If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

1. You’re in a horror movie. Are you the final person left, the first to die, the comic relief, the skeptic, the smart one, or the killer?
Probably the comic relief.

2. While watching scary movies, are you the person who yells at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time or the person who falls asleep?
I don't like scary movies but whenever I watch them, I've mostly got my face hidden behind a pillow.  Always did that as a kid!  lol

3. If you were dared to spend the night in a “haunted house”, would you do it?
No, I don't really believe that places are haunted, but see #2.  If I can't stand to watch it on TV then I really don't think I could take the tension of being in a scary place.  lol  The only "haunted house" I like is the one at Disney World.

4. Favorite horror monster or villain?
Again, I don't like scary stuff, but if I had to choose it would probably be Bette Midler's witch character on Hocus Pocus.

5. Favorite horror or Halloween-themed song?
Michael Jackson’s Thriller

6. Tell us something random about your week.
Only 3 more days to work and then I'm on vacation for 3 weeks.

The Great Pumpkin Run

I did it!!  I completed the 5K Great Pumpkin Run.  It was not pretty, but I finished it and in spite of the horrible, awful, terrible time, I'm still proud of myself.  Because when I hit the proverbial wall in the 2nd mile, I wasn't sure I could complete it, but with the encouragement of my cousin, I made it.  She stayed by me the whole time, even though she normally runs these things.  She was awesome and I'm so thankful she's my family.  Her sister was awesome too and waited for us at the end until I came dragging in.  lol

You know, that's how we should be in our Christian walk.  We should come up along those who are struggling on the road and help them out and encourage them to keep on walking.  If we do that, we'll all make it across that finish line.  It may not be pretty getting there, but we'll make it together and with Jesus.  I've posted a few pictures from that day.

My two beautiful cousins!

Selfies as we were lining up

Selfie fun before the race

It's getting closer to time

Here we are finally at the starting line.

Because of all the rain Friday night and Saturday morning, I was covered in mud when it was all over.  Most everyone was!

My medal!

Hubby rewarded me later with a wonderful hot chocolate from Starbucks.  I think I finally got warm after drinking this.
So that was my adventure for the weekend.  How was your weekend?

Thankful Thursday

Things I am thankful for:

  1.  Beautiful Fall colors and decorations all over the place.

Loving all the fall decorations and this pumpkin is ours.

  2.  The opportunity to see hot air balloons.  There were 5 of them in the sky at the same time on Sunday afternoon.  The pictures below show the 2 that were closest to us.

Hot air balloons we saw from our yard on Sunday afternoon

3.  God's beautiful creation.  Love when he paints with such beautiful and brilliant colors.

Beautiful sunrise Monday Morning

  4.  A quiet serene morning behind our Doctor's Office.  My hubby had an appointment and I waited in the car.  After a bit of looking at this pond from a distance, I had to get out and take a closer look and taken some pictures.  I love the reflections in the water.  Oh and hubby had an excellent report from the Doctor.  Thank you Jesus.

Another beautiful sunrise last Wednesday morning

  5.  Thankful for all of God's beautiful creatures.  This deer was just standing across the pond.  It was dark enough still that I couldn't see him through the camera lens, but I think I still got a couple pretty good pictures.  Of course, I had to lighten it up so we could see him/her.

This deer was on the far side of the pond in the above picture

So what are you thankful for today?

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

On this day theme...

1. On this day in 1908, Billy Murray hits the charts with his “Take Me Out to The Ball Game”. Did you watch the MLB playoffs, and are you watching the World Series?
No, I didn't watch the playoffs and no, I'm not watching the World Series. I might if the Cincinnati Reds were in it, but otherwise, no.

2. On this day in 1962, “The Manchurian Candidate”, directed by John Frankenheimer, starring Frank Sinatra and Laurence Harvey, was released. What is your favorite Frank Sinatra song?
"I Get a Kick Out of You" is a good one.

3. On this day in 1968, Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithful were busted for pot and released on £50 bail. Has your state approved the sale of medical marijuana? In a nutshell, what are your thoughts on the subject?
It has been approved in my state, however, the process and rules are all still being set up. My thoughts are rather mixed and I'll leave it at that.

4. On this day in 1979, the Guinness Book of Records presented Paul McCartney with a rhodium disc as the all-time best-selling singer-songwriter. What is your favorite song by Paul McCartney?
I've never been a Paul McCartney or Beetles fan, but I do like the song "Live and Let Die" from the James Bond movie of the same name.

5. On this day in 2017, Albert Einstein’s “Theory of Happiness” written on a note as a tip for a bellboy in 1922, sold for $1.6 million. His Theory of Happiness is: “A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.” Was Einstein right?
I agree. And the older I get, the more content I am with what I have.

6. Tell us something random about your week so far…
Nothing too random has occurred yet, but I'm doing a 5K this weekend and that's rather random for me. lol

Definitely having some font problems today. lol  I Think I may have it fixed now.  Let's see!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

Thankful Thursday and Friday Foto Friends

I know I haven't been around much lately.  Things have been crazy at work.  We've had 4 people leave in the last couple of months and while they are doing everything they can to hire replacements, it's taking time.  So, in the meantime, I'm being drawn back in to help do the job I haven't done in almost 20 years.  Fun times.  But I'm starting to catch on and I guess it's good for me to stretch my mind and not be so set in my ways.  Anyway, hopefully I'll be back in the blogging world a little more.

So yesterday, was Thankful Thursday and I don't want to keep missing this.  I think it's so important to be intentionally thankful and I'm so thankful that Rebecca Jo keeps this link-up going for us.  Click on her name if you'd like to link up too.

This morning on the way to work I looked up when pulling out of the drive and saw the sky and it was absolutely so beautiful.  I stopped at the end of the drive and took these two pictures.

And it seemed the longer I drove the more beautiful it got.  Let me tell you God and I had a wonderful worship service together.  I love when God shows so much beauty in his creation and I couldn't help but praise Him.  God you are so awesome!!

There are so many other things I'm thankful for, but I need to get back to work, lunch break is almost over.  I just wanted so much to get back into the habit of doing this post.  And yes, I know I'm a day late, however, I don't think it's ever too late to praise the Lord.  I'm also linking up with Friday Foto Friends and I hope to be back more often there too.  Thank you Debbie for hosting and you can click on her name to link up there.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you all have a great weekend.
