If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3:16
Thirty six years ago today, (February 18, 1989) Hubby and I were married. Best thing I've ever done marrying this man! Thank you Lord, for bringing us together and giving us all these years together. I pray we will have many more to be together.
Today is the time for the February edition of Currently where we are talking about what we're currently loving, looking forward to, doing to be romantic, changing, and celebrating. I hope you make plans to join us! Jennifer is our host and you can link up here.
Loving - I'm loving crocheting...sometimes I get a little tired of crocheting, but right now it's one of my favorite activities while watching TV in the evening with hubby, Here are a couple of pictures of what I'm currently crocheting. I started this a long time ago and have set it aside several times to work on other projects. I have another project in mind, but decided to put that off for at least a few more days as I'm enjoying making this one grow.
Looking Forward To - I'm looking forward to our upcoming 35th Anniversary on February 18th. I love my man and I'm so very thankful for our years together.
Doing to Be Romantic - I think one of the most romantic things I can do for my hubby, is to be kind to him. I think most everyone responds well when kindness is given. I know kindness, when shown to me, makes me very happy. And kindness and happiness with my hubby can be very romantic.
Changing - Maybe my attitude...I'm working on being less critical of others and accepting them as they are. I'm also trying to be less critical of myself and remember that God made me the way that I am and He loves me, so I should love myself. Not that that gives me free license to quit trying to improve myself in areas that need it.
Celebrating - Retirement for a former co-worker this past week and our upcoming anniversary as I mentioned above.
Thanks for visiting. There is a link up above if you'd like to participate. It's the first Wednesday of every month.
**Another anniversary - 34 years together with my husband. I feel God blessed me so much by giving me this man. I think hubby would say the same about me. Thank you God for letting us meet each other and love each other. Again, what a blessing.
**Scripture - I am enjoying reading the 4 Gospels along with Annie F, Downs. In January we read from the NIV version and this month we are reading from the ESV version. I'm noticing things that I don't remember seeing before. I just want to know more about Jesus and where better to learn than in the Gospels.
**Ruth Series of Unexpected Grace in our Sunday morning sermons at Church. Ruth is such a short book, but it is stuffed full of good stuff.
**Reading - I have read about 11 books so far this year and I'm currently reading another good one and I have several in the wings waiting.
**Crocheting - I'm really liking crocheting again and I am so thankful for the ladies that started a group and invited me too. First of all, I'm loving getting to know them. I'm so thankful for new friends.
**Journaling/Coloring Bible - I am still enjoying this so much. This is the one I'm currently working on. I am so thankful for the grace of Jesus and I can't imagine surviving in this world without His grace.
**New Garage Door Opener - Our old opener was having problems. It only worked intermittently. Hubby called a company we have used once before. The guy came out Monday and several options were give and hubby decided we'd be better to get a new one. We've had this one for a long time and trying to fix it would have cost almost as much as just putting in a new one. You don't realize how much you use something until it isn't working any more. So thankful to have it working again and it's much quieter too.
**Revival - I'm so thankful for the revival at Asbury and the outpouring of the Spirit. It's so encouraging and I hope lives will be changed for everyone there and then that they will testify and share to all they know and that the Spirit will change many more lives through them.
That is all for today and I hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting!
Hello on this beautiful Monday. Blue skies and beautiful clouds and it's 55 degrees outside. And to me, this is perfect weather.
Met my 2 sisters this morning and went to pick up some groceries and stuff and then my younger sister picked up lunch from Frisch's Big Boy before she went back home. I then dropped my other sister off at home and I picked up a couple sandwiches at a local shop for hubby and I and I'm back at church working on this post. This week seems to be starting out at a racer's pace. lol
We've been having some trouble with our garage door opener for about a week and a half. Last night we had to lower the door manually, so hubby called a company we've used before and they will be out this afternoon between 4:00-6:00 to check it out and see if it can be repaired or does it need to be replaced. Either is fine with me as long as we can get it working soon. We prefer entering the house through the garage because our Lucy is a runner and will take off if given half a chance. Coming through the front door could be a problem.
Our Sunday was a really good day. We had church and hubby preached Sermon #7 on Ruth and Unexpected Grace. I'll post it below in case anyone has been following along. After church we picked up some chicken for lunch and watched part 2 of a documentary on an earthquake at Mt. Everest in 2015, while we ate lunch. After that we both took a nice nap and then Lucy and I took a walk around the neighborhood. It was so nice out but really windy. After that we went to church for Bible Study and then home for the evening and relaxed and watched some TV and I did a little crocheting.
Not a great picture, but if you look closely you can see Lucy laying a pile of blankets on the recliner.
