Tuesday 4 Meme

The art of Mary Petty for New Yorker covers.

1.  You're having a lovely dinner party for friends and family.  What will you serve for appetizers, main course and dessert?
I would probably serve a salad and lasagna and chocolate cake.  Very simple and easy.

 2. Snow storm!    You've got house guests and you're all stuck inside for the night. What do you prepare for dinner.  Will you  watch a movie? Which?
Again, it would be something simple, maybe I'd get hubby to make chili if we have the fixings.  Most like we'd just relax and talk unless they wanted to watch a movie.  If so, they would get to pick.

3. We are going into New York City for the weekend. Where do you want to go?
I'd want it to be during the Christmas season and go to Rockefeller Center and see a Broadway play.

4. You are going to night school.  They offer courses in writing short stories, painting,   piano  or guitar lessons, simple home repairs, baking, and gardening.
Which do you pick  ( or make up one of your own)  and why?
Maybe piano.  I already play, but I'd like to learn more about chording and some of the other things I never learned.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for:

** A fun evening celebrating Valentines Day with hubby and friends listening to country music and eating good food.

** Monday morning watching a movie on Netflix while hubby was doing stuff on his computer.  Watched a little movie called Scales which was pretty cute.  Probably a little juvenile, but I liked it anyway.

** So glad to have Monday off of work.  These 3 day weekends are something I could really get used to.

**  So thankful for 31 years of marriage to my hubby...so blessed!

And This Is Now

Tuesday 4 Meme - Toiletries and Cosmetics

1. What brand of shampoo do you think works best for you and what does it do for you?
I use Suave Rosemary & Mint Invigorating Clean Shampoo.  It cleans my hair well and it's not very expensive.

2. Do you have a favorite  brand and shade of lipstick and blush?
Actually I rarely use lipstick or blush, as I rarely wear make-up at all. Mostly I use EOS Lip Balm Stick.  If and when I use blush, it's kind of a pinky color.

3. Is soap your favorite for face washing or do you use other products?
This probably sounds bad, but I usually just use water for my face and it does very well for me.  My skin is pretty dry and soap or other products dry me out even more.

4. Do you have an all time favorite perfume or scent that you wear? If you don't wear perfumes, is there a scent that you love in general?  Again, I rarely wear perfume (I guess I'm just a very plain kind of person), but one I used to wear a lot was Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path.  I also like their shampoo, body soap and lotion.

Things I'm thankful for right now:

** Our spring Bible study starts in just a few weeks. Looking forward to do Kelly Minter's "Finding God Faithful."

** The ladies in our Bible study group.  They are the most awesome women.  I love how they post prayer requests and you just know everyone is praying for you.  Some of the sweetest ladies I know.

**  It's been almost 4 years since I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  I am so blessed to still be here and to be cancer free as far as we know.  There were so many people all over the world praying for me at that time (including some of you) and you will never know how much that meant to me and my hubby.  Just so blessed to be apart of the family of God.  Can't imagine how people live without relying on God.

**  Pandora radio - I'm currently listening to a station I've made up of mostly Southern Gospel Music, which is my favorite and also plenty of contemporary music mixed in.

**  As always, I'm thankful for my hubby, both girls and my grandson!  And as Stacy says, I'm thankful for each one of you!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!!

Tuesday 4 - Reading is Fundamental

Click the button above to link up.

1.  Do you have some favorite books to share?(if you don't read, how about favorite TV programs or movies?)
Anything written by Lori Wick (especially Pretense and Sophie's Heart) or Dee Henderson (the O'Malley Series).

2.  When looking for  a book(or program) what things do you look for?
I enjoy biographies about interesting people, but mostly I just enjoy light, fun, and a little romance kind of stories. As far as TV, I like things like NCIS and Survivor (sometimes) and some cooking shows.

3.  Does the cover of a book make a difference or help you choose?(or do trailers help you decide on a TV or movie program?)
Yes, the covers can entice me or turn me off.  But now that I read on a Kindle most of the time, the covers don't matter.  And yes, trailers do help me choose TV shows or movies.

4.  What is your favorite genre of book, TV or movie? That is, is it science fiction, romance, mystery, true story, biography?
Christian romance and biographies.

Thankful Thursday

Click the button above to link up.

I’m thankful for many things, but today I’m going to lust just one.  I am so thankful for the almost 48 hours we had with Colton and Kerri this weekend. I just feel so blessed for the hours we had together and the time to play with Colton and talk with Kerri. It was just so nice.

After his haircut

All ready for his haircut

Being goofy on the floor

Lucy protecting him in bed

Papaw and Colton playing finger puppets

Gigi and Colton watching TV and he's eating popcorn and an orange

Gigi and Colton playing with Play-dough

I didn’t take many pictures I think because we were too busy having fun, but thankfully, his mommy got a few more. I wish they could come home every month. But as I said above, I’m thankful for the time we had. When given the chance you can sure pack a lot of fun into just a few hours.

So what are you thankful for this week?
