If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3:16
Thought I'd share some photographs I've taken recently. Hope you enjoy.
This was a fun puzzle to work
This was a favorite one
Hubby and I watched our favorite Christmas movie
Beautiful sunset on Sunday evening on our way to church. I was driving so I stopped in the middle of the road to be able to take this. Thankfully no one was behind us
Our church lit up for our Christmas Candlelight Carol Sing
Some of our Christmas decorations this year
Love our little fiberoptic tree
Usually Lucy won't look at me for a picture, but she let me take several of her this night.
My mother-in-law makes the best pasta salad
My daughter took this picture. Colton got a leopard gecko for Christmas, so we bought him this t-shirt.
A group of us cousins got together today for lunch at Bob Evans. We had so much fun. I realized we are getting so old. We range in age from 50 something to 85. That was a little shocking! No matter the age I love these people and we always have a good time together.
I just finished this puzzle tonight before I started writing this post.
Friday morning we slept in a little and then went outside and sat on the front porch for awhile. It was so beautiful out and we both enjoyed being outside and so did Lucy.
Looks like I need to clean the porch rails. I had a hummingbird feed hanging over this spot and it has left a mess. lol
After that we picked up hubby's mom and we went to Olive Garden for lunch. Good food and good conversation...just what I like.
That evening we watched a movie and enjoyed just relaxing at home.
Saturday morning we again spent time on the front porch. I think we may be doing a lot of that this fall if the weather stays decent. We had Mexican food for lunch and went to the grocery and then home for the day. Again we watched a movie and read, etc.
Sunday we had Sunday School, Church and Bible Study in the evening. All were good. After evening service we met up with 2 other couples and had dinner at Frisch's and again good food and conversation...my favorites.
Below is the pre-recorded copy of Sunday morning's Sermon.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day. If you'd like, share something in the comments about your weekend.
Hello. I'm running rather behind today. I think I'm just a little worn out from the whirlwind that the weekend was. But it was wonderful and worth being tired today.
It started on Thursday when I flew out of Cincinnati into Houston, Texas. My daughter and her husband arrived there from Tampa about 30 minutes before me. We left from there to pick up the rental car. There were a few glitches in that process but it all worked out in the end and we had a really nice ride for the weekend. And even better than that, I didn't have to drive any at all. I just sat in the back relaxed and visiting and didn't have to worry about a thing. I could get used to that really quickly. lol
We had a super nice Airbnb Rental House. You could see the ocean from the north side of our deck. Every morning I went out here and sat for a short time. As you can see it's straight in the path of the sun and it could get really hot really quickly, but early as I went it wasn't bad and I totally enjoyed it.
If you look really hard you can see the ocean in this picture. lol
The Rehearsal and Dinner were Friday evening and it was so nice to actually see the wedding venue. It really was beautiful and totally fit my daughter's style. I think she was in 7th heaven. Below are some pictures of the rehearsal.
Mama and daughters on the "stage" where the wedding vows were spoken,
This picture was in the same place but shows the beautiful beach behind it.
It was so hot and my hair wouldn't do a thing, so I just pulled it back with combs and went with it,
Kelli and Rafael...let me tell you these 2 treated me like a queen the whole weekend.
My new son-in-law and I having a good talk. I really love this guy and they are so good together.
Kelli and Rafael and her best friend Angela and her husband, Steve.
Kerri and her new mother-in-law, Donna
Sisters
Hubby could not make the trip so Kelli's hubby walked her down the aisle.
My grandson Colton
Colton and his cousin practicing.
Colton and one of the flower girls. So cute. He was playing shy quite often over the weekend.
Beautiful bride and beautiful dress.
So these are about the only pictures I took that came out okay. I can't wait to see the photographer's photos. Suffice it to say, it was a beautiful wedding and the bride and groom are now married happily ever after.
