my morning Bible reading now.  So I'll say goodbye and "see you" soon.  Thanks for visiting.

Currently - February 2023 and Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Today it's time for the February Currently Post.  You can link up with Jennifer here, as she is the hostess.  This months topics are Things we are Currently Loving, Feeling, Posting, Receiving, and Seeing.

Currently I am:

Loving - Reading through the Gospel's with Annie F, Downs.  Click below if you'd like to check it out and participate.  All 4 gospels will be read each month and each month will be in a different version.  January was NIV84 and February will be the ESV.

Feeling - I'm feeling good and happy and I'm ready for spring,  lol

Posting - Currently and Wednesday Hodgepodge (which has been on hiatus during January).  I'm so glad it's back.  Thanks Joyce!

Receiving - The opportunity to be part of a crocheting group starting today,

Seeing - Some beautiful days and skies, and I've been seeing a few movies this month.  It's been nice.

1. Tell us anything you want about your January. It's been a good month and there are 19 posts you can read here that tells about it.

2. Lake Superior State University posts a list each year of words they think should be banished from the Queen's English for misuse, overuse, and/or general uselessness. The 2023 list includes GOAT, inflection point, quiet quitting, gaslighting, moving forward, amazing, Does that make sense?, irregardless, absolutely, and it is what it is. Which of these words/phrases do you use regularly? I have a tendency to use "it is what it is", amazing and absolutely. Which of these words would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why?  irregardless (is this even a real word?)  Is there a word/phrase not on the list you'd like to add? Not really.

3. February 2nd is Groundhog Day. What's something that feels repeated in your life right now? Cooking and cleaning up the kitchen.  It seems that I am always emptying or filling the dishwasher right now.

4. What's a food you love that's named after a place? Philly Steak and Cheese.

5. What's the best season of the year to visit your city or your part of the country?  Fall Tell us why. Ohio does fall really well with all the pumpkin patches and apple orchards, etc.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I love this boy!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.