Saturday was our 34th Anniversary so we went out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse and I had an absolutely delicious Dallas Filet, baked potato and house salad. About the best that I've had in quite awhile. I sure do love this man! Below is our wedding day and below that is a selfie at the restaurant.
On Thursday hubby and I took my sister and her husband to the hospital for a procedure he needed to have done. The hospital is 30-40 minutes away. We dropped then off and then we went for some lunch and then came back and sat in the parking lot waiting. It took a 4-5 hours, but we didn't mind. We had stuff to read and I took some crochet and we both love to people watch. On the way to lunch we passed the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. It has been a long time since I've stopped there. We did this day and here is a picture of their tombstone. These are my dad's parents.
1 - Monday. I waited too late to start this month and I have no idea what I did on the first 3 days. lol
2 - Tuesday. The problems with getting older.
3 - Wednesday. I do know I made some hats during this time on my knitting machine and also worked each day.
4 - Thursday. Ordered a pizza and picked it up and went to hubby's mom's house for a few hours to visit and had a good time talking as always.
5 - Friday. After work we had a quiet evening at home catching up on some shows from earlier in the week.
6 - Saturday. Visited with our sister and actually got to take her out to a store to shop and she said it's been almost a year since she has been in a store.
7 - Sunday. Church and a nap and then church again and home to watch a little TV and do some knitting.
8 - Monday. We got Lucy groomed after work and we grabbed some McD's for dinner and did some grocery shopping while she was being groomed.
9 - Tuesday. Woke up to at least 8 inches of snow so we got ready for work and then realized how deep it really was so we had to shovel out the driveway to be able to actually go to work and our wonderful neighbor man came out and helped us do it.
10 - Wednesday. Enjoyed an evening at home after work having spaghetti for supper and watching some TV.
11 - Thursday. Another evening at home having chicken sandwiches for dinner and making a new hat.
12 - Friday. Chili Cheese Hotdogs for dinner and more knitting and watching some TV and some cleaning at home.
13 - Saturday. Hubby and I slept in a little and then went out and ran some errands and I bought some more yarn (again! lol).
14 - Sunday. Went to church and then picked up some Chinese for lunch and went home and spent the rest of the evening there.
15 - Monday. President's Day and we spent the day at home doing some organizing, lots of laundry and some knitting and watching TV in the evening, plus hubby made homemade chili for dinner (Yum!).
16 - Tuesday. The wonderful neighbor man ran his tractor and blade on our drive so we were able to get out early to make it to work on time (so much snow this week!)
17 - Wednesday.
18 - Thursday. Our 32nd Anniversary and we didn't do anything special but go to work and then home as the weather was not very nice.
19 - Friday. After all the grey skies and piles of snow, it was so nice to have beautiful skies today.
20 - Saturday. Ran our usual errands and met my sister and her husband for lunch at Red Robin.
21 - Sunday. We had church both morning and evening services and in the afternoon I watched a Netflix movie and knitted on a hat.
22 - Monday. Started another week of work.
23 - Tuesday. Finished another hat after work while watching some TV with hubby and doing some laundry,
24 - Wednesday. Hubby did a live Bible Study on the life of Dr. Luke - #2 in his new series.
25 - Thursday. Had and appointment with a seamstress after work to get the pants for my outfit for the wedding hemmed and also hubby's jacket needed taking in.
26 - Friday. Work, and got my first Covid Shot (they had extra at the end of the day and I was on a list and got a call) and then out with hubby's mom (just picked up a pizza and took it to her house) as we haven't been with her in 2 weeks.
27 - Saturday. Did absolutely nothing as I was having some minor symptoms from the shot such as headache, low-grade fever and nausea.
28 - Sunday. Feeling mostly back to normal so we went to church and brought home some lunch.
**Thirty-two years ago today, Tracy and I were married. I can hardly believe that it’s been that long. He is my soul mate and my best friend. He is the love of my life and the head of our home. He is my encourager and my biggest fan. I can’t imagine traveling this journey without him. He is a wonderful father and grandpa. He is also my pastor. He follows after Jesus and helps me as I follow Jesus too. I am so thankful for these years and hope and pray we will have many more.
**Five years ago today I had my first chemo treatment for Stage 3 breast cancer. I underwent about 5-6 months of chemo and then had a lumpectomy and found that that was not enough and about 3 weeks later I had a complete mastectomy with the removal of many lymph nodes. After healing from that I then underwent about 30 radiation treatments. At that point (early December 2016) they felt they had removed all the cancer. So for the past 5 years now I go twice annually to see my oncologist and I see the surgeon once a year when I have my mammogram. As far as we know I am still cancer free and doing well. God was so good to me through all that year and gave me a peace that I will never understand. I can’t even imagine how I would have made it through without Him.
So you can see I have lots to be thankful for today. I am so very blessed.