Hello Friends. It's time for me to be intentionally thankful again. Being thankful and remembering, acknowledging, and sharing what God has done and is doing in my life is very important for me. I also hope that it will encourage others. Here is a short list of things that come to mind this morning that I am thankful for:
Exercise - Continuing in to this 2nd week of exercising 5 times a week for 30 minutes. I think already I am feeling better at the end of 30 minutes. I've been praying some, listening to some of my daily scriptures and even singing a little bit (very quietly) while out walking around my neighborhood. Mostly, I take Lucy with me and we get some time together and plus it wears her out and she's pretty quiet for a while after because she's sleeping.
Crochet Circle - Still enjoy meeting with these ladies to crochet together and have lots of good conversation. I'm still working on the baby blanket. It's slow but it's coming along.
The Gospels - I'm still enjoying Reading the Gospels along with Annie F. Downs each day.
Prayer - I've been working on a slide-show to display on the screens at the front of the church. On the first Tuesday in July, hubby (the pastor) is starting a new Prayer Open House Program. He will be opening the church sanctuary for 2 hours on Tuesday mornings and anyone that would like to come and pray, may come. They can come for 2 hours, or 5 minutes and pray, that's all. The slide shows have some scriptures and will help us get our focus in the right place. Then in August he will be having a 31 Days of Prayer for us as a church. He will give prompts for each day so we can pray separately but as a group focused on the things the church needs to pray for. I'm so excited for these prayer times and to see what God will do in my life and the life of each one in our church.
Dentist Appointment - This morning and it's over and I'm so glad. lol
Doctor's Appointments - I think they are all done for this go around and all is good...working on a couple numbers from the lab work, thus the walking I talked about earlier. lol
New Glasses - I got my new glasses on Tuesday and I'm still adjusting some to the new stronger prescription. But their doing better.
Haircut - Finally went and got a good trim.
That's it for now...it's no longer morning, but better late than never. Link up with with Jennifer at Overflowing with Thankfulness, if you'd like to. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.
Hubby and I went out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse on Friday. Our oldest gave me a gift card for there and we had a wonderful lunch made all the more wonderful because she got it for us. I then ran a couple of errands and we were home for the rest of the day. On Saturday we went out for maybe an hour or so and then we spent the rest of the day at home.
I did quite a bit of reading this weekend. I finished a book Friday, started another and finished it on Saturday and I'm over halfway through another and hope to finish it today. These 3 books are the last 3 in the Kennedy Stern series by Alana Terry. I have enjoyed reading them and may check into reading another one of her series soon,
Sunday, we had a great morning service (I'll post the pre-recorded sermon below) and then we picked up some lunch and headed home. Then later in the afternoon I headed over to my sister's and the 3 of us went to our nephew's wedding. It was outside in a beautiful area and the weather was gorgeous. However, out in the sun it was pretty hot. However the reception was under cover and wasn't terribly hot. It was a beautiful wedding and my nephew and his new wife looked so very happy. My brother and sister-in-law looked happy too. It is so good to see them, as they are so very busy and it's hard to get together sometimes. Here are a couple of photos I took during the reception.
Here's Sunday's sermon which was #5 in the Big Promises for Big Problems series. This one is God's Answer to Resentment.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great week.
Hubby and I had a nice weekend. On Saturday we went out for a quick lunch and then I took him back home and I headed out to meet with my sister, mother-in-law, and a cousin. We went to the movies and saw Chonda Pierce's new movie called Roll With It. All four of us loved it. There was lots of laughter and man, that girl can sing! Here's a trailer of it.
Sunday we had a great service and then went and spent the afternoon with hubby's mom and his brother, sister-in-law and nephew. I never even thought to take a picture. After that we enjoyed the evening at home. Below, I've posted hubby's pre-recorded sermon. It's the 4th in his current series. So just in case any of you have been listening in, I've posted it.
Yesterday, I went and had my annual mammogram and physical exam with the Nurse Practioner at my surgeon's office. All appears well! Thank you Jesus! And this is my friendly public service announcement. Don't forget your annual mammogram. You don't want to have to go through what I had to in 2016.
Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4. We enjoy having you here and love reading your responses on your own blogs. I sure hope you enjoy the questions and seeing what others have to say.
Would you like to talk about books?
1. If you had to flee this life and there was a posibility to actually live in a place based on a story or book or movie, which would you choose and why? Not to be boring, but I really can't think of a time that I would rather live in. I think the last 60 years have brought so many major inventions and conveniences to our world, I can't imagine wanting to live without all that. While there have been bad things also, there have always been bad things. So I think I'll just stay right here. Now, it you're talking our future, I can't wait to see heaven!
2. What kind of story line do you just not like either in books or movies.I do not like horror stories or anything dealing with demons or the occult.
3 How many of the Great Classics have you read and/or popular book series? I really don't have any idea. I've read Little Women, several times and the Little House Books. I've read several of C S Lewis' books and most of the Mitford Series and also most of Karen Kingsbury's books.
4. There are reading playlists available for various genres of literature. Do you play any music while reading? No, typically I do not listen to music when reading.
Thanks Annie for the Tuesday4 questions. If anyone else would like to join in, clickhere.
I hope all of you are doing well. I wasn't feeling very good when I woke this morning, but I'm feeling much better now and I'm ready to get some things accomplished on this fine day.
It's really pretty out right now with sunshine and blue skies and it's currently 68 degrees here. However, that's supposed to change around 1:00 and it looks like we may be getting some more rain and thunder and lightening. It seems we have been having lots of rain lately; but, I must say, the grass is really green and beautiful.
When we were leaving the house this morning, hubby saw a bird peeking out from our bird house. As soon as I tried to get a picture it flew away. It came back and then flew away again and still no picture. Hopefully I'll get it soon. Also I put out our hummingbird feeders and so far I've seen 2 hummingbirds. But alas, no picture of them either. Man, I love watching those things!
On Friday, I met 2 of my cousins at a church in Middletown for a concert of Appalachian Blue Grass Music. It was fun and we enjoyed it. After that we went to lunch at Cracker Barrel and it was just so nice to be together and talk about everything under the sun.
Saturday night around 9:50 one of the Starlink Satellites was supposed to pass over in our area. The sky was fairly clear, but I never did see it. They are supposed to pass by a couple more times this week but they won't be as bright. But if the skies are halfway clear, I'll probably be out there looking. I have seen one before, but I wasn't prepared and didn't have my camera with me. They are really cool to see. It's like a string of lights in the sky and they only stay in sight for a very short time.
Sunday was nice. We had 2 really good services. Sunday morning hubby preached on God's Answer to Temptation. Make sure your exit signs are still lit. 1Corinthians 10:13 says "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Below is the pre-recorded sermon.
Well, that's about it for today. I hope you all have a really good day.
I've been on a bit of a break from blogging the last couple of weeks. All is fine, but I just needed a break. I have been reading several blog posts and even a comment here or there. Still trying to decide what I want to do with my blog.
Latest photo of my grandson that I stole off his other grandma's FB page. He was staying with her this past weekend.
Sure do love this young man,
Hubby and I had a nice weekend. Saturday, we went to Walmart to pick up some needed items and then we picked up and on-line order at City Barbecue to take home for lunch. We both got the chicken and we both got collard greens and then I got corn pudding and I can't remember what his other side item was. It was all very delicious. After that we did some things around the house and then watched a Hallmark Mystery Movie. We watched the 2nd movie in the Crossword Series which was pretty good. After that we watched a couple of our shows we are binging and then tried to go to sleep early. I don't think that worked too well for either of us. lol
On Sunday, of course, we went to church both morning and evening and took a nice nap in the afternoon. Again we watched a couple of shows after church and I finished reading the 4th book in the Kennedy Stern series by Alana Terry. After that I checked out book 5 and started that in the middle of the night as again, I couldn't sleep very well. I also read a little of Beth Moore's Memoir, All My Knotted Up Life.
Book 4 I finished
Book 5 I started
A couple chapters in.
Below is the video of the pre-recorded Sunday morning message, which is the 2nd in the series Big Promises for Big Problems...God's Answer to Fear.
